Mez smiled, he looked like one of the happiest students there. He withdrew his rings jumping into the brook. His waterproof mp3 player blaring the song Peanut Butter Jelly Time he was a bit into the music, but music motivated him more. He was a good fighter with music that had a beat to it and seemed to be made for fighting. He saw the mermaids immediate come after him. He swung his chain of rings in motion to the song. The weak mermaids tried to get him but he was too in the song for it to mean anything to him. He swam as close to the surface as possible moving as fast as he could be it soon the stronger mermaids were now closer to him. He only had hypnotizing as a power, he tried to hypnotize them best her could as swimming as fast as he could but one managed to avoid it and grabbed onto his leg. He struggled with the mermaid in the waters, he wasn'y much the altheletic type.

He managed to cut deep in the mermaid's skin making her let go he swam towards the surface as quick as he could grabbing onto the bottom of the thorns he held on as more mermaids attacked.

Nikki had gotten through the brook only a few minutes before Mez had gotten there. It had been a little bit of a struggle, what with her having to use both of her powers at exactly the same time, and sometimes in unison, but she'd been able to do it quickly.

The weaker mermaids had been easy. The fighting skills that she'd memorized made it easy for her to beat them back. The stronger one's she'd mostly avoided as well, using the Katana she had recieved from her cousin in Japan. Any who had grabbed hold of her, she'd just phased through.

She was just shaking off when she heard sounds of a struggle. She peered into the thorns to find a guy hanging on for dear life with the mermaids clamboring around him. This she could see vaguely through the thickness.

She didn't bother thinking through, and instead dove back into the water. Three mermaids immediately accosted her, but were met with a strong wide stroke from her katana, and sent them scurrying away.

A few quick strokes found Nikki at the same area. With what breath she had left, she swung her katana around several times, sending mermaids scattering everywhere, though a few stubborn ones still held onto Mez, trying to pull him down.

She surfaced with a gasp and also gripped the thorns. She held out a hand to him. "Give me your hand. I'll help you out of this!" she said quickly, letting go quickly to give the mermaids another taste of Katana.

He wasn't afraid, but he didn't want to seem like a jerk. He took ahold of her hand and vowed to help her out. He didn't know what she was gonna do but he decided it was better to accept the help than to not accept the help and end up getting them both killed or injured. He listened to the tune in his head wondering why he seemed crummy underwater. He didn't think that his rings were metal and only gained weight underwater making them therefore not that useful.

His bright blue eyes were capturing, and his orange attire was odd and different. He couldn't help but notice how ugly and old the mermaids were. He wondered what kind of mermaid was that ugly. Some mermaids could look alluring, but that was usually when it was partually out of water. When fully submerged they looked completely ugly and scary. It was odd that people would often get them mixed up with Sirens which were the more beautiful creature but completely ugly at heart.

The minute he touched her hand, Nikki focused hard. In a split second, the mermaids found that they could no longer keep a grip on either Nikki or Mez. For some strange reason, that even after all her training Nikki couldn't understand, she still had the ability to move even when she was phasing. She moved them through the water, being chased, but untouchable by the mermaids.

In a few minutes, she had pulled them to the other side of the hedge, at which point, she released Mez's hand and climbed out of the water, dripping slightly. She shook her head, sending drops of water flying everywhere. "If you'd stayed much longer, they all would have mobbed you and you wouldn't have been able to get out." she remarked with a smile.

She'd been studying the mermaid's actions for a while, testing them herself. There had been a few close calls, where they'd almost had her, and so she had a pretty good idea of how they acted. Not perfect, but pretty good.

He nodded getting out of the water, he looked around, the area before them was a valley of death, poison valley. He could sense the erie feeling, he heard something from the bushes. He could sense he was being watched as well as the girl who hastened to his rescue in the water. He moved in front of her motioning for her to be quiet, he walked ahead of her listening carefully to the sounds that resembled breathing. He withdrew his rings just in time to block an attack from a weak mutant.

The mutant was easily hypnotized by Mez though considering his eyes sparkled so much that the mutant was too weak to ignore the pretty shine. And as soon as the mutant looked long enough he was bound to fight for Mez. He couldn't break the hypnotizm on it's own, and it had no understanding that it was hypnotized. It just knew that it must protect Mez and the girl from harm and that the girl was most important. The mutant walked ahead of them scouting the path for them. "This is fun. So what's your name?" Mez asked curiously to the girl.

Nikki grinned at him when he came back, though she'd withdrawn her weapon again and rested her left hand pointing down with the weapon pointing down towards the ground.

"Yeah. Fighting is always fun. I'm Nikki." she agreed, then introduced herself. "So how many things can you hypnotize?" she questioned, a cheerful smile on her face.

Meanwhile her mind was catalogging his fighting moves. And the fighting moves of the mermaids. She would be able to fight better in the water next time.
