The rain felt nice on Dalia's abdomen. It wasn't a stormy day, just a light drizzle in the middle of the afternoon. The sun still peeked out from behind the clouds and the cool raindrops contrasted with the warmth of the sun in a really nice way.
Dalia was having one of her had days again. Phaedra was out on a date with that zombie boy, her moms and aunt Chloe we're all doing their own things. And not that Dalia had any problems with Amber or Ossa, but they weren't who Dalia wanted to spend time with right now. It was as good a day as any to be alone, right?
The crimson spiderling found her way into an old drain pipe, a giant circle with water trickling out into a creek below. It was dark and it smelled weird, but the darkness was strangely welcoming. She crawled in, exploring the not quite labyrinthine tunnels and using a spool of thread following in her wake to make sure she didn't lose her way.
Dalia came to a grate in the pipes, a point barring her from going any further.
