His eyes widened at this idea. How could these be... My memories..? He shook it off when she mentioned her own dreams.
"You... have dreams like that too? So... Maybe... is it normal?"

"It's not," Shay deadpanned. "It's my power. It's probably memories for you. You might want to get those looked into, you know, by a professional." Shay sighed. Why was he in such denial about the things that were likely true? How would that help anyone?

Kenta's optimism was short lived, and his gaze fell again.
"That... Can't be right..." He mumbled. Soon he shook his head and began laughing.
"This is all crazy!" He screamed, unsure if he was convincing her or himself.
"So I'm... a five-hundred year old mass murderer?!" He asked sarcastically.
"I can't believe Im taking any of this seriously! I just... Get... nightmares... Maybe I have the same power as you, right? You have nightmares too after all. Right?"

"About my own death," Shay said, her patience at an end. "Instead of making excuses why don't you try to find answers? Either find answers or stop talking about it, but you can't sit there in the middle, not around me." She didn't even know why it made her so angry. What did she care whether he admitted the truth or not? What did she care what the truth was? And why did she feel so betrayed by his laughter?

He quickly became silent again. Her own death... scary... and... He never saw...
"Wait... What is your power exactly? You... know how you die, but you said boddies. You see others?"

Shay's stare was sullen. She hated talking about her power. It was stupid. She was useless. It didn't even do anything. "When I touch people -- skin to skin -- I see their death. When I sleep, I see my own. I hear the whispers of the dead around those who have murdered; I can see and talk to ghosts --" she sighed, cutting herself off. "It's all pretty much death based. The way it works is like multiple dimension theory. Ever heard of that? Every small choice someone could make branches into another set. Every death that could ever be through any choice, I see."

Kenta shivered. "Thats scary... I kinda get why you drew this stuff now." He said, slipping the folded paper from his sleeve.
A thought hit though. "If you can hear the voices of people who were murdered... wouldn't you hear lots of voices around me? I mean, if my dream is real..."

Shay shrugged. "My powers..." Her eyes drifted to the paper as he pulled it from his sleeve. "They're not the most useful and I don't hear voices coming from you. So, maybe you didn't murder anyone. I can't be sure. I'm..." her voice lowered, "Sorry."

Kenta shook his head and smiled. "Your powers are scary, but they sound useful. People are always worried about such things, and... Well, it makes me feel better. I couldn't have killed anyone if you don't hear them... Something like that can help you keep away from bad people, right? You know who's a killer and..." He finally relaxed, letting out a sigh as he added "I'm... not."

"No, I know anyone who has killed, directly or indirectly. Whispers could be around doctors or policemen." She shrugged again, her smile wry. "Trust me; it 's pretty useless."
