Build: Lanky Full Body Reference Like the rest of the Drakenhardt's, Iolite's hair is red; it falls well to their feet and is thick as a mane. When they're in the sun or have fed well, their hair literally shimmers with magic. Their eyes represent the gem from which they are named. They are fair-skinned, perhaps a little lighter than their father. They have iolite colored scales on their cheeks, shoulders, back, thighs, and sides. These scales also shimmer. Iolite always seems to be glowing a little, and at night, they have a soft hue of comforting light around them. Their skin is unblemished, and they have very soft, feminine features despite not being biologically male or female. Their eyelashes are on the thicker side, and they have well-pronounced lips, and an undefined jawline. Their ears are a tad sharper than the average humans. Dragon Form
Iolite's Dragon form is no larger than the average ferret with clawed forehands and longer hind legs meant for jumping and climbing. They have small wings that help them to glide from high places but not fly. They're a colorful assortment of blues and purples, with plumage located on their head along with a Unicorn-esque style horn and soft, short purple fur along most of their body. They're streaked through in bright blue. They have a tail half the size of their body with a tuft of blue fur at the end. |
Personality
Iolite is all positivity and creativity. They have a unique view of the world and a stubbornness that rivals both of their parents.
They are affable, excitable, and curious about the world, the people in it, and how everything works. Whether by bravery or naivety, Iolite doesn't get nervous or afraid of most things. They'll brazenly approach anyone and speak as boldly as a young child.
Iolite speaks only what they believe to be the truth and, unlike their Fae relatives, doesn't get offended by most things. The Dragon side of them has surged over any deception they might have acquired and replaced it with a sense of pride.
While normally obnoxious and exaggerated, Iolite has the tendency to become quiet when focused or upset. They pick up obsessions and drop them within the span of a week.
Abilities
Actives
Dragon/Human Form: Iolite can transform into their dragon form or human form at will. Enhanced agility in Dragon form along with speed, but lesser strength and durability.Flotation: Iolite can levitate up to six feet from the ground.
Rainbow Fire: Iolite can produce a rare type of magical fire with various colors. Their hair elongates with the magic allowing them to use it as a magical whip. In dragon form, their horn and tip of their tail is the fire. They can shoot the fire from their horn or hair.
Rainbow fire acts like a grease fire. But if Iolite chooses, the fire won't burn people and instead radiates beautiful colors and pleasant heat which can be used to heal surface injuries to themselves or others.
Surface wounds include things like cuts, bruising, or other readily remedied ailments. Iolite's fire cannot cure mental illnesses, sickness, disease, broken bones, concussions, or internal injuries.
Self-Age Manipulation: Iolite can change their physical age.
Tri-gender: Iolite can be male, female, or biologically genderless.
Passives
Color Feeding: Iolite feeds off sources of natural light. Does not require food or sleep, but will shrivel away if kept from a source of natural light for more than a week.Iolite's abilities require a natural light source or a reserve of light. Feeding around one hour every day is enough to recharge their reserve and feed them fully so long as they are in the sun continuously. Their reserve of light gives them approximately twelve hours.
They are constantly losing light from their reserve, shown by them softly emitting a glow in the dark or other low light situations. When their reserve is depleted their colors look washed out and they are completely drained of energy.
If they actively use this reserve, say by using their rainbow fire ability while not in a source of natural light they can keep their magic going for around an hour before their reserve is completely gone and they must recharge again.
Enhanced Senses: Iolite has an enhanced sense of smell, hearing, and eyesight like the rest of the Drakenhardt family. They can hear people whispering, smell sweat and blood at a distance, as well as pinpoint someone's scent, and can see at a great distance.
Fire Immunity: Iolite is immune to damaged caused by magical and non-magical fire and heat.
Scales: The scales on Iolite's sides, shoulders, back, and face provide armor with similar durability to well-crafted leather.
Weaknesses
Debt Bound: Is bound to the verbal debts they create. Is not bound by non-verbal forms of debt. Saying thank you to Iolite does not put you in their debt. Iolite's debts are a one-way deal, meaning only they can owe someone a debt.Iron Allergy: When touched by iron Iolite's nose runs, their eyes itch, they sneeze, cough, and get rashes where the iron touched their skin.
Lies: Can't tell a direct lie. Lying through omision and half-truths don't count against this. Lying due to misinformation is also not considered lying. Iolite must know they're lying.
