Damnit.
Where was the tape?
The redheaded guy sighed as he looked around himself for what felt like the kajillionth time for the tape roll he'd found in one of his bags (he must have packed it... somehow... although he never did remember doing such a thing). The damned thing kept sliding out from his grasp. The fact that he was getting papercuts everywhere too was also kind of pissing him off.
But hey - it was two sets of posters. What could he do, really? That's just how it was. Spotting the roll under a fee chairs, he hopped off his own chair and dropped down to the tiled floor to pick it up.
The sound of paper falling down. Behind him. He must not have taped it there properly.
"UGH. Are you freaking KIDDING me? Again?" He yelled at the poster from his place down on the floor. "Can you just stay up, for ONCE?"

"Huh?!"
Nix swiveled - and BOOM, hit his head on the table above him. "SHIT!" He swore, a hand flying to the spot where he'd been hit. "Ahhhahahahah... Ouch. Well, uh. Sure. I guess. S'pose I could use some extra-strength tape. That, or I drill it to the wall." A chuckle, as he got up, holding his head and looking absolutely sheepish. Looking back up to actually give the girl a once-over, he came to find - yeah, she was kinda attractive... And definitely a runner. In the election, of course. "Head cheerleader, right? Seen you 'round. That, uh, that your pretty face on the posters over there?" He pointed to the flyers on the table. Oh, right. "Nice. Ahem. Uh, Pho -" he cut himself off. Phoenix sounded a pot more formal than he needed to be, so he decoded to introduce himself to her as -
"Jamston. Nix Jamston," he said, "twenty one going on twenty two, and uh, hopeful secretary of Starlight Academy."

Nix nodded, taking her hand, and pulled himself up to his full height, grinning gratefully. "Thanks. Uh, it's nice to meetcha, y'know. You running for the top spot too?" He asked, perusing the posters. Really did capture a good angle, and while the design was simple, it rivaled the deign of his Secretary posters. Nice. "It'd be great to have you on council. Though, let's be real," Nix smirked, "with how kickass my posters are, i'm going to get... Exactly zero votes." He chuckled again. "A little late - don't really expect to win, to be honest. Though it's kinda fun makin' posters and everything. If I DO get on council though -" his smirk seemed to gain a certain playful quality " - It's gonna be with a buddy in tow. Y'know?"

"Oh?" Nix eyed Emily, then laughed. "Ah, nothin' to worry 'bout. My running' buddy's got it covered. Solid points, he got. Though not a lotta color sense, or, to be honest, not much pizzaz, if you know what I mean. That's uh, part of the reason i'm running. Because eh, yeah i'm running against a few people, but uh, it'# just for fun, and," he held out one of his posters, the one he'd worked on for a solid hour, "design's petty fun when ya get down to it. Plus, I get to help a buddy out, y'know?" A naive grin. "I know my posters are kickass, but uh... If you could teach me about the ways of the designing more, that'd be awesome." The feathers, he supposed, were pale at best... Ahaha. "That being said, wanna hang ten with me?" A smirk. "Ten posters at a time, I mean. Nah, i'm joking. Not ten at a time - I can barely handle one, as you can probably tell." A sheepish chuckle, as he ran a hand though his hair. "But uh, the offer still stands." The smile on his face turned into a hopeful grin.

Nix let out a low whistle. "Whoa. Low blow, cheer captain," he smirked. "Nice try. I don't wanna betray my roommate, though - might get him pissed, and I mean piissssed. I would be, too. But uh... Can I still hang ten with ya, despite? I dunno - although I can't switch sides, uh, there's a little stuff I can do to encourage you." Nix nodded, smiling to himself. "Yeah. Like a personal pep team!"

Nix grabbed another poster - one of his later more vibrant designs - and hopped up on a table, sitting on it with a grin. Waiting patiently for the chair.
"Thanks for doing this, Emily. It's uh, real nice of you." Glancing at her own posters, he answered her other question with a witty comeback. "I'd tell you, but then I'd have to kill you," he chuckled. "Ah, I joke. He uh, he's my roommate. Real chill guy, I know. Barely even expresses and, " his voice took on a conspiratorial tone, "b'tween you 'n me, I don't really think he has a sense of humor. Don't tell him that, though. Hate to piss him off, again," he said, referring to his last point. "Still, he's a real nice guy. Best guy I've met in a long while. And we come from the same place, so uh, kindred spirits I guess." A grin.

Nix actually looked surprised she'd gotten it. "Yup. That's the guy." He hopped down. "He... Doesn't really have an eye for stuff, so I decided to help out with his posters and stuff. And then uh... I just got caught IP in elections and politics, I guess." Running another hand through his hair. He couldn't really figure out why it mattered. "Why? Is that like, is that a problem or something?"

Nix hung another poster a little ways away from the other ones, and, once he was done, seeing Emily hanging another of his posters, swipe one from her pile, and taped it carefully in its own little spot, where he was sure it'd be noticed.
In truth, he really couldn't care less what was going on between Havoc and Emily - they were both friends, they both obviously needed support (although Emily seemed to be more like him, a certain advantage to her in elections). This was especially present in his mind as he witnessed Emily letting her hands drop to her sides. "Huh." That was it - he was going to try and help. Be the good guy. Or at least, a good guy. Really, Emily seemed to be a nice person - she didn't really deserve dislike as far as he knew. "Y'know," he said, stepping over to her and checking out the placement of the posters, "there's just some people you can't impress, who just... don't like you." It was obvious he wasn't referring to Emily, but rather, wistfully, to himself. As if he knew how it felt. "Life's a tough crowd. You're gonna meet some hecklers, sure. Naysayers? Definitely. People who only think for themselves." He wasn't sure what he was saying now. Bunch of psych bullshit. At least it was halfway true? He guessed? Ugh. He was just trying to help. "So uh, why do you think he doesn't like ya? I-If ya don't mind my askin'."

Pfft. Nix tried not to snicker. Havoc really didn't appear to be the jealous type - but then, books and covers all the same. "Well, shit. Didn't realize. Sorry for being' selfish and stuff... Y'know, get caught up in stuff, the norm, shit in the past. Gotta love it. Anyways." He shrugged. "Probably won't be a presidency for me, not for two years at least." Cue his signature chuckle, and the look on his face brightened. "Your posters are much better than mine, to be honest. You're gonna be some serious competition," he remarked with a smile. "I hope you really do win! That'd be cool, eh? Or maybe you could have like a dual-prez government. Y'know, make all the decisions as a joint crew - wait, no. That's stupid." He said that last part to himself. By doing that, he'd force Emily to be working with Havoc. Uncomfortable for both of them, he could imagine. "Nevermind. See? Exhibit A, terrible President. No Nix, 2k17." He chuckled. "But seriously, you're gonna do great. I mean," he smirked and flicked his eyes towards the posters, "sheet, people are gonna listen to you whether they like it or not."

Nix, with a sly grin, glanced at the wall. It was now thoroughly covered in their election posters. Like they were running on the same team - which actually made him feel a little guilty. He could have helped more than two people... Eh. It was already done, he guessed. It looked good. "Wow, we really did a great job of posting. Looks good." She hadn't picked up on the pun. Of course not. "Shoulda gotten that on tape." Another one. He smirked, proud of it. "Aha, anyways. Yeah, it was really nice to meet you, Emily. I'll seeya on the council!" With that, he glanced at her hand. "Handshake before I gotta run?"
