Oh this was so much FUN! All the pretty music and food and games. It was almost too much to take in at once. Good thing the festival lasted all week. Flo was definitely going to gorge herself on festival sweets as much as possible. Maybe she wouldn't even be able to move by the end of it. Total sugar coma!

But the best part of it all, by far, was that her bestest bestie roomie, Noli, had actually agreed to go out with her to it. Not like a date or anything! Not that Noli wasn't pretty and smart and funny and just downright adorable. But she had been through a bad breakup, and even if Flo was maybe just a teensy smidge attracted to her. She had already overdone things back during the March Virus. That kiss had really been uncalled for, though it had been really nice. But she hadn't asked! It was a miracle that Noli didn't hate her for it. She didn't want to mess.up their friendship by...

Flo blinked and laughed. She was rambling, in her own head no less. She spun around far too fast, making her dress flair.out a little bit as she caught the brim of her hat before it flew off. She flashed an infectious smile at her roommate, squeezing her eyes shut in embarrassment.
"Whoops! Haha. Sorry Noli. I kinda got lost in my own head. Again. So do you wanna grab food, or maybe see what freebies we can get from some of the businesses? I'm down for anything!"

The kiss was…sort of still the elephant in the room, in a way. They talked about it a little bit while in quarantine, but Flo had basically brushed it aside. Noli wasn’t entirely convinced the kiss was only a desperate attempt to get herself sick so Noli wouldn’t be alone. Although that sure was something Flo would do.

But was it also because, maybe, Flo wanted to kiss her? She couldn’t help but think that because the kiss was…nice. It certainly didn’t feel like just a sloppy attempt to just get a virus.

Or maybe it was just all in Noli’s head. Overthinking it. For now, she should just try to enjoy the festival. Flo’s smile was indeed infection, and Noli was soon smiling back at her. After the miserable winter Noli was excited for spring. No more cold, no more slipping on ice, and the beautiful flowers of Manta Carlos were growing back.

And she had her new roommate and best friend.

“Hmm~ let’s check out the stands!” Noli replied. Having regained a bit more of her self-confidence thanks to Flo’s influence, Noli had forgone the oversized hoodies she had begun to rely on in place of her old corsets to hide her body. She wore a little sundress with a light sweater--and of course, flowers in her hair.

She took Flo’s hand in hers as they started heading toward the business stands.

Malara was really enjoying this festival. Her advisory staff had set everything up, but she had insisted on being at the stand for Theía and Muse herself. After all, this business was just one more method of gathering followers and breaking back out into godhood. They had samples of some perfumes that they were going to sell later in the summer, some gift cards to raffle off, and of course a team to pitch a job to potential talent for the agency.

It was all going really well and they had already run out of tickets for the raffle once. Mal had had to send someone to go grab more.

She noticed the bouncing pink haired girl first. A cutie, for sure. But what made Mal raise her eyebrows was who her hand was attached to. Noli. Seeing the Prax girl's face brought up a mix of emotions. Her ever-present anger boiled up just a hair, but was more or less canceled out by her embarrassment. The last time she and Noli had really spoken to each other had been their break up. And since then, Mal had come to the conclusion that maybe Noli was right. It was a tough pill to swallow, but she was trying.

So she would try to be friendly.

Malara waved the two of them down, stepping out of her booth to meet them halfway. "Hey! Noli!~ Ah... nice to see you again, who's your friend?"

When Noli heard Mal, her eyes widened and her hand instinctively squeezed Flo’s. She was scared; she wanted to run. But Malara was being calm and friendly, so Noli swallowed her anxiety down as best as she could and turned to her with a smile.

“O-oh, Malara!” Noli’s voice always gave away her nerves. She knew it couldn’t really be helped.

“This is my friend, Flo. She’s my roommate at the school.”

Noli continued to hold Flo’s hand as she spoke. Her grip clearly said 'please stay here with me until this is over.'

“Um…how have you been?”

Malara grinned and leaned forward on her hands, shrugging almost dismissively at the question. She could tell that Noli was nervous, even scared of her.
"Oh I've been fine. Working all the time, it feels like. How about you?"

Malara's eyes cut over to the girl Noli had introduced as her roommate and friend. Cute, kind of bubbly, probably a ditz. "Friend, huh? She's cute. You bounce back fast, Noli."

Flo let her gaze flick between Malara and Noli several times before she seemed to realize what this was. Malara, that was the name of the ex-girlfriend that Noli had mentioned. It had been a bad breakup, apparently. Like, really bad. Looking Malara over, Flo was honestly a little taken aback. She wasn't at all the type of person she had imagined Noli with. So forward, so glamorous. Not that Noli didn't deserve to be with whoever she wanted, it was just that Flo had the idea that Noli preferred simpler things. Maybe she was wrong? Maybe Flo should try to be more glamorous? Wait, what was she saying? Malara was looking at her.

Blinking as if she was waking up for the first time, even though it had been less than two or so seconds, Flo gave Malara a pleasant smile. She also gave Noli's hand a squeeze in return as if to say, I'm here for you, don't worry.
"Yeah, Noli is doing great. And she keeps me from skipping class too much, haha. I couldn't have asked for a better bestie."

Noli just…stared at Malara for a moment while Flo talked to her. Then she suddenly pulled out her phone and looked at it.

“O-oh, sorry, we wanted to catch a show so we have to go now. Good seeing you!”

Already squeezing Flo’s hand, she started pulling her away. If Malara tried to say anything as they hurried away, she refused to listen.

“Bounce back fast? What is that supposed to mean? She’s the one proposing to everyone who lets her touch their genitals…” Noli growled under her breath as she led Flo further into the crowd. They turned a corner, and only then did Noli slow down and take a deep breath.

“S-sorry…” she said, still holding Flo’s hang though not squeezing it so tight now. She frowned as her gaze turned toward the ground.

“That was…awkward.”
