In the Crook of a Tree...

Kelly raised her eyebrows and leaned back. "Whoa, chillax."

Uh, what should she say now? Em... "Well, this is a school for controlling your powers. And I don't remember saying I wasn't included in the 'lot of people.'" She adjusted the flower clip pinning her bangs back from the top to the bottom, then to the other side, so that her bangs hung in her face.

Kelly grinned back at Cam.

"Chill out and relax. It's not really a 'new phrase.' I heard it on Winx Club when I was watching it with my sister. I started saying it at my old school, and it caught on." She laughed.

Kelly started to say that she usually didn't watch Winx Club and that it was a stupid show, when she heard a crack. She looked up to see a large branch aiming for her head, and Cam's.

A mulitude of thoughts flashed through her head in the split second she yelled "MOVE!" Was she supposed to move, or push Cameron out of the way? Was Cam going to stand there and get crushed because she didn't push him? Would she get smashed if she pushed him out of the way?

She darted out of the way, deciding it was her best bet, and if Cam was stupid enough not to move, then maybe a falling tree branch could teach him a lesson or two.

((I'm so stupid! I forgot what my character's powers were. Protective shield... grr!))

Kelly's eyes widened and she ran towards Cam. "Oh, my gosh! Are you okay?" He didn't answer.

She kneeled down, hating herself for getting her pants muddy, but figuring she deserved it because it had been her fault. She'd just realized right when she moved, that she had powers. And what were her powers? Shields! Perfect time to use her powers, as much as she hated them. She was so stupid!

Back to Cam. He wasn't moving, but he was breathing. Kelly figured he'd hit his head on the branch or something. His hands were bleeding.

Um, what were you supposed to do when somebody was unconcious? She racked her brain for the first aid training she'd taken so long ago. She couldn't remember anything, but she knew you weren't supposed to move them, or something.

Whoa, he's awake! Kelly thought as Cam sprang up from the ground. Was that normal? She stood up too and was about to ask if he was okay, when he started babbling about someone laughing at him.

Oh, no, he was probably delusional! She guessed she should go a long with it. "NO!" she yelled back. "I didn't see anyone, but maybe you should look around, see if they're still here."
