Bel was still in shock as well as in quite a bit of pain from her sudden tumble down a hidden ravine. She had been out hiking that morning, lost in thought when she tripped on a tree root, was sent flying and ended up rolling down a steep and rather deep ditch.

As Bel lay there unconscious for a bit, the breath knocked out of her, she began to slowly come to. And that was when she began to really notice that she was hurting everywhere and that there was a deep gash on her left arm that was bleeding profusely as well as various scrapes that graced the palms of her hands. The goddess also had a cut on her leg where and a rip in her jeans where a rock had torn the fabric and sliced into her thigh, and, of course, it hurt to breathe.

Trying to stand up, Bel winced as a wave of pain and dizziness flooded through her almost immediately which caused her to gasp loudly, cry out and sit down again on the floor of the ravine amid dry old leaves, twigs, rocks and pebbles, and clumps of dirt and grass.

It had been a stressful week just like most of the other days during the week Rom hadn't slept again. Late in the night he had taken off towards the woods to clear his head. He had brought his usual pair of black sweatpants and had tied them to a branch before taking off in his hell-hound form for a long run to wear him out. After running himself out energy wise Roman curled up under a tree and finally fell into a fitful sleep.

Rom had woken up to a noise he count quite place. His black furred ears perked up as his body stood up cautiously as he searched for the noise that woke him up. His stride headed in the correct direction as he took off cautiously. His over grown size ambled through as his boned nose tried to sniff out any danger. He would have continued to move cautiously but he heard the small cry of pain and then took off at a run. The cry of pain had removed all of his normal caution and instead caused him to nearly fall over the ditch as well. Luckily the giant hell-hound had stopped just in time to stop his own tumble. He peered into the ditch and saw the young lady

" Damn" he whispered to himself, before calling down to the girl. " Uh ... hold on try not to move." There was no way he could make down the ditch in his current form so he raced back to the tree where he had tied his pants. In his rush Roman had knocked down three or four trees in his path causing loud crashing noises to descend from where he was coming from. He made it to the tree and shifted to human form and put on sweatpants on and raced back to the ditch.

Moving as fast as he could Rom slid down the ditch, no doubt getting dirt into his own shift injuries but he quickly ignored them and walked over to the girl. " Hello, My name is Roman. What hurts?" Roman was quick and to the point but gave her a quick look over to see if there was anything he could visibly see other then the gash on her arm.

Regardless of being half naked, barefoot , and a filled with weird looking holes, Roman was completely focused on helping her and it was good thing that he had been in the woods in the first place.

Bel was leaning, curled up against the side of the ravine now, in pain and trying not to panic. It had been stupid to come alone and not tell anyone where she was going. She hadn't even told her roommate, Agnes, or her teammate Kon, or even Sam.

Nobody knew where she was and this fact was beginning to scare her. What if nobody found her, or noticed she was even missing? What if nobody really cared she was gone? These thoughts only made everything worse and she could feel herself starting to hyperventilate, which was bad cause her ribs hurt too, and the mix of both caused her to curl up in pain.

When Bel thought she heard a voice from above, she turned her head and felt herself go pale when she saw what was standing above her. It looked like a wolf of some sort, but she couldn't be sure and this set her into panic mode as she scrambled forward on her knees and attempted to stand up somewhat, hoping ... for what? To get away? The realisation she was in a deep ravine with steep slippery sides and unable to walk two feet without feeling dizzy with pain and weak almost defeated her as she slumped back on the ground, tears filling her eyes.

And as the world swam before her, Bel shut her eyes tightly, trying to concentrate on not panicking, opening them only when she heard a voice beside her.

"How did you..?" Bel gasped in shock when she saw the young man with red eyes, looking down at her in concern. Then after a second, she shook her head as she remembered his question.

"Ask me what doesn't hurt," she said with a grimace, trying to make light of things despite her pain. "I can't breathe without feeling like something is stabbing me, and I don't know... my arms, leg," she said as she looked at herself.

Roman wasn't worried in the least that she had seen his other demonic form because he had focused on getting to the girl over the ledge. Any person would find it reasonable to freak out when faced with a large zombie looking wolfish form. It was a good thing that he could switch into a human normal looking form and it was especially lucky to have one to help the girl who had obviously not meant to get hurt in the woods.

He noticed a few things as soon as he got down on his knees to see her better. One, she had moved from when he had seen her in his wolf form but didn't make it very far. Two, She obviously wasn't focused enough to see or hear him coming down to help her. On the other hand, She didn't seem to be frightened or scared that he was there and was instead trying to crack jokes. He guessed that was a good a sign as any. " I believe we need to get to the infirmary. " He announced trying to keep the worry out of his voice, " Can I ask what your name is, miss, and this is going to sound weird but do you know what day it is?" The first question was just to get to know who he was helping but the second one was to see if she had any sort of concussion that he had to worry about as well.

