Kal was quiet as Alma talked about the vibe her posters were giving off, then she laughed a little and used one set of hands to wipe at her face while the other reached below the table to pull up her violin case.

"I guess that works. It's what I am, after all."

As she worked at her violin, not yet playing any music but starting up what themes she might want each jingle to correspond with, Kal asked, "Thanks for the help. Uh, did you have any questions? I'm not great with the social aspect, but I'm good at organizing and logical thinking. And numbers, if you needed anything for those."

"Do you have any other allies yet? Any rivals I should know about?"

Alma moved back to the other side of the table and drummed her fingers against it.

"I don't have any rivals I'm aware of, no. But I've got my boyfriends helping me with the campaigning. I'm probably going to talk to Mr. Bryndísarson, since he's one of my therapists and he's got a lot of clout. Oh and I'm commandeering my boyfriend Iggy's familiar. Cooper, he's a raccoon."

"Oh, I remember the raccoon," Kal said as she focused on her violin. It made it easier for her to breathe. She began to strum a few of the cords, following her gut into something deep and dark sounding. But, no, that wasn't entirely right.

"I think I'll take to James Havoc. He was on the last council, and he's... well not like me, but most like me. If he didn't have to do all this emotional stuff to win, then I'd be happy to learn how."

And Kal switched her music to something less dark and more passionate. Deep and reverberating — a sound that settled in the bones and rallied people around it. A bard's song for war.

Alma nodded slowly along with the music as Kal played. "James Havoc makes sense. He's got a good head on his shoulders, even if I don't agree with his ideas."

Her pupils briefly reduced in size, becoming normal and circular. But they quickly returned to being oblong as her tail swayed to the music. This was less a jingle and more a ballad. She got a dangerous smile on her face.

"That sounds amazing."

"Hm? Ah! heh." Kal laughed and ceased playing, having barely realized. "Sorry I was just thinking. It's kind of like you're at war. Your posters are your propaganda, your pins are your paint, and you walking in with all the allies you can get." She blushed. "So I thought I'd base whatever I did for you on that."

She hesitantly set her violin to the side. "So, what's your idea for your posts? Or your stickers, for that matter? Do you have a tagline?"

"I am going to war. This has been my thing ever since..."

Alma paused. She hadn't talked about it with anybody until then, barring her closest friends and boyfriends. She frowned a little bit. "Nevermind that for now."

"My tagline is just "Vote Malivani. Solidarity. Tolerance. Integrity." She shrugged, it was simple. Nothing fancy. "I have a plan for how to strategically put up my posters. I can swap some of mine with some of yours and we can put up each others'."

"That sounds nice," Kealani said at the mention of Alma's tagline. She paused, then nodded. "I'd like that. I have ideas of where I want mine up. We can swap ideas, too, make sure we're not hitting any of the same places. I plan on getting a few of my club members and friends to help."

She nodded slowly. "I, uh, listened to your speech." She brought it up because, well, she could tell that was what Alma was getting at. She probably didn't want to talk about it right then. Kal was fine with that. They didn't know each other that well.

"Oh..." Alma leaned back against the desk, kind of sitting against it and pressing her hands into the edge of the desk.

"Yeah it was... I decided I wanted everybody to know. Because secrets just make things more complicated than they need to be."

Kal looked up and smiled a little. "Yeah, it was.. very brave. And you were so passionate." She paused a second. "I'm going to make your jingle something like this. A war song. It fits you.

"Anyway, we should... Uh, if we worked for a few hours we could actually get all these posters done." Kealani wiggled all her hands. "We have the arm power for it."

Alma nodded, her expression serious. "It was important to me that people know." And it was. She hadn't expected herself to feel so good afterward, but the weight that she felt off her chest was incredible.

Her face slowly broke into a grin though as Kal mentioned them getting to work. She nodded vigorously and busted out her own art supplies. "Would it be too much to say 'all hands on deck'?" she added with a laugh. Working together, Alma was certain the election was in the bag.
