Second time's the charm, right? Or was it the third? Alex couldn't remember, but after what happened to Elizabeth, he needed to be more careful with his pranks. Being in a new area wouldn't stop him from having fun. That just wasn't fair. Maybe instead of a small, fragile girl, he'd go for someone who looked much tougher. This way, he could avoid people who would start panicking at the slightest hint someone was touching them.

Walking down the city, Alex observed the people around him. There were more people out at night than as expected, but he had to remind himself some people were nocturnal, not diurnal like he should have been as a human. He stuck close to the alleyways in case he found the right target, ready to hide and tease them once the time was right. It was going to be hard with so many people around, but this could be considered a challenge. Now he just had to wait and find the right person.

Dressed in his usual black garb and leather jacket, Isaac lurked down the city streets, hoping to come across some young lady to draw in with his charming aura for a quick meal. Blood always tasted better when it was straight from the source...there was just something more satisfying about it than drinking from a donated blood pack. Of course, he only drank from the willing...but with his charm, most of his meals were willing anyways.

Isaac slipped from one alley to the next, keeping in the shadows for the most part. He was a creature of the night, after all, and liked to stay hidden in the darkness rather than walk under the glare of the streetlights. The streets were far from empty, but he mostly passed families or couples who were on their way to or from dinner, or just taking a stroll and enjoying the weather...Isaac sighed a little and kept going, without much hope for a meal at this point. Maybe when it got later into the night he would have more luck.

There seemed to be another person sticking to the alleyways like Alex. He was pale with a dark outfit, making Alex snicker lightly at how generically "bad boy" he appeared to be. Hiding in the shadows didn't help that idea too. But the boy was quick and stealthy, which made him a challenge. It looked like they were both looking for something to do, though unlike the boy, Alex wasn't sighing in disappointment. He thought he finally found his next victim.

This time Alex decided to be more gentle with the poke than his time with Elizabeth. As he stuck to the shadows of an alleyway, he summoned his arms, and lightly poked the boy with a finger from one of his hands. Maybe it would have been better if he blended into the crowd to avoid getting caught, but it was too late now.

Isaac felt something prod at his shoulder and whirled around with a soft hiss. What was that? Everyone kept moving, except for one boy. Isaac narrowed his eyes and just stared at him for a minute, then approached him. "Can I help you?" he said dryly, obviously not really wanting to help him at all. He just wanted to know why he'd been prodded at...though he wasn't sure how the boy possibly could have reached him from that distance. He'd been the only one staring at him, though, so he had to have been the culprit.​

Alex supposed he was more obvious than usual. This new environment had him off balance. If he were back home, he would have gotten away with this easily. "Uh, I don't think so. Something wrong?" He faked confusion and put on a nervous smile, though the nervousness wasn't all fake. "Sorry, was I staring? Sometimes I zone out. Whoops."

Isaac could hear how his pulse increased just a little. The boy was lying. He wasn't really sure what to do about it, though. Isaac had no proof that the boy had touched him, so he supposed he should just let the kid go. Whatever.

"Uh-huh," Isaac replied dubiously, flashing his fangs to let the kid know that a vampire was not one to be messed with. If he wasn't careful, the kid might become his next meal. Not that Isaac would kill him, of course, but he would certainly take some of his tasty, tasty blood. Turning back around, Isaac continued forward in his search.​

Alex jumped back at the boy flashing his fangs; then shot an annoyed glare when he turned away. It was just a poke. Why was this kid trying to show his dominance for something so small? Was everyone on this island sensitive to everything?

Annoyed by the boy's attitude, Alex gave him a small shove when he turned away, then went to blend into the crowd, acting like he was minding his own business. Now that he was blending into the crowd again, he didn't stand out as much. He wanted to get something else to eat before being a nuisance again. There had to be a pizza shop somewhere around here.

Isaac felt someone shove him and whirled around again with a growl. That boy was in for some trouble. He'd already turned and started walking away, but Isaac was fast. With speed too quick for anyone else to really notice, he zoomed after the boy, grabbed him, and dragged him into the nearest alley, holding him by his shirt and pinning him up against the wall.

"Listen, kid. I know that was you. What's your problem? You want a fight or something?"

Now, Isaac was not typically a violent person. He tended to live his life peacefully and just tried not to be noticed, as he had when he'd lived with his parents. It was how he'd grown up. But Isaac was also hungry, which was apparent by the way his eyes shone dark red in the dim light of the alley, and being hungry put him in a bad mood.​

Alex thought that would be the end of his encounter, but before he knew it, he had his back against the wall and his feet off the ground in a dark alleyway out of everyone's sight. He tried to hold up his hands in a submissive gesture, avoiding looking into the boy's red eyes.

"Woah there. I wasn't trying to start anything. I was just messing around. Y'know, teen stuff?" A shaky smirk appeared on his face. "What are you though? A vampire?" What a stupid question to ask. The boy had fangs, incredible reflexes, and glowing red eyes.

Teen stuff. Isaac considered that for a long moment. That actually sounded kind of...fun. It had been a while since he'd messed with anyone, mostly because he'd been going through a lot with his master's murder and his move to the island...he hadn't had time to get into any trouble yet.

Isaac released the boy and let him drop the few inches to the ground. "A vampire, yes," he replied. "Not wise to mess with a vampire when they're hungry. I suppose you should have picked a better target. For instance," he glanced over at an overweight-looking man who was standing near the entrance to the alley, facing the other way and talking on his cell phone, "one that likely cannot chase you down afterwards."​
