Name: Julius Winston
Age: 23
Birthday: January 5th
Gender: Male
Species: Half-Elf
Category: Citizen
Career: Programmer (Freelance)
Appearance Description:
Julius is a taller individual, standing at roughly 6'1". His build is lanky, though, with some toning but very little "muscle" to him. His eyes are a brown- though they may take a more yellowish hue if he's using magic- and his skin is a medium-tone Caucasian.

Personality Description: Julius is a socially awkward, if not outright shy individual. His height may make him seem intimidating at first, but he's more more likely to be intimidated of you. He tends to avoid social situations entirely unless he absolutely has to be involved in them, but he's extremely sweet if you get a chance to talk to him. He's a bit skittish and overly apologetic, though- which can get annoying. Animals seem to be the exception for this- especially cats, and you'll often find him cuddling cats quite a bit.

The only other place you'll find he feels especially at home is, well.. in his apartment. Playing games, which he does a lot. Neighbors may occasionally hear him screaming curses at his console.

He's not a very touchy individual by any means, and if a stranger touches him he's going to feel extremely awkward. He'll bare it to be nice, though, but if pushed he'll say something. Voicing concerns in general is not his forte due to often avoiding these situations to begin with. This may cause those concerns to be snapped about unintentionally- which will lead to apologizing. Overall, though, he's a good guy, if not a bit timid.

Species Abilities: Decelerated Aging: Half elves have a tendency to age slower than humans. While they are not immortal, this means they can remain youthful looking- and live- for a long time. This roughly ends up being 120-150 years, usually.

Wing Manifestation: Due to being half sky elf specifically, Julius is able to form wings as the sky elves do. However, this ability only lasts for 30 seconds before the wings dissipate entirely. They can't be harmed on a physical level- such as with fists or weapons- but can be attacked via magic. They're a bright, glowing white.

Hollow Skeleton: Sky elves- even halves- have a lighter skeleton by default to help them easier fly with their "wings." This makes them easier to break if blunt force is dealt, but makes them more agile.

Cold Immunity: Sky elves have, over the years, learned to resist the cold due to living high up in the clouds, usually. Halves are slightly less so, but still can usually walk around in winter in nothing but short sleeves and feel only a tad chilly at most.

Heat Sensitivity: As a side effect to being used to the cold, heat is now more uncomfortable for them, and they suffer from heat sickness more easily than most. Keeping hydrated and cool is a must.

Powers: Empathic: Julius has the ability to feel other's emotions. Intensely so. In fact, one could mistake the emotions for their own if they aren't careful. This is impossible for Julius to turn off, and will pick up on most emotions within a 15-feet radius. How strongly they are felt within this radius depends on distance, with the 10-foot mark and beyond feeling more like "impressions" than the actual emotion itself. People with good mental blockers will more than likely be able to avoid being picked up on, though.

Emotional Bleed: Of course, what comes in must come out. Julius, within a five foot radius, will pour his own feelings into others. Depending on how close they are, they will feel these emotions as their own. Again, mental blocking abilities can prevent this, but otherwise it's uncontrollable by Julius. Whatever he's feeling, it will poor out. This can be beneficial if he's happy, but when he's not, well.. things get messy.

Biography: Julius lived an extremely sheltered life in Minnesota, with limited human contact. His parents at the time had tried to get him out there in the world, but putting him in regular, human classes proved to be disastrous. Despite looking human and having mostly concealable powers, often what would happen is he'd be upset or feel someone else upset- which would bleed to the rest of the class and make everyone start crying. To avoid questioning- even though the teachers just felt it was kids being kids- they pulled him out.

Julius didn't mind this, though. He hated being emotionally overwhelmed so he stayed away from crowds and people, and still does to this way. He instead buried himself in computers and gaming, with some programming on the side- things he would eventually pursue in college.

College in general was the one thing he attended outside of his little paradise online, and it was honestly one of the worst experiences of his life. Emotions running freely everywhere made him feel he was drowning in a strong current, and while he passed, it was just by a hare. His attempts to date had fallen flat on their faces as well- he'd tried two relationships, both fall apart within a few months.

He was fortunate in the sense his skills made up for most of his grades, allowing him to get his degree and even a few job offers.

However, by this point, Julius was just.. tired. He was extremely tired of hiding away from people to hopefully not pour his emotions into them, he was tired of pretending to be human. His mother had always wanted that of him- after all, he'd been born without the ears despite his heritage, he should've had a good life like she had wished she could have- without the use of glamour, that was.

Despite such dreams, she could tell he was at his wit's end from the phone calls he'd give. So, when he graduated, she informed him of a special island full of people with abilities, and different powers. She had heard of others of their kind going there, but she'd refused all those years ago.

It was appealing, to Julius. Sure, he'd have more job security here in the states, but over on this new island he may be surrounded by others who could either not be read, or were able to block him out. It was an opportunity for a better life he simply couldn't give up.

And so, via word of mouth means and sheer luck- after all, it's not like he could ask for public transportation there- he managed to locate this island. And now, here he stays. Sure, the apartment's kinda shoddy due to being strapped for cash, but he manages.
