((Oh, he can walk for tiny bits of time, but usually he can't walk at all))

Dev pushed his wheelchair out to the sea. The wheels got stuck in the sand for a moment, but he just used more arm strength and kept moving until he was satisfied by where he was: away from most anyone's sight, hiden by a tree. Though it was night, he still didn't want to risk someone seeing him.

Today he was especially in a foul mood. His legs weren't functioning correctly so they would cramp up if he tried to walk. Instead of just staying seated, Dev got the book that was shoved between his leg and the side of the wheelchair and threw it on the ground before he slowly lowered himself.

Once he was comfortable, he opened the book and began to read while the sound of crashing waves tried to calm him.

Marisol glanced out the window in her dorm room. She grabbed a black pullover and pulled it on. She slid on her shoes and left the school.

After standing just outside the school for a few minutes, she decided just to walk around. With no destination in mind, she started off.

She walked until she came to the see. Not noticing the boy(or his wheelchair), she walked past him. She slipped off her shoes and rolled up her jeans before danglinging her feet in the water.

She loved the sounds of the waves slapping against each other and onto the sand.

Dev noticed a girl walk past him and looked up. He watched her roll her jeans up and get in the water. She looked friendly enough. He tried reading her mind to see what she was thinking about but couldn't break the barrior around her mind because he didn't know her.

Deciding to see who she was, he used the tree to help him stand, locked his kneecaps in and slowly--very slowly--walked over to her.

Marisol saw something out of the corner of her eye. She jumped up. And she saw it was a boy. She blushed a deeper green. "Don't you know better than to sneak up on people like that?" She said a little rudely.

Dev only stared at her for over a full minute. "Yes, actually. I did. But thanks for reminding me." He looked her up and down. "I'm Dev."

Marisol rolled her eyes. She was very used to people staring at her, but that didn't mean it didn't annoy her. She folded her arms over her chest. "Marisol." She said simply. She sat back down.

Dev gratefully sat down beside her, uninvited. "What're you doing outside this time of night?"

Marisol studied the boy, and for the first time, she noticed the wheelchair. She shrugged. "It's not that late." She said a little sourly. "What are you doing out here?"

Dev pointed to his book nearby. "Well, I was reading until you rudely interrupted me."

Marisol put her hands on her hips. I didn't interrupt you. You came over here and started talking to me." She said crossly. She turned away and looked into the sea, resolving to ignore him and his rudeness. Okay, so she wasn't exactly nice, but he was the one that started talking to her.
