<div align=center>Shocking. Absolutely shocking. Where was his welcome party? What was this drab little building without even a statue of himself in sight? Ridiculous. Simply ridiculous. The woman at the desk looked bored out of her mind and Malakai was simply disgusted - why weren't there hundreds of people falling at his feet? Bringing him gifts? Tutting loudly and stamping his foot, Kai folded his arms huffily. This was not what he had expected one bit, for a school supposedly full of magical beings, he felt like he was the only one in sight - and certainly the only one who could do anything worth talking about.

Tail swishing behind him, the boy's ears pricked up as a sound met them. There were undoubtedly students around, but he was confused. Sighing lightly, a hand unbuttoned the pouch on his belt, snatching up a fistful of dust and throwing it to the floor before him, where it glittered softly before exploding into an array of items, boxes, chests, and a cage with some strange creature in it that not even Kai remembered receiving. Still, it must have come from somewhere, and it appeared here now which must have meant it was probably his.

"Alright, very well then, where is my welcome party?" He asked the woman at the desk, "am I too early?"</div>

Yamato had gone to the Administration Wing with his tail practically between his legs, because he knew he was only ever summoned there when he did something wrong. And he was right: another dress code violation.

So there he was, sitting across from a woman as she wrote another warning slip for him with not a single button of his shirt buttoned, wondering why he kept getting in trouble. He thought wearing the skirt was the problem! But apparently it was the buttons too. He hated buttoning his uniform shirt. It was so uncomfortable! And the tie around his neck was even worse! He didn’t like this whole ‘school uniform’ thing. He wanted to just wear the kind of clothing he wore at Club Gambit. It was so much more comfortable, and looked so much better!

Regardless of how Yamato felt about the clothes though, a third warning could mean big trouble—like suspension from the school. So, he buttoned his shirt back up and stepped out of the office…and then promptly undid the first three buttons. As long as MOST of the buttons were done, it was good enough, right?

As he walked past the Admissions Office on his way back to his dorm, he suddenly heard a loud noise that startled him. Curious, he peeked into the office. Why was there a large pule of boxes and stuff??

Then he peered over and what he saw made him gasp. He barged right into the office and stared at Malakai like he had just seen the most rare and elusive creature of them all…

….despite the fact that they were pretty much the same damn species.

“Y-you’re a kitsune!” Yamato squeaked out, covered his cheeks with his hands. “You’re a kitsune, right?!”

<div align=center>Tail swishing softly behind him, Malakai became very aware of someone staring at him. Excellent! Perhaps this was part of his welcome party ready to whisk him away to his new sleeping quarters and carry all his things for him. You’re a kitsune, right?! Ears flicking up as the boy asked the question, Kai almost laughed, a stupid question - of course he was a kitsune? What else could he be. The excitement in the other boy's tone of voice made him lift an eyebrow, he supposed he was rare and beautiful, who could blame him? "Ah! Greetings!" Kai's accent came out thickly, and he flashed the other kitsune a charming little smile as he drew to the end of his sentence.

"Of course! You are the same, no?" He wondered how old the other kitsune was, he was like a child in the way he behaved, but Malakai knew far better than that. Realistically, thinking about it, he probably should have kept all his things packed away until he'd been ushered into his dorm, they were littering the hallway and making a mess, but perhaps that would give something to that woman at the desk to do, she was practically half asleep at her post. "I am Malakai Siraaj Nazaari," he greeted, before tagging 'the fourth' onto the end just for a bigger impact - he wasn't the fourth, he probably wasn't even the first. He had no clue who his father was. "Who might be standing before me?"</div>

Yamato was simply beaming when Malakai spoke to him. He was really interested in the fact that Malaki had the accent he did—Yamato thought kitsune were all Japanese? But he was instead meeting a kitsune from somewhere else! It was all very exciting!

“Yes! I am the same!” Yamato replied hastily as his tail swished back and forth. He only realized then that his excitement might have been a bit…much, and tried to calm himself down a little. Which proved to not be easy for the excitable kitsune.

“I’m sorry I just ran up to you like that—it’s just that I’ve never met a fellow kitsune before!” Yamato said before he suddenly bowed because…he just felt like he needed to bow to Malakai. Partially to apologize, but also because Malakai just had an air about him that made Yamato feel like he should be more formal.

“I was a Kuda-kitsune, but then my pipe broke, so now I’m just a regular kitsune! …I guess? Is that how it works?” Yamato tilted his head, having not thought about it before. He couldn’t very well be a ‘pipe fox’ without a pipe, right? So he was a regular kitsune now? Maybe?

It wasn’t long before Yamato lost that train of thought as Malakai asked who he was.

“My name is Yamato!” he replied with a big smile. “I’m really happy to know that there is another kitsune at this school! Maybe…uh…maybe we could be friends?” He let out a little sheepish laugh as he poked his index fingers together. “O-or is that too forward…?”

<div align=center>Malakai thought it was strange how this boy was so excited about his presence - though then again, he was also really rather pleased with it. Of course others should get excited about him, he was great and powerful and very important. Though having never seen another kitsune? That was odd. In his travels, Kai had met more than a few, each being incredibly different from the next. They were scattered everywhere, although he didn't think he'd ever met one quite as impressive as himself. "Never? Have you been shut away all your life?" He asked, tail flicking behind him and both ears pricking forwards.

A kuda-kitsune. That meant he had been summoned, laughing at the thought of ever being owned by someone, Malakai shook his head, though never said anything. But now this boy was practically exploding with excitement and Kai wasn't exactly sure how to deal with him, he'd been around other kitsunes in the past, though not for a long while - they weren't as common as they once were, faded to non-existence when they had been forgotten about. A ghost of a frown crossed his features as he thought about that. "Friends?" They barely really knew each other - but this was probably a nice opportunity to bend someone into doing things for him. "Perhaps, you can help me carry my things, no?"</div>

“Well, most of it, yes…” Yamato murmured, scratching at the side of his cheek. “My pipe broke only recently, so I’m still getting used to a lot of things.”

And while Yamato had made friends since leaving his pipe, he always really really wanted a kitsune friend to talk about…kitsune…things? Alright, so he hadn’t thought that far ahead with it, but he knew he really wanted a kitsune friend.

“Of course I’ll help!” Yamato immediately volunteered, having not really paid attention to the amount of stuff that Malakai really had. When he did look, though, that big grin on his face faltered ever so slightly.

“W-wow, you have a lot of stuff…haha…” Yamato said with a nervous laugh. But he already said he would help, and there was no way he would back out from something after agreeing! He started pacing around the pile of stuff, pondering how they were going to be able to move everything.

“Did you just come here? I haven’t been here very long myself. Only about a week!” Yamato said as he tentatively lifted a chest to see how much it weighed…or tried to lift. It was so heavy he could only barely get a corner off the floor. This was…not going to be fun…
