Is This My Punishment? [open]

Diana tried so desperately hard to look human. She had so much time to reflect on this failure on the relatively long trip to the island. It felt like she was being locked away. She didn’t want to be here. She had a life before. A perfectly normal life. But her small mess up tore it all away. Her eyes hold a mix of sadness and anger.

With a backpack and two large suitcases, she walks somewhat stiffly to the office. She desperately tries to avoid looking at the more non-human students as it only makes her more upset. Now, she had to hide her away with the rest of the freaks…

She heads straight for the admissions office, choosing not to wander around like many of the other students. “Hello, I just got in. My name is Diana Brandt,” she says to the receptionist. The receptionist nods and hands her a few forms, “Welcome, Ms. Brandt. Please look over the information for correctness and enter the rest of information. When you are done, you can hand it back to me.”

Sitting back in one of the chairs, she reads over everything. Species. Faerie. She stays uncomfortably long on that page, desperately wanting to cross out, and rewrite it. However, they would know that was a lie. Instead, she crosses it out to write the words ‘Half-fae.’ Then, she starts checking and filling out all the rest.

"They're not so keen on crossing out mistakes." A girl with black hair and a lacy, Victorian style dress peered over the counter. She was short, but made up for it with large platform shoes with a tall heel. She spoke American English with a hint of Japanese influence. Judging by her appearance she was one of the more 'normal' looking people that probably blazed through her own application for being a 'gifted human'. She smiled, as though she was apologising for being nosy earlier.

"Use this," From a cute pencil case with Sanrio characters on it, she passed some white-out tape to the girl. "It'll make your application look neater. Then you won't have to get a new one, just in case."

"I'm Konishi. I'm new here, just like you." She extended a hand out. Her nailpolish was dark, glossy black with hints of other light-reflecting colours when the fluorescent glare hit the surface. "Sorry for being nosy earlier. They're still processing my application." She gave a subtle eye roll and a playful smile. "Let's be good friends."
