DeShawn had mulled over his options in the day following the debacle with the asset Aren. He had the hard drive, for sure. But he couldn't be sure that no one else had seen the contents. It definitely had been tampered with by someone, and frankly he wasn't betting on the kid being able to do it himself. He wasn't that clever after all.
Talking to his men, Grayson and Trevor had eagerly agreed to be the scapegoats for this one. He needed to get a good foot in the door with these monsters. And looking at their legal system, his men wouldn't be incarcerated for too long. Just enough time for him to cultivate the appeal he needed.
Stepping into the police station, dressed in khakis and a button up collared shirt, DeShawn looked as respectable as he could. He milled about the front waiting area for a bit, waiting for an officer to look like they were free. He repeated the mantra in his head that they were cops. Monster cops, but still cops. He could deal with cops. He hadn't done anything wrong. He hadn't shot that kid in the head. Not one bit. DeShawn approached the first officer he saw who wasn't innately busy. Shoulders squared. Confident, but solemn. This was a serious matter.
"Apologies for bothering you this morning, but I'd like to report a crime."
