"Mm... Well." He laid back in the grass. "It was helpful to me..." He told her before stretching his body out. "I was really scared... I'm glad I didn't hurt anyone..."

"Are you going to look into the nightmares, though?" Her voice was sharper than she'd have liked. Shay didn't appreciate him using her as his distraction, his excuse.

Kenta sat back up and nodded. She sounded mad. "I will. Maybe someone knows the real reason they happen." He soon hopped up, the motion causing his necklace to sway back and forth. The gem was now a lovely lighter blue, nearly crystal clear. "Ah, but not now. It's a nice day. Wanna go get some ice cream, Shay-shay?" He asked with a smile. "Laetus told me about a place with great mochi ice cream!" He offered her his hand in a gesture of invitation. At some point, he had slipped the paper away again.

Shay's eye twitched at the new nickname given to her. Shay-shay? Had he actually just called her that. She mentally sighed and held out her hand, but not to take his; she held it out expectantly. "Give me my picture back first. It's not yours, and it's rude for you to keep it." She didn't plan on taking his hand anytime soon. She didn't like touching people, so Shay wasn't sure why people insisted she should touch them.

"Aww, but I kinda like it." He complained, slipping the paper back out of his sleeve. "If I give it back, will you join me for ice cream?" He asked, offering the folded slip of paper to her.

"Yes," Shay said. She kept her promises. She was a good kid like that, but she wouldn't have some boy stealing from her. She just would not. As he held it out to her, she snatched it up and held it close.

Shay was glad the paper wasn't ruined. Even if the doodles were terrible, they were still hers, and you didn't leave behind what belonged to you. She bite her lower lip, now keenly aware she was going to have ice cream with another person. "Why would you even want to have ice cream with me?" she asked, tone accusatory.

Save for the folds, the paper was in the exact state he had taken it in. He had kept it safe, expecting she would want it back eventually, and... he did really start to like it.
Kenta smirked at her question and turned to walk away, expecting she would follow.
"Because I like you." He said quite matter-of-factly, making it painfully unclear how he meant that.

If it were painfully clear, Shay certainly wouldn't have gotten it anyway. She was quite dense in the matters of people. She waited a moment as he began walking before she followed him, catching up quickly enough and keeping stride with him. "Why, though?" she prodded further. She knew he liked her, why else would he wish to eat out with her? She supposed it could be some elaborate prank, but she had the feeling this boy didn't have the attention span for such things.

Kenta shrugged. "I don't usually have reasons." He admitted. "It's just a feeling. I like someone or I don't..." He smiled at her. "In my experience, I've found I like good people and avoid bad ones. Call it luck, a sixth sense, intuition, but I haven't been wrong yet."

Eroshay didn't consider herself a bad person, by any means. She wasn't quite old enough to be bad or good, but she also didn't think of herself as a particularly good one, either. She was neutral. She stayed out of trouble and ignored the people around her. "I'm or good or bad," she told him. "So I guess you like neutral people, too."

As they got to the shop, Eroshay pushed the door open and held it for him. She didn't have any money on her, as an orphan, she really never did. There were times when Shay would pick up used cans to collect small amounts of coins, but she hadn't had the chance to do that in a week or two.
