This beach house was sexy as fuck. It reminded Broen of home, kind of. Which made his stomach turn a bit. But also it out dollar signs in his eyes. He was super fuckin under-asking for the blackmail money. Oh well, he could probably get better with what he had in mind.

It was early morning and frankly he didn't feel like knocking. But he wanted to make a good first impression. Seem more like a good Samaritan rather than, ya know, a guy who might be blackmailing you.

Broen rang the doorbell, holding onto the oversized shopping bag in his hand. It was part of his sales pitch.

Zora had not had a good night. It had been plagued with nightmares and visions of masked men in cloaks. She was exhausted from the ordeal of the past week. She had no idea if the police believed her and was basically at her wit's end. She was not a very happy girl at that moment.

As she came down the stairs in a pair of jeans, an old t-shirt and bare feet, she heard the doorbell ring and wondered who it could be? She was not expecting anyone today and frowned at this intrusion.

Padding over to the front door, Zora peeked to see who it was before she opened the door, seeing it was only a young man, maybe 24, standing there with a bag in hand, she decided to see what he wanted.

"Yes?." she said as she opened the door and gazed at the caller curiously, taking in his appearance as she did "What can I do for you?"

Broen put on his best good boy smile. The one that made the back of his neck hurt, reminding him of fingers dug into his skin at social gathering with his father.

"Hey there. I know it's early but frankly, I have classes later this afternoon and didn't know when I could catch you again. I'm Broen. And I have a proposal I think you'll be interested in if you'll let me inside."

Looking at the young man oddly, Zora was almost tempted to turn away and just shut the door. She was just not in the mood for salesmen. But something in his voice, the way he seemed to know her - the catch you again comment - made her think twice about doing that.

Standing to one side, she nodded and let him in - all against her better judgement. Showing him to the lounge area, she gestured for him to take a seat if he wanted.

"So, Broen, is it?" she asked evenly, remembering his name, "What is it you think you can do for me?"

Broen strode into the room like he owned the place, oozing confidience. "It's no secret you have some fuckers on your ass. Black Wings, yeah?"

He wasn't one to waste time, so he dumped the contents of the bag onto the table between the seats. A tattered black cloak and at least a dozen cell phones, all broken. All white with black markings on the back. Dragons? The implication was clear.

"I can take care of them if you want, gorgeous."

First, Zora noticed the sudden change in Broen's - well, everything - bearing, voice, even the way he looked at her. Secondly, she wasn't sure she heard correctly what he was saying until he dumped the contents of the bag on the table.

Shocked, then paling visibly at this, she turned to look at him, her gaze guarded, "Who are you? And what do you want?" she asked coldly, not trusting him for a second. She had had enough people trying to get to her lately.

Broen sniffed and gave Zoraida a grin. Not malicious, but definitely snarky. "Like I said. I'm Broen. And I the best at... well, everything."

"I'm a mercenary. Or I was. I did some top paid shit, back in my old home. And frankly I miss it. So we have aligned goals. You definitely want these guys off your back. And I want a taste of the old life back."

Zora actually let out an amused laugh at his cocky confidence, the fear and tension in her gone. She had not quite expected that from him. She had expected blackmail or threats of some kind, but not an outright business deal.

Eyeing him up and down very openly now, Zora was, to some degree, intrigued. "So .. Broen, how do you expect to achieve these goals?" she asked interested now, "And more importantly, what do you think your old life was worth?"

Broen took a step and the next instant he was sitting next to Zoraida. Slipping his arm over her shoulder, he flashed a smirk her direction. "I'm a man of limitless talents, la Rosa Guapa. I can be anyone. Anything. But better than the original. As for what it's worth..."

He paused and went to stand, appearing back on the other side of the table once again. He gave a stretch, as if he was thinking intently about this question. He turned and looked at her over his shoulder. "The question isn't what's it worth to me, Miss del Bosque. The question, rather, is what is it worth to you?"

"A man of limitless talents, huh?" she chuckled as he suddenly appeared at her side and then reappeared moments later across from her. Somewhat impressed with what she was seeing. He was quick, she had to give him that.

At his parried question, she leaned back, crossed her arms, and looked him over, "I can be extremely generous to the right people, but only if what they are offering is beneficial to my needs. And while you have bought me ... that," she said gesturing a the pile of cloaks and cellphones, "which I will compensate you for," she added. "I'd like to know what you are actually offering?"

Getting to her feet, she then sat on the arm of the sofa, "Are you offering muscle, protection, if so what kind?" she said in a very business-like tone. Wondering if she really wanted him around all the time, she wasn't sure she could trust him with sensitive information - or with anything really.
