"Azucena, sweetheart, are you really sure about this?" Bel asked her friend with an extremely skeptical look on her face. "A fortune teller? Really?" she added her tone slightly mocking as she followed the younger girl across the semi-crowded courtyard.
"Why not? I, it can't hurt, right?" Azucena replied glancing at the blonde girl, somewhat unsure now, as they neared the meeting place.
"Geez, Azu..." Bel frowned at her innocence, "Fortune telling can hurt," the young goddess stated heatedly. "Especially in the hands of the uninitiated," she remarked giving her a wary look. Bel, herself, could see people's life paths and destinies, but couldn't and wouldn't prophetize. Doing so, and getting it wrong, causing the recipient grief, had serious consequences to which Bel had no intention of finding out about ever, and so kept her mouth shut about the future of those around her... even if meant the future of someone, like her friend Azucena, was placed in the hands of a potential charlatan. In fact, Bel's plan was to dissuade Azucena from believing anything that she knew to be untrue or might cause Azucena unnecessary grief.
"He's not uninitiated," Azucena remarked in an almost defensive tone.
"All fortune tellers, unless they are like 90 years old and have been practising for 80 years, are uninitiated," Bel shot back, not at all offended by Azucena's defensiveness.
"Bel, please, just...don't, I know what I'm doing, and it's just for fun, okay?" Azu said with a sigh as they approached the area where they were supposed to meet Lucan. She knew Bel meant well, but if she kept on about fortune-tellers being frauds or something similar she was going to scream.
