Name: Ian Florence Smith.
Age: 26
Birthday: May 2nd
Gender: Male - He/Him pronouns
Species: Human
Category: Staff
Class: High School
Subject/Work: Visual arts teacher
Appearance Description: Ian stands at roughly 5'9". He has caramel skin with noticeable darker bags under his eyes. He also does have a darkened nose that's more noticeable at the tip of it. He has somewhat wavy brown hair, with it being an undercut. The longest his hair reaches is to the bottom of his ears. Were it to grow out, it'd reach his chin. He also does have facial hair in the form of a beard and mustache. The hairs themselves are short in length but aren't stubble.
He has light blue pupils accompanied by downturned eyes. He does have a few scars on his torso, one most notably being one that is almost a full ring around his left shoulder. These scars are hidden underneath his clothing, however.
Personality Description: Upon meeting Ian, he tends to be very distant. He comes off as rather emotionless, and altogether hard to get to know. This is mainly seen with his interaction with his age group and up, especially with men. With teenagers and children, Ian does show a bit more emotion with the first meeting.
If you're one of the individuals who get close to Ian, he will start showing his actual personality. He's protective and loyal and tends to behave very much like a dad, but still retaining that level of formality and being closed off. Ian also does have quite a bit of temperance; being able to keep down his violent emotions that boil deep within him. His nature is like his because of his past involving his dad and not wanting to be vulnerable to abuse.
Powers: Ian hones a scythe as his weapon. It can change size from handheld to a yard (~3 feet) long, but this ability can be used only 2 times a day, and not repetitively. He received this scythe during his time in the Academy and is how he channels his powers. Ian also hones some magic attack, but only with his scythe, and even then it's not powerful. Ian can butt people back 5 feet with a basic spell, and create a minor forcefield that only lasts a few minutes (5 minutes.), and cannot be performed several times, or else Ian will become very tired. When he gets tired, he is physically exhausted and has to sleep for 12 hours to regain full energy. If he tries to push himself to use his powers despite being drained, he will strain his muscles and make himself pass out. Under a full moon, he does have more power than usual, but that's only exclusive during the specific moon phase. During the full moon, his forcefield duration goes from the usual 5 minutes to 10 minutes, and the distance people are pushed back is from 5 feet to 8 feet.
Biography:
Ian was born as Vincent Montoya and lived in France until he was 12. His childhood was not pleasant by any means, his father being rather abusive physically and emotionally to him and his mother. He started drawing as a way to vent out his emotional pain. After a very serious incident where his father caused most of Vincent/Ian's scars, a decision was made to send him to a foster home. The worker on the case, Ms. Pierre, decided to send the boy to America to a friend of hers, Avery Smith. This was supported even more when it was confirmed that Vincent/Ian's mother was unable to be his guardian as she was too traumatized to suitably raise him.
When he moved to America, Vincent became Ian Montoya, his middle name remaining as it was one of the few reminders of Ian's biological mother. Ian had to be taught English in school, so this heavily impacted his school courses. As a result, Ian had many tutors. This was one of the things in school that had Ian get picked on for, besides his sexuality and his very obvious fear of men.
Initially, to cope with his trauma, Ian became a street rat, resorting to picking fights and underage drinking. After serious intervention at the age of 15, Ian returned to drawing and began doing it very religiously, slowly closing himself up even more from the world around him.
He came into knowledge of his powers at the age of 17, where he met a Scout for Starlight Academy. Ian hadn't realized that he had powers that were manifesting in him as time went on. He was offered the chance to attend Starlight Academy, but Ian wanted to finish high school before doing so. So once he graduated, Ian attended Starlight Academy for college, where he got his scythe and knowledge of magic.

Additional Information:
- Ian's native language is French, and he knows enough English to manage in everyday life. However, he isn't super fluent in English at all, as he doesn't know a lot of big words. He has a pocket dictionary for this reason.
- He does have a fear of men (as previously noted) and a fear of sensory deprivation. His fear of the male gender does often affect him, but isn’t crippling. He can still maintain a formal conversation with men, but he isn’t as direct. If someone who is a man does get close to him, he will absolutely trust them, though deep down he is still weary.
