I really just don't want to be here.

Oh, great. One of those mothers that had to have everything big and fancy, and he got the feeling she was a control freak, too. Well, hopefully she would be nice. "Heh, sounds great," Nicolas said, forcing a delighted tone and smile, though he hoped she couldn't tell he was forcing it. "Can't wait to meet her... what's your dad like?"

Hopefully her dad would be the opposite, though he wouldn't be surprised if he was the exact same.

Mery considered her next words so they wouldn't come out wrong. "Well, he's Dad. He's more...personable than mom, but, well, they do have things in common. They're rather well..." Mery stopped. There were two things about her that she wasn't very happy with. 1) She was blind. 2) Her parents were rich.
She cleared her throat. "They're rich."

"They're rich."

Oh, great, they were rich too! Her mother was probably going to be stuck up. She was already a control freak, couldn't have anything be small, and he was almost sure being stuck up came along with that list of traits. Nicolas doubted they were going to like him, seeing as how he was an orphan, wasn't exactly rich, and his little brother had problems. Not like he cared, really; all he cared about was that Mery loved him.

But... he did wonder why had she never told him. Ah, well, not like it mattered.

"They aren't going to like me, are they?" the seventeen-year-old asked softly.

"They aren't going to like me, are they?"

Mery shook her head. "It would be impossible for anyone not to like you." She said assuringly. Okay, so her parents didn't get along with everyone, but how could they not like Nicolas? He was so sweet and...
Just then she remembered Sabriel. The worst possible thing that could happen was that Sabriel would have a mood swing in front of her parents. That would not be good.

Nicolas laughed. "You sure?" he asked, not wanting to bring up him reasons for believing otherwise at the moment. He knew that if Sabriel came along to meet her parents with them, he was going to have to take his medication. The last think the older male wanted to happen was for his little brother to have a mood swing.

Mery smiled. "Would I lie to you?" She said firmly. Her parents HAD to adore Nicolas. It was impossible NOT to. And they would adore Sabriel too. If he took his medication.

Mery nodded. "Yes, and yes." She replied simply. "Sabriel has to. He's your little brother." That was true, and she didn't want him to go nuts.

"Right," Nicolas said. "I just hope he doesn't have a mood swing or anything..." The male sighed, deciding that, like she said, Sabriel would have to come to. He just hoped his little brother could actually try and behave for this, seeing as how it was quite important.
