Sark had been talking for the better part of two hours. That was kind of what he was there for. They were in a cafe, and Jude was paying for food, and really? They were just hanging out. Every so often Sark would swap back into English, but by the halfway point Jude was getting enough of the gist of the conversation that he could actually reply, even if it was in English. Sark was a robot, and Jude was entirely confident that he could keep up with talking in one language while listening to another.
"So, I don't know if you spent any time in the academy," Jude said, making conversation purely for the sake of it. "But I'm considering doing the student council election thing. It seems like a good thing to fill the time with. Probably looks good on a resume, right?"
