Private Is This A Date?

Arno had busied himself making the meal, he even wore an apron as he prepped everything. He'd only made food for one other friend before, they'd enjoyed the food she he hoped Seyyal would too. Once everything was pretty much finished he'd text Seyyal, before getting back to the final touches. Once he heard the doorbell ring he'd zip over to the door, using a bit of wing to fly to it.

He'd open it with a smile, forgotten he was still wearing the apron. "Hello Seyyal," he'd say with a smile, "come in." He'd let her in, both excited and a little nervous. "Everything's ready, just this way," he'd lead her into room where he'd set up a little dining room for themselves.

On the table was the freshly baked bread with butter and jelly besides it. There was also the sausages Arno had spoken of, as all as some vegetable based and dishes. "Please make yourself at home," he'd say as he stepped to the table and poured some tea for the both of them. @PixelatedGlory

He'd chuckle. "I'm still getting used to it," he'd smile, "I'm used to small houses in the woods, or caves temporarily modified for us to live in." His parents didn't have access to their families's wealth back then and they had to be nomadic for safety.

The half dragon would blush. "Sorry, it's just.....first time I've had a friend over, wanted to make sure you enjoyed it all," he'd smile, "you've been really nice."

Arno would make sure everything was in reaching distance of them before taking his seat. "You look nice," he'd say, "I mean, you look nice in the armor too," he'd say, a tiny bit nervous, this was all a bit new to him.

"Adventurers?" he'd ask curiously, "I bet you have all kinds of stories." Made him think about the stories his parents would tell him, stories about the adventures of their youth. "I'd love to hear about your adventures sometime."

He'd blush at the question. "Uuh....friends I guess?" he'd clear his throat, "mainly just friends though....I'm not very good at the social stuff." He'd take a sip of his tea. "Growing up I didn't talk to a lot of people besides my parents, and once my horns grew in I wasn't able to talk to anyone at all, at least not until the conflict between my families was finally resolved."

The half dragon would sigh. "So now that I cab finally talk to people I'm trying to get better at it, make friends," he'd clear his throat. "I do find you attractive," he'd admit, "I just....don't know at what point compliments become flirting...or how soon one should start flirting after meeting someone."

"Thank you for understanding," he'd say with a grateful smile. "Another student st school is helping me some, she's a few years older, she teases me when I accidentally flirt," he'd say with a small laugh and a sigh.

"My cousins are far worse when it comes to it," he'd say with a snicker, "so much teasing and poking from them." Though in their case the teasing was more hurtful and sinister at times.

"Should see my father, he's so good at this stuff," he'd lean his cheek on his hand, "he's good at talking, doing business with charm, being all calm while doing it. I got some his calmness but not his charm."

He'd chuckle. "Yeah, action does sound better than words," he supposed that was why he was drawn to people who were forward or fighty. "I'm good with actions I think, just have to improve my talking and such."

The half dragon would pause when asked about family. "I...I do I suppose," he'd say, a bit of uncertainty in his voice. "Its complicated though," an understatement. "My father is human, his clan....well...they're...or rather they were dragons slayers, they were at war with my mom's dragon clan for a long time."

Arno would clear his throat. "So, them getting together, having me was controversial.....a lot of them hunted us, which is why we moved around for so long," he'd sigh, "they finally made peace, but it's still all odd."
