Pasha was well aware that the exterior looked like shit. He'd hacked together the signage himself without a second thought, and he'd purchased the building knowing it was in a sketchier neighbourhood than most people would look to start a business. Heck, it was halfway hanging into an industrial park, and a lot of his clients were actually workers there.

"The exterior is how I like it." It prevented too many people from poking in out of curiousity. It spread by word of mouth and kept things small. He wanted to remain low key for a reason; people weren't too fond of the Soviet Union, even less so outside of Russia. It was a somewhat dangerous situation to be in until he could return.

Would he ever be able to, though?

Pasha gave a vague nod. "It is fair for what I use." None. He used absolutely none. In the meanwhile, he took another glass and poured some vodka in before gently tapping it across the table, stopping just an inch away from Ignatius' elbow. Part of him was curious as to how much he needed to pump into the man to get him drunk. He was even taller than Pasha was, damn it.

As for being wall off in Russia, he shrugged. "Not quite, but you may consider it." He was well off once upon a time, during his heydays. He may have still technically been relevant, but it was the wrong kind of spotlight.

He was having a hard time imagining why he would like it. Perhaps he was not a businessman at all. Perhaps it was a front, and the man - Pasha - actually worked for the Russian mafia.

He had not considered that option before he came, and he felt slightly uncomfortable at the thought of it. He didn't want to be seen with anyone who was involved in that sort of shady business if at all possible. He kept his nose clean, after all, and he strove to take advantage of everything that implied.

He eyed the offered Vodka for several moments before finally reaching over and taking it, giving it a sip. One did not generally sip vodka, but he wanted to know the quality of what he was imbibing before he knocked it back. It wouldn't take all that much to get him drunk, but he almost never actually did get drunk, because he had enough self control to stop himself.

"I must confess I'm impressed with how we'll you're handling your not-well-off-money. Surely you must have gotten a loan to be able to afford this place." Or perhaps he wasn't, and the whole business was deep in the red, and about to go under.

No, one definitely did not sip vodka. In fact, the sight of Ignatius sipping at the clear liquid made Pasha raise a brow at him, lips pressed into his usual unimpressed line. Taking it down in shots was the usual way, or mixing it in a drink was how you wanted to sip at it. The best tasted like alcoholic nothing, and the worst tasted like fuel. There was no reason to savour either in its natural state, really.

Pasha sighed, picking up the bottle and observing it for a moment as if it held some deep secret, twisting it in his gloved hand before pouring himself another shot.

"I have no loans." He took the shoot without so much as a hesitation or a flinch. Vodka was much like water to him now, and considering his liver held up to it well enough and regenerated faster than it could be damaged, there was literally no harm.

He reached over at that point, pouring Ignatius another shot and looking at him expectantly. "But now I must ask, what does this matter to you?" Why did he come in asking him all these questions on where he got his money from and why or how he opened the business. He mentioned just checking up on the health of new businesses, but Ignatius didn't appeal to him as the sort who would do it out of the goodness of his heart.

Pasha poured himself another, then held out the glass as if to give him a cheer. The same expectant look was plastered on his face.

No loans. It was all he could do not to audibly sigh with relief. No loans meant that Marco was not yet making himself an issue. Or at least he was not yet making himself an issue on this specific matter. Pasha was suddenly a non-entity - a man nearly as tall as he was, but one who clearly had no business sense. Or at least not any good business sense. The business might very well be a front for all he could care, and he didn't lift the vodka again, leaving it where it was on the counter. He had no interest in vodka.

He wasn't much of a liar. Not because he couldn't, but because he preferred to save his lies for when they'd be most effective. "I'm always curious when a new business opens up, because where the funding comes from is a matter of business for me." He was seeking his competition, in so many words.

It seemed his intention of abandoning the vodka would not do, and he paused before picking it up, unsure of exactly what he wanted before deciding it was probably 'not to waste alcohol', he knocked back the whole thing in one gulp. Would that satisfy him? Because if so, he was done - done and ready to be out the door.
