It did what now?

"I can heal... huh. But I can heal," he said thoughtfully. Probably through the same mechanisms as anything else he could do. Channeling the energy sort of felt like how he channeled metal through his body, it was probably similar. He'd share his hypothesis with Jude. It made the most sense, after all.

Channel through his entire body and unleash for a shockwave, probably. He'd make a note not to do that. He definitely didn't want to break something. Travis grabbed an empty trash can, and set it down in front of him. He channeled a bot of energy into his hand and... tapped the can. It flew a few feet further than it should have.

"Yep, this is some shit. It's really like armoring up but... you know."

"Hm..." Travis rubbed his chin thoughtfully as he remembered something Rory suggested during their last match. He made a finger gun, popping a little metal spike, aiming it at a tree. He "pulled the trigger", channeling energy into his finger. The spike hit the tree, digging in pretty deep.

"Well shit. I feel like catching bullets like that would take some practice though, Timing and all that. Still... this power's got a ton of utility."

"Actually Rory was the one practicing really. She tanked a full force punch from me. You remember those instances when I would just get new powers? Maybe it's kinda like that? Because we were talking about this... channeling stuff being a very real possibility."

There was that aspect of his abilities that he never quite understood. Every so often they would just change briefly, to something that very specifically suited his needs. But then they would normally change back after they weren't needed. "Dr. Trevor told me my body probably adapted to absorb metal after I got slashed with a machete. And like I played football, and I could absorb kinetic energy after my transformation. I think in weird ways my powers just answer some kind of calling. I know it sounds kinda stupid, but hey."

"That makes sense I guess. This feels like one of those points I was definitely going to reach all on its own though. As opposed to like surprise magnet beams, or mega club tails."

He was thinking about it. Travis was thinking about just asking the question, and that scared him immensely.

"Alright... I need something that can actually cut me. I gotta test it."

"That was for Broen wasn't it?"

He sighed and just held his hand out. It was pretty obvious what Travis was thinking. Then a thought occurred to him. While they did perform some brain surgery on a mutual friend, Travis didn't want to put the pressure on Jude to stab him.

Travis took the knife from Jude, closed his eyes, and stabbed through the palm of his hand, right out the other side. He didn't cry out, but he was definitely making some pained noises as he pulled it out. God it hurt so fucking much, and it took every ounce of him not to absorb the knife like he'd always do.

"Fucking hell," yeah it hurt a lot. but not for long. There also wasn't as much blood as there probably should have been. He started channeling energy at the wound, into the wound. He could feel a sort of void through the energy. That would be where he'd focus, he could feel it healing but now it was time to heal. It closed up and healed in no time at all.

"So, that shit started working right from the get go. Didn't even hurt that much after the fact. It all just kind of revolves around my base abilities."
