Into The Drink

Mike had wheeled himself down to the lake a little while ago, preferring to just sit near the water and think then trying to do it anywhere else. The Lounge was packed, and would probably be until later tonight, he had been to the stables but there was a bunch of giggling girls in there and his head still ached dully from their shrieking. That left the lake, one of his favourite spots to just sit and be.

A soft sigh escaped his lips as his mind reeled over the events of the last few days. He had basically gone home, changed his clothes, grabbed his stuff and come back to SA. He couldn't stand being back in the city when who he wanted to see wasn't sure if she wanted to see him. He wrinkled his nose, trying to push his scattered thoughts away from Ora and stared once more at the calm waters of the lake. Today was probably not going to be fun.

"WHAT THE HECK!!!" her voice raised to unprecidented levels when the friendly fellow who had been welcoming her scooped her up in such a way that she couldn't fight him.

The half feline was squirming as hard as she could, but was not making any progress, when she saw a rather large body of water. The fellow grinned at her. "It's tradition that new arrivals get tossed in the drink." he said cheerfully, though Ora was starting to wonder if he just wanted an excuse to have his grubby mits around her waist.

"You better not throw me in there.." she warned, stopping squirming now, her voice deathly calm. "I will hurt you. Very badly." she was completely serious, but when he didn't seem to think she could, she started squirming again.

Moments later, she felt herself flying through the air, and suddenly getting submerged in water. She used her super speed ability to swim quickly to shore and pull herself out of the water. She looked immensely perturbed as she glared at the laughing fool.

She was soaked. Her hair clung to her head, as her clothes clung to her body, and she was uncomfortable now. She hated water. Really, really hated water.

Day dreams were easily broken by the sound of loud voices, especialy one you knew well. Mike definitely knew the voice and he looked with peaked interest as Ora came into view. When he saw that some guy had his arms around her waist he got more then a little made and immediately went over to stop him from whatever he was planning to do to her.

"Hey, she said to put her down." His voice was controlled but there was an underlying sense of anger in it, and if looks could kill this guy would be dead. He watched helplessly as the guy ignored him and tossed Ora into the water. This probably wasn't going to be cool and he rolled backwards a few feet so he wouldn't get in the way, his gaze straying over to where Ora now stood dripping wet. He couldn't help but look at her while her clothes clung to her body. He was a guy after all.

When she stood, she could feel the guy's eyes on her, and it annoyed her. She was seething. In a split second or two, she was directly in front of the man who had gotten her wet. "Take a picture. It'll last longer." And then he was on the ground, with her knee on his chest.

"I warned you." she growled, standing again. The movement she made, however, was coupled with a slight kick, which sent the guy spinning onto his face. He scrambled up onto his feet, looking a little afraid. "Now GET AWAY FROM ME YOU CREEP!" she hollered, pointing venomously.

When the fellow took off, she spun around, feeling another set of eyes on her. And then all of her anger and whatever else melted away in a smile. "Mike!" she said in an almost excited manner, though she was slightly self-concious about how she looked at the moment.

Mike laughed as he watched the other guy take a beating. From the way Ora had grabbed his wrist a few times he could imagine what it would feel like to have her angry at you. The thought made him grin in amusement but when she called his name it turned to one of happiness.

"You're wet." He remarked intelligently and unbuttoned his shirt, revealing a plain white t-shirt underneath, and handed it to her. "You don't want to get ogled at by some sleazy guy." He made a great show of ogling her, staying close, but not to close, because he was a little confused.

"What are you doing here?" A frown creased his brow. "Is everything all right?"

Ora accepted the shirt from Mike, and slipped it over her soaking body thankfully. "Well..." she leaned down and gave Mike a hug. "I missed you." she said simply, smiling at him.

Then she made a face, pulling back from him. "And right now, no, it's not so good. I absolutely hate being wet." she shook her head, sending droplets of water every which way.

"I just needed some time to calm down. Get my bearings on all the new stuff." she smiled at him again. "I think I'm ready for an adventure." she added, grinng devilishly, before planting her soggy self in Mike's lap. "If you'll take me on one." she quirked an eyebrow at him.

The sight of her still sent shivers up and down his spine. "That's strange, I missed you too." He grinned, wanting to touch her but at the same time not wanting to get wet.

"Well I don't like being wet either so get away." He crossed his gingers in an X but didn't figure she'd end up sitting in his lap. "I'll take you on an adventure, but I think you'd better get dry first." He grinned, before looking down at the wet spot she was spreading across his lap. "Uggh, you made me lose control of my bladder." He made a mock show of pushing her off then laughed and led her to his room. He rummaged around in his dresers for a moment before tossing her some clothes. "They're probably miles to big but they're better then nothing. He pointed out a bathroom where she could get changed.

Ora obediantly followed Mike up to his room and took the clothes that he offered to her. She started towards the bathroom, but couldn't resist quipping, "Some people might differ with you on that one." she said with a straight face, before turning and laughing.

She disappeared into the bathroom, and emerged again a few minutes later. The shirt was rather baggy on her, and one hand held the pants so that they didn't slip off of her hips. She grinned at him. "Ehh.. Do you have a belt, or am I going ot have to be like those weird gangsters and wear my pants around my knees?" she questioned, cocking her head to the side.

Her hair was dryer now, apparent that she'd borrowed one of his towels. It was curling slightly with the damp though, and she still looked a little soggy.

He affectionately cuffed her as she walked by with his clothes and changed his pants. Wouldn't do to go around looking like an idiot. He rummaged around and came up with a belt, handing it to her with a laugh. "I'm sure you'd get quite the few looks walking around like that." A grin flitted across his face as he hefted himself up onto the bed and erclined there, arms propping up his head as hee sat with his back against the wall.

"So Ora, why are you here? Pining to much without me? You were threatening to wither away and missed me terribly?"

Ora buckled the belt around her to keep the large pants on her hips and grinned at him. "Well I was definately not liking being alone. But..ehh.." she rubbed her barcode. "I had to get away from my appartment. I think Whyte was suspecting I lived there." she sat down. "Clara's taken over my appartment. She promised she'd send my clothes, but she hasn't gotten around to it yet." she pouted and sat on the foot of Mike's bed.

"And then I started thinking about you, and how if I ran, I'd never see you again.." she frowned, "So I decided I'd come and find you." she leaned tentatively against the footboard of his bed.
