Being outside had to be one of the best things in the world. Live would never understand people who were content with being locked inside buildings all day. You had to get outside! You had to breathe the fresh air and look at the sky. Especially at night. Oh, especially at night!
It was about 10 PM when Live decided that her room was not where she wanted to be for the rest of the evening. She quickly grabbed her Sharpie-d aztec bag and headed out the door.
As soon as she was out of her building Live quickly changed into her shadow form and began to shadow travel away from campus. She wasn't exactly sure what the guidelines were for curfew and such but she didn't care. Like, seriously. She did not care.
During the day, it was much harder for Live to shadow travel for much longer than a few miles. She had to kind of slither her form through the few shadows that were out. However, night was completely different. Everything was dark. The world was connected in one big blanket of darkness and Live was connected to all of it. Shadow travel became less like slithering and more like transporting. Her form could wiz through the darkness, pulling energy from the night around her to keep her stamina up even longer. It was really quite the exhilarating feeling.
Soon she arrived at Oceania Park. She had seen it on a map a few days ago and was dying to check it out. It was quite beautiful and she was glad she had made the trip. To make things even better, it was a Friday night so there weren't really a bunch of people at the park. In fact, there wasn't anyone. Live found herself a bench near the woods, right before a trail, and sat down. She pulled out a little box about the size of her hand and opened it.
Ah, her last joint. She had gotten two free joints from some random girl at McDonald's. She had hated the forced conversation but it got her free weed so who was she to complain? If only she knew someone to get more from.
She lit the joint and pulled out a notebook and a black Sharpie. She leaned back and opened to a clean blank page. The notebook was tattered and beat up, like it got plenty of use. Extra pieces of paper stuck out and sticky notes poked out as well, marking pieces Live still had to finish.
