It couldn't have been that rough. Then again, it depended. A lot. Nepotism could be a great thing when going into the same career as a relative. It was not as helpful when you had completely different plans. Or when your mom work was being a god.

"I understand," was what he settled on for an answer. "I have a few friends in the music industry on the island. They're mostly involved in flashy singing and dancing."

While his mom being a goddess made for interesting conversation piece and icebreaker, jobs didn't really see it as a skill.

"Well I don't really dance. But flashy singing is pretty up my alley."

It was a really dulled down way to describe one of his abilities. Biggest issue was getting that aspect out there. Stefan had mainly used it for stories. The illusions mimicking what he was telling so people could also watch the story. He could make it work with singing as well.

"In that case... My friend Shiloh Dubé is a big-name artist on the island. They used to go by the name Lo-Shi. If you hear 'The Queen of Anti-Pop,' that's them. They own a music company called Wonderville Records. I suggest checking that place out." Of course Shiloh had to be mentioned. They were one of Konpeitō's closest friends.

Afterward, he listed down a few other music agencies. There weren't really a lot of trusted ones for island-specific music.

" I also know a few places that allow up-and-comers to perform at."

Stefan leaned forward a little bit as Kon began talking about Wonderville Records and the few other establishments. He made sure to commit them to memory so he could look into them later.

"Shiloh. Wonderville Records. Got it. I'll definitely have to look into it. And yea if you know places I could play and sing at, I'd be eternally grateful."

Stefan was aware of the irony in the phrase. An immortal being actually eternally grateful would be a serious thing and just a lead on a job wasn't that serious, but it showed how thankful he was for Kon's help and advice.

Konpeitō didn't take the phrase seriously. He certainly considered Stefan somewhat indebted to him, but not eternally so. This was how Konpeitō liked it. He got the good feeling of helping people and the knowledge that most would accept helping him whenever the time came.

"So I have to shill out for another friend. The Fox Hole allows performers. It's located in the Strip and it's a bar that has a great smoking area, but those two are separated in case that's not your thing. That's what I mean by great. I wouldn't be able to stand it there if people could smoke wherever they wanted. There's a lot of good food too, since... y'know, the munchies." He laughed. "Not shilling for anyone for this next one. There's Club Orpheus, also in the Strip. It looks plain at first, but the inside is so nice. There's a dance floor too."

Stefan raised an eyebrow as he mention Club Orpheus. The memories of that night came flooding back to him and he had to blink twice to refocus on the present.

"Oh I know Club Orpheus. It's definitely deceiving on the outside. I'll make sure to swing The Fox Hole and see if I can get something there before I try to set something up with Shiloh."

What a neighbor Konpeitō was. Stefan was extremely lucky to run into him when he did. Kon seemed to have all the connections, and he seemed to like it that way.

When Stefan refocused, he would be met with a inquisitive expression from Konpeitō. Clearly the name brought up memories, which was only confirmed by his response. What was not confirmed was his blank look.

A small smile came on Konpeitō's lips as he thought about the reasoning. Every other time Stefan spaced out, it was because he was thinking of his special someone.

"Yeah! You can find a lot of information about Wonderville Records online. Also about the Fox Hole."

His eyes glided to the boxes he brought in earlier. "Ah, I should move those out of the way and set them up before Natalie gets back..."

"Oh! Yea! I'm sorry I won't hold you up any longer."

Stefan stood up quickly with a lopsided grin on his face. He appreciated everything Kon had given him. The hospitality, the information on a few places around, and the just general kindness he had shown a stranger.

"It has been great meeting and talking with you. You obviously know where I live, maybe when I get some furniture in, I can treat you with the same hospitality you've shown me."

He extended a hand to Konpeitō. His genuine smile still upon his face.

Konpeitō gave Stefan a confused look. "Huh?" It took him a couple of seconds to figure out why he was being apologized to. "Oh, shoot, I didn't mean to make you feel unwelcomed. I was thinking out loud."

He stood up to take Stefan's hand and shake it. "If you ever need help, never hesitate to ask. I'm pretty strong," he said proudly, "so I'm always ready to lend a hand with heavy lifting." It wasn't something he got to show off nearly enough.

Stefan laughed a little bit. His strength would be more than enough for most things, but the company would be welcomed. A thought popped into his head.

"Well maybe when I do get my furniture, I'll hit you up to help me move it all in then."

Stefan moved a bit towards the door as he spoke. When he reached it he turned back to Kon with a joking smile on his face.

"Put a good word in for me with your connections will ya?"
