I'm sitting on top of the mountain!

It was cloudy when Elliot reached to top of the mountain. He took off his wide brimmed hat, jacket and shades. He took off his pack, and removed from it, one of his flasks out of it. He took a long draft from it, wiped of the red drink from his lips, and placed the flask in the snow, "Great. It warmed up on the way here. Now I've got to wait."

He sighed, got up, and decided to take a look around.

"What a hike." Aldora said to herself, panting a bit. "But so worth it." Even though it was a cloudy day she could see quite a distance. The way up was hard, but she was used to difficult travel. The harder it is to get there, the better the place. Still, it had been a while since any of them had taken such a difficult trek and she was out of breath. Not so much that she couldn't talk, but she wouldn't be running anytime soon.

As she neared the peak, she noticed someone up there. "Hey!" She called, it had a lot of air and didn't travel as far as it could.

Elliot was walking around, taking in the sites, when he heard somebody approach.
"Well, what's this now, I wonder? If it's a boy, I kill them," he muttered to himself, "If it's a girl, she lives."

When he heard the feminine voice call out to him, turned to face her, smiled, and said to himself, "you lucky girl, you almost died."

"Hello there! Nice of somebody to drop by!" he said, then chuckled to himself, as he thought- alright, another star wars quote!

"And how are you, my dear! Come join me in this glorious afternoon!"

Aldora walked the last few feet and then slumped down next to a rock. "I wasn't... expecting... anyone... to be here." She huffed, giving him a smile. She then proceeded to shakily pull out her camera and take pictures of the view.

"Yeah, it's not a bad day, and as long as I can see a ways, I'm happy."

"I have been up here for an hour or so," Elliot explained, " I've never been to these mountains, I didn't think it was possible to have them here. As soon as I saw them this morning, my usual bad mood went away, and I came here to explore." He motioned for her to follow, "Come, let us adjourn to my camp, of sorts, the sun is about to come out, and it would be a terrible shame if we were caught in the light up here. There's so much snow, we won't be able to see."

On the way back, he hesitated for a second, and turned around to face the girl. "Oh, where are my manners! My name is Elliot Hastings, and you are?"

"An hour? Guess that explains why you're used to the lack of oxygen." She was getting her breath back now.

Aldora didn't really trust the guy she was talking to, but when she told her to follow him she stood up, brushing the snow from her jeans and followed. He made a good point, sun and snow never make a good combination. Sometimes the snow melts, sometimes the snow blinds you.

Aldora stopped when he did. So his name was Elliot. He did seem nice enough. Gentlemen like him were a dying breed. "I'm Aldora." She said, putting emphasis on the 'I'm.' "Nice ta meet cha." She gave him a lopsided grin.

"My dear, I do not need oxygen...I breathe because I enjoy the tastes that ride on the air."
As he walked, he began to quicken his pace, putting his blonde hair into a ponytail.

"You're Aldora? What, does that mean you have a twin?...That would be interesting..." He asked her, then began musing to himself.

"So, Aldora. You must be quite the explorer to have wanted to come up here. I'm so high strung at the school...I need to run. You can try to keep up, and I'll slow down a little for you, but I need to hurry and get to my things, 'lest the hateful Sun catches us, and my time runs out."
He smiled a toothy smile, scratched his beard, and began to run. It was slow at first, but within moments, it was all that he could do to keep himself slow enough to stay in her sight.

"Catch up if you can, my dear!" He said with a giddy laugh, "I need a drink, and what I brought is with my pack-unless it was taken-and I need to drink, for your safety."

'I really hope she does keep up,' Elliot thought to himself, 'she's so much fun!'

Aldora paused when he said he didn't need oxygen, but started up again after reminding herself that she'd be dead already if she was in danger.

"Oh, not a twin, none of us are the same ages. We just... share the same body is all." She shrugged.

"I suppose you could say I'm an explorer. I just think of it as trying to find places I can escape to when I'm in a pinch." She stopped talking when he picked up speed. She really wasn't completely recovered from her hike up. But... she slowed down just a tad and stretched a portal open in front of her. "Who needs to run?" She smiled a bit as she ran through to a place some ways ahead.

The smile, however, melted as she ran off the edge and gripped a branch for safety. "Stupidstupidstupid. Whatever happened to looking before you leap?"

(Gomennasai, I don't know what was wrong with me.)

"sharing the same body...that's interesting...wait...something's wrong" he said, as he stopped dead. He sniffed the air, and listened for the sound of her breath, the beating of her heart.
"where on earth did she go? what the bloody hell is going on now at this insane place?"

Then he heard her voice "stupidstupidstupid" he turned to see where the sound came from, and saw her hanging over the edge of the mountain. He ran to help her, and looked down at her hanging off the edge.

"My dear, there are easier ways to enjoy the view...or were you trying to escape me? Here, let me help you up."
Of course, with Elliot's luck, the branch that Aldora was holding on to began to break, he could hear it, the fibers in the roots breaking off of the cliff.
"All right, I don't mean to scare you, but that tree, that that branch is on...it's dead, and it's about to fall...I'm going to help you up, just give me a second."
Elliot moved forward at a painstaking pace, but the roots gave way, and Aldora fell.
"Son ova...HOLD ON ALDORA!" and Elliot jumped.

Eliot dived straight off the cliff, and shouted "ALDORA! SPREAD YOUR ARMS AND LEGS OUT! WHEN I GET CLOSE, PULL THEM BACK IN, OK!" When she did as he requested, he could visibly see how much the extra drag slowed her body down. When he got close enough, she pulled herself tight. Eliot grabbed her, pulled her closer to him, and rotated, so that he would hit the ground first, and absorb the impact. 'This girl, so exciting!' he thought to himself, 'I wonder what of mischief we could get into together?'

A split second later, they landed in the snow. Eliot instantly let go of Aldora, dug his way out of the snow, and helped her back up.

"Well, that was interesting, wasn't it? but now...we have to get back up the mountain as soon as possible...every second counts out here...i need protection, and a drink!" He said, and began to uncoil a rope that was tied around his left ankle. "The quickest way back," Eliot noted, "would be to climb. This rope is made of some of the strongest fibers on the earth, and will hold your weight a million times over. If you wished, I could tie you a harness, and anchor yourself to me, so that we may safely climb. Don't worry about the extra weight to me, I'll be fine." after pausing for a moment to let her catch her breath, he added:

"Or, if you so wish, we can walk back up the path that I took up. Either way is fine by me; Whatever you choose, we must be quick about it...I can only last another...30 minutes after the clouds dissipate...then I will die."
