A late night stroll around Starlight Academy's campus, near the edge where the manicured lawn met the forest had been Jasmine's idea. She'd wanted to be alone with Eric, to just let herself go from all the stress that she'd been having build up over the past couple of months. A walk at night would do her some good and being away from other people was always a good thing.

"It's nice out here. The woods remind me of home, you know?" She had her bag with her; always be prepared. She'd never forgive herself if she got caught with her pants down in a bad situation. But she didn't need the flashlight out here, not when the stars and the moon were so bright.

Jasmine smiled up at Eric, finding that she never could quite get over how tall her was compared to her. "It's nice to, ya know. Clear your head out in the fresh air. I uh- thanks for coming out here with me anyway."

Eric loved being outside. The feeling of grass and dirt beneath his feet, the sound of leaves rustling in the wind, the fresh, cold air.

Back at school, he felt so disconnected from everyone, struggling to adapt. So many things were so familiar, yet jarringly unfamiliar. Most of the old friends he used to lean on were missing. He pretended to be okay, but every day the mask got heavier.

Out here, those unfamiliar sights were behind him. He felt connected to things again. To the natural world, and to one of his best friends.

He flashed a smile back down at her. "Any time, Eagle Scout."

Jasmine felt her cheeks flush warm against the cold night air and she leaned her head against Eric's arm, hugging it gently as they walked. Walking was good. It let her think, let her mind wander and look to the future. Even if Anna had all but abandoned them and Risky had gone and gotten herself pregnant and was off doing her own thing, she still had Eric and Saturday was still around.

She opened her mouth to say something, ask a question she was nervous to. "Eric? Would-" Jasmine was cut off however as a strange sensation rippled through the air around them. A vibration that shook the very core of one's chest, like a jet taking off. But no sound accompanied it and the rest of the world was at peace, it seemed.

Stopping, feeling the hair on her arms stand up in anxious anticipation for a bad thing to happen, Jasmine looked around. There was nothing out of the ordinary. Just the school in the distance behind them. The woods, growing ever tangled to their left. The quaint little suburban house that hadn't been there ten seconds before. Wait, what was that last thing?

Jasmine peered into the dark at the cookie cutter, white and tan structure only partially visible through the trees. She gripped Eric's arm a bit tighter, her heartbeat quickening. "Eric? Do you see that?"

"Yeah, I see it." Eric went from being relaxed to being on high alert. Weird stuff always put him on edge - and this was definitely weird as all get out.

"... Maybe it's a normal teleporting house." He was joking. He was a little frustrated with the idea that such a thing as a normal teleporting house could exist here - so, hopefully he didn't sound too bitter. It was probably a weird thing to be bitter about, and not the kind of weird people liked around here. "I mean, that's probably a thing. Do you think anyone lives in there?"

He wished the weird shit could have left them alone... but he was also honestly a little curious.

Jasmine feigned a smile at Eric's attempt at a joke. She grabbed onto the strap of her messenger bag, only looking at Eric for a moment to confirm what she already assumed; they were on the same page for this thing. "Well, I guess there's only one way to find out, isn't there?"

Swallowing her fear, she took the first step towards the house. The front door was easy enough to knock on but the knock seemed to cause the door to creak open as if it had no latch on it. Jasmine gave Eric a sideways glance and a nervous smile. "Just like back home, huh?"

Oh boy, that was spooky. "It kind of is like back home..."

The place seemed empty. It was an empty, magic house. If people lived in here they would've had a normal working door on it, but it just sort of opened as soon as Jazz knocked. "You wanna go in and check the place out?" The idea honestly excited him a little, even though he could tell this was probably a stupid idea. What's the worst that could happen?

He would stick his head in and shout. "Hey! Anyone home!?"

"Of course I do," Jazz replied, shooting Eric a knowing grin. This was a stupid idea. They both knew it. But it wasn't the first time they'd done anything like this and they'd both be liars if they said they didn't want to.

Ducking underneath Eric, Jazz slipped inside the house and clicked her flashlight on. It looked... really normal inside. There was a little table in the hallway with a vase full of flowers that were just starting to wilt. The whole place smelled lightly musty and dusty, like your grandmother's house when you go to visit over the summer. Wooden floors and pale tan walls. Nothing out of the ordinary.

But as the two of them got inside, the first strange thing happened. The door didn't shut, exactly. But in the time it took Jasmine and Eric to get their first look around and listen for a response to his question, it simply wasn't there. No door leading outside, the windows showing nothing but inky blackness. Truly a stupid idea had by stupid teenagers.

"Oh boy. Never a dull moment, eh?" Her casual tone hid the immediate nervousness that Jasmine felt. She slid closer to Eric for protection, unsure of where to begin their trek.

[[OoC: your character should show up in a random other part of the house, your decision: upstairs bedrooms, bathroom, basement, attic, kitchen, laundry, etc. No more than two people should start in the same area. Good luck]]

Harmonia had been out with her assistant collecting some pine cones, holly sprigs, mistletoe, and pine boughs to decorate her office and her place for Christmas when they stumbled upon the house. Harmonia was pretty sure that she that never seen the place before. Though, it was possible that the house, being located where it was, had simply gone unnoticed til today.

"Why don't you take these back to the office? I want to check out this property," she suggested to Madeline as she all but shoved her basket of woodland curiosities at the girl.

Harmonia then decided to enter the house - after a quick peek into a few of its windows - in through a side door that lead to, what looked appeared to be, a mudroom and laundry room in one.

"Not bad," she mused to herself as she took in the neat tidiness of the room before her -old macks and wool coats on pegs to the left of the room, a wooden bench with a jute welcome mat, and an empty shoe rack as one came in the door. Then to the right was an older style washer and dryer along with a linen closet and some shelves.

Was it strange in this place for buildings to suddenly appear out of thin air? Red had to honestly wonder about it. She had seen things no mortal saw, at least back home, but a building that just popped into existence? It sounded like one of those scary stories people tell in the dorms when studies had drone on for so long. She wondered if this thing was connected to that creepy pasta about stairs in the middle of the forest. Considering that she was in the middle of the forest when it appeared, she wondered again if this house had missing staircases instead. Or even better, a kapre had chosen her to be his bride. How exciting! She sniffed the air but the lack of the scent of cigar smoke made her think twice about the possibility. Or perhaps he wasn't a smoker? Who could tell with this place? In a sing-song voice, Red called out with a sweet "I'm coming iiiin~" The front door was locked, but that didn't discourage her. She looked around for another way in, and at the side of the house, she could see an open window on the second floor, right next to a branch from a nearby tree. "Oooohoo hoo, I see," she said as she ran over to the base of the tree, turn into a formless shadow creature climbing unnaturally up in the shadow and then running along the branch, diving through the open window. She found herself in a room with a nice, large bed. It was fully furnished, although a bit dusty. "I'm here, my sweet~" she called out as she opened the door to the hall. "You better not scare me now, darling."

Destra was out in the woods, minding his own business. He was just heading to his normal clearing where he often went to clear his head. But instead of a clearing he found a house. There was a house in his spot. Why the fuck was there a house in his spot? The dragon's pupils turned to slits.

Would he enter and give the residents a piece of his mind?

You bet your ass he was.

Destra stalked up to the house, and opened the door. Once he was inside he wound up in... the attic? It looked standard enough. Plenty of what looked like decorations in boxes and the like. A standard attic in a weird fucking house. Now he had to see if he could actually slip out of the attic and into the main house.
