Hella blinked nice and slow. Tapped her finger to her chin. Thinking. "I went with the Earl of Bleak. The Queene needed him returned. He committed a high crime you see, and fled here to escape punishment."

Her mouth broke into that same unsettling smile. "And I'm the Queen's new favorite pet, and I was already here. So she asked me to bring him home."

A lie. Well not quite a lie, but certainly not the truth. Oh it felt so good to lie, even if it was only for this one thing. Even if it was just more of the Queene's magic affecting her. Any specific order she gave would have to be carried out above all else, even above the general rules of Ebonyridge. And she Queene had told her no one was to know she had killed the Earl.

"I had until the new moon to bring him back, or I would be punished severely. So I had to make a snap decision when I finally tracked him down." The truth but still not all of it.

"She decided to keep me for a couple of months to celebrate me being such a good pet."
There was venom dripping in the word 'celebrate' though her facial expression never changed.

Well, that was... a thing. Angelo simply stared, his eyebrows rising higher and higher as Hella said more and more. She'd kidnapped him, and she'd confessed as much. His fate was unknown, but it seemed clear that the Earl had not gone willingly.

So kidnapping. And maybe more, but with Fae it would be beyond difficult to figure out. Time flowed differently, and there was a very real possibility that the Earl might show up again, having spent years in underhill. Or maybe he'd show up having only been gone a day.

Fuck.

"I... alright." Angelo said, squinting at Hella a moment longer.

"Well..." He was good and thrown, that was for sure. He wasn't used to that kind of... weird, kind of creepy confession. "I have a warrant here to get you to come with me, but if you're going to come willingly, that's a lot easier, and it's a mark in your favor. They'll want to... question you back at the station, and you can give a full statement there."

"A warrant..." Hella's heart was racing now. She wanted to cry, but frankly she had cried herself out over the past couple of months in Ebonyridge. So instead she just nodded.

"Let me just..." Hella bent down and addressed her stuffies, who stood around staring blankly at Angelo with their shiny button eyes. She cooed to them like a mother, telling them that she had to go for a bit and that they shouldn't worry. Told them that Lars was in charge until she got back. They were stock still, and the pack of expression on their faces made it impossible to tell if they understood her or not. Slowly though, all twelve of them nodded and bowed their heads.

Standing back up and clapping her hands together with a smile, Hella turned to Angelo again. "Alright officer. I'll go to give a formal statement. Ah, you should know. I have a dagger on my hip. I can't get rid of it, and if you take it from me it'll just be right back in my hand. So... yeah."

It was weird, but then a lot of htings on Manta Carlos were. The stuffed animals were not alive, but she spoke to them like they were. They were... dolls? Tools. Something. It was a weird grey area, and Angelo paused.

"I'm supposed to bring the - uh, stuffed animals. As well. Not sure what you want to call them, but I'm supposed to bring all of them." Or all of them he could find. He wasn't sure how many there were, or how many there were supposed to be. "Thanks for the notice on the dagger, anyway."

He wasn't really concerned. Maybe he should have been, but she was being up front. She was being honest. She seemed a bit deranged in a way that so many fae were, but he wasn't going to hold that against her too hard.

Hella frowned and looked at Angelo. Her frown was a severe, sharp looking thing now. "Why do you need my Einherjar? They haven't done anything."

She whined to a point on this. "They aren't sentient. They can't answer questions."
Her voice dropped, as though she didn't want her stuffies to hear her. "They're like animals. Really smart animals, but still animals. Please, I don't want anyone to hurt them. They're... really all I have anymore."

Oh boy. It wasn't quite resistance, but it wasn't going easily either.

"They aren't sentient, which means they don't stay separate from you either. They're considered to be an extension of your self, or your powers. We can't have them wandering around on their own, so they need to be kept near you."

Plus, who knew what the fuck they could get up to. They could take orders and carry them out, and having them do shit while they were at the station...

Well, that would be bad.

"They can just come with us in a big group."

"You won't hurt them? Or destroy them? I... they're like my babies. I don't want to lose them."

Hella looked at her stuffies, then back to Angelo. There was the briefest of considerations. She could maybe get away. Out the window. But she wasn't a criminal, not in any way that would give her the know how to escape and stay hidden. Get off island or whatever.

"Okay..." she finally relented. "If you won't hurt them... t-they can come with us. Just please."

Cripes. Why did he feel guilty? Probably because he knew the truth - if they really were non-sentient, non-living animated objects that had been used in a crime, they'd probably be stuffed in an evidence locker forever.

"I'm not going to hurt them," Angelo pointed out as he stepped back, gesturing for Hella to head down the hall. "At the moment I'm more worried about accidentally leaving one behind, so lets keep 'em all together so none of them end up abandoned on the side of the road by accident, alright?"

Hella looked between Angelo and her stuffies for a long while before coming to her decision. She smiled weakly at the officer and nodded once.
"Alright everyone. On second thought, we're all going together! It'll be fun, right?"

The stuffies looked at each other as if uncertainly, but then one by one they lined up behind Hella in three rows of four. Tight, military-like formation.
Seingly satisfied with this, Hella turned back to Angelo and smiled again. "Ready when you are, officer."

Angelo took a careful headcount of the stuffies, worried that when he got to the station he'd be down one or two. There were so many, and keeping track of all of them? Excruciating. So he was very thankful for the formation, making it that much more obvious.

"Right this way, please," Angelo said, wondering if he was going to be able to fit all twelve in teh back.
