Invidia Rosales

Invidia's appearance is rather peculiar. She's on the middle ground between looking completely demonic and harmlessly human if that happens to be a thing. Sure, she might have a pair of horns curling over her skull but she doesn't exactly have that sharpness that someone would associate a demon. She carries a brooding aura but it's more like the one you'd see on someone going through a rough time rather than plotting someone else's demise.

Her demonic features include a pair of purpleish horns protruding from her forehead that curls over her head, following the shape of her skull, and black sclera surrounding her lavender irises. Normally, her eyes look soft and timid, but the coloration and the markings that surround her eyes give an opposite effect. The markings on her face seemingly point towards her eyes, including a peculiar spiral wing the side of her eyes, with a line on each side of her cheeks that point upwards. There are similar markings that appear around her body, the most visible ones appearing as a line around her arms that stop like cuffs to her wrist. Sometimes, the markings over her collar bones also fall into view. The majority of it all is concentrated on her back, with patterns slowly pointing downward. She also possesses a reptilian tail, just about the same coloration of her horns and markings that reaches just down to her heel.

Looking more into the general features, Invidia's 'default form' is a fair-skinned European beauty, with a certain rosy glow to her complexion, standing at about 5'7 feet, with a well-developed hourglass figure. Her waist-length, raven hair is almost always kept down — though nowadays she has a few moments she buns it up. Her fringe is combed away from her face in a way it kind of floats over her eyes at times.

Her alternate appearance is a more masculine form, while originally associated to lack of control in shape-shifting, it's possibly related to her moods. In her masculine form, her raven hair notably is shorter, falling in layers down to her shoulders. Many of her features have grown more definition including her shoulders and jaws. She stays easy to identify with her markings and demon features at least. Her height doesn't really change and her skin only appears to be darker by a degree. Since being accepted into the Rosales family, she has been appearing with her male form more often unless she's trying to get away from business.

In terms of clothing, her preference leans to comfortable casuals, loose clothing that's easy to move in and usually those that cover most of her markings. She would chose to wear tank tops in her female body but only on occasions — normally you can actually find her wearing a long-sleeved tunic top at a beach party just to hide her skin. She doesn't do very well in the cold either way, choosing to go for coats and sweaters even up to spring and by the time fall rolls in.​

Invidia's most defining characteristic is her brooding aura. She has this cynical air about her that just follows her around anywhere she goes. You'd sometimes just find her staring--watching people from afar and while she doesn't really mean anything by it, it's kind of hard not to feel uncomfortable. Being the person that she is, she won't be the first to approach and just settle with staring until they probably get the memo.

In some ways, people could probably call her weird, counting her many strange interests, how she often spends the day isolated in a dark room literally doing next to nothing. For the most part, she's heavily anxious mostly due to her upbringing. Only recently has she been crawling out of her shell but even that has been a struggle without much help. She keeps to herself, but when she does talk, it's almost like she doesn't have a filter to stop her.

Invidia's been getting more comfortable with herself, nowadays she can say her name without cringing about getting judged that she'd taken on the Rosales name right around the time her adoptive parents disappeared and shit went down. Other than that, she still prefers not to talk about the whole thing with other people outside of family.

In some ways she can be a bit charming, but this all gets watered down by her oddity and lack of tact. She's a bit detached to most positive emotions that she has a hard time processing them, eventually resorting to lashing out to violence if she can't get it right. Which is to say, she's a terrible one when she becomes jealous and competitive. Usually hesitant, there are few times when she forgets herself and just jumps into that obsessive state.

She doesn't quite have a lot of talents to boast but she's quite sneaky at times. Her stealth could probably be matched to a cat burglar along with some level of lock picking. Funny enough, she got to her level of skill by sneaking around her own house. She's a bit scary when holding a knife because just by a glance, she can assure you she knows what she's doing.

What most people don't usually know is that Invidia has a sweet tooth often going for pastries whenever she can. She has no problem living an entire week with only cake for meals. She has a thing for music, those especially that feature jazzy tunes that makes one snap to the tune. She likes fluffy things whether it's animals or the fabric of her clothing, snuggling up to them to her comfort.

If its not already obvious, she's kind of passive. She could go on for hours without doing anything but since attending college, she's been thrown into doing more things that keep her busy. Add more to the fact that since becoming the new leader of a gang, her free time has become non-existent with her schedule pretty much controlled by her stand-in advisor. In that vein, she doesn't like getting interrupted from she's doing but she relents when it's people she actually gives a damn about, dropping things right at the moment.

A few things to list about her fears is her fear of height which stops her from shifting into any flying creatures, a fear of open spaces, and large crowds which often keeps her from going out to parties and such. Before going socializing in large events, she'd always need a little bit of a peptalk to get her mentally prepared.​

As her name would have it, Invidia possess a unique type of empathy akin to the Sin of Envy. She has not entirely discovered this ability at its peak and considers herself only as a jinx. It seems to work unconsciously when she harbors bitter feelings towards something or someone which results to bewitching. And because she's still in her teens, bitter feelings seem to come easily and so does chaos. She tries various self-therapies to help her be at ease.​

Being born from a demonic entity, Invidia has inherited abilities that her human body can possess.

She is able to shape-shift, but only to creatures (people included) that she has seen and only up to twice her size. She was 14 when she discovered this ability. She does not have complete control over this and it is said it would take her centuries to master it. She can maintain her half human-half demon form but she is inconsistent with her gender. Either way, she still retains a humanoid shape. Her general problem is that her ability is only limited by how much she can handle. Which is to say, she only has a few minutes before she changes back. Which is another reason why Invidia is incapable of permanently making herself look completely human on a day to day basis. She somehow has better control for partial shape-shifting and it seems to last longer.

As a demon, Invidia possesses the ability to heal rapidly than normal humans. Small cuts will have healed in mere seconds and not leave any trace on her skin. She can regrow limbs but it will take some time depending on how much the damage is. Severe or fatal injuries can still kill her as she is still half-human and consequently, a mortal.

Invidia is only a half-demon. She didn't inherit her father's immortality or longevity. She is just as mortal as her mother if one doesn't count her rapid healing. As heightened emotions strengthens her power, it also affects her command over her own empathic powers. In this case, if her emotions are too strong, even for her, she might cause more damage than necessary.​