With a quick look around Roman cursed under his breath again. It looked like they were going to have a difficult time getting out of the ditch they were in especially with her injured the way she was. He then decided to let her know the predicament and also what they could do about getting out of the ditch and what to do after they did.

" It seems like we might have a difficult time getting out of this ravine here and I don't have enough experience to help you medically down here. We have a couple of options but I don't think any one of them is going to be easy."
He started while wiping his dark hair out of his eyes." I have the strength to carry out, but you might have a bruised or broken rib that I could make way worse if I hold you to tight or if we fall while walking up the hill. If you can walk then I can slowly help you up the hill that way, but it's going to hurt your leg more and probably be harder to breathe." He waited a minute almost regretting his third option. " Or I could shift and that will be the easiest, fastest, and less painful way to carry you up the hill but I wont have hands to help if something more is going on that I can't see right now."

All the options had some sort of downside and He was prepared to do either one of the options but it might have to change if something did happen to go wrong.

"It's Bel, I mean, I'm Bel," she rambled trying to focus on what he was asking her, "And the day? It's Sunday, no?" she stated a little confused by the question as she looked at Roman a bit funnily, wondering why he had asked her such a thing.

Bel held her side and winced a few times as Rom talked. All the options to get her out of the ravine seemed to have their drawbacks - and all of them would appear to cause her some sort of pain no matter which one she actually chose.

"I really don't think I can walk, at least not too far," she confessed as Bel tried to stand up. A wave of pain in her side and in her leg shotting through her almost immediately when she tried to stand up and take a step forward. The act in itself, making her grimace and then double over in pain.

"The last option, or the first, I don't care," Bel gasped, her voice strangled as she tried not to cry as her injuries began to hurt more than ever before.

" I wish we were in better circumstances to meet Bel, but I'm going to have to get you out of this Ravine and into some practiced medical hands and out of this forest." Rom told her trying to keep himself calm in the process. " I believe your head is fine for now and you don't have a concussion but we also can't stay here any longer. "

Roman stood by as Bel attempted to stand up and walk on her own. She had barely made it a step before it was obvious the pain wouldn't let her go any further. It would take time to shift and be back to help her but It seemed the best option would be to just carry her as far as he could. His hands attempted to go to her sides and steady her while she stood. " I'm going to pick you up, Is that okay? I might as well go with option one. We are going to get out of this Ravine and then go to the school infirmary. "

After making sure she knew exactly what he was going to do he tried to pick her up gently with one arm under her arms and the other under her knees while he swooped the rest her into his arms firmly against his own chest. He glanced down at her once to make sure she was a comfortable as she could be before beginning to walk towards the steep sides.

Although his body was healing itself at the moment, There was still the bones on his fingers showing through until his skin and muscles grew back to cover them up again. Roman's mind began to think as he thought about the best way to make it up the steep hill while carrying another body weight. His best option was going to be with momentum to run up the steepest part and he hoped she was up for jolting experience Bel was going to have to go through in his arms.

Bel just nodded mutely at Roman when he explained what he was going to do and let him pick her up without protest, trusting him fully. Breathing in as best she could, she held back a small cry and grit her teeth as he picked her up and gently cradled her in his arms.

"I'll be okay, you needn't worry about me," Bel murmured as she held on to Roman as best she could and rested her head against his shoulder as he moved. Everything hurt as he moved, but Bel was stubborn in her own way and refused to complain. She was, after all, the goddess Beltane and she should be made of sterner stuff, or so she told herself as she braced herself against the jolts and jerks as Roman ascended as best he could the ravine in which she had fallen.

It seemed like for now that he had Bel's trust and that felt good. Roman didn't have many friends yet and maybe this was a weird start to one. Although he could worry more about that later and focus more on getting the girl to some kind of safety.

Roman slowed to a walk when he made it to the top of the ditch and back onto a trail that headed to the school. " I'll get you back to the school here soon. It's a good thing I was out there when you fell." Roman fell silent after his comment. He wanted to walk in silence as he walked back to the school. He hoped his silence helped her to know that they would be back soon. He needed to treat his own wounds and eat something, but that could only happen after he knew Bel was in safe hands.

After he walked back onto school grounds, Roman hurried to the where the infirmary was and quickly handed her to a nurse.

"Thank you," Bel said in a small voice as she laid her head, eyes closed, against Roman's chest as he carried her through the woods and towards the school and its infirmary. She was in no mood to talk since talking required breathing and every time she breathed too deeply pain shot through her sides.

When they finally arrived at the school, and Roman handed her off to the nurse to be looked after, Bel looked him extremely gratefully, ignoring the nurse as she started fussing over Bel's wounds, saying she should probably see a doctor.

"Will you come back to see me later?" she asked him, wincing slightly as she spoke, but wanting to thank him properly somehow and maybe know a bit more about the person who had just saved her and probably her life too.

After Roman dropped Bel off at the infirmary, he heard her question before he left the room. " I'll come back to check how your doing in a little but let the nurses do their job. I've got somethings I have to do myself. "
He held up his weirdly injured hands that looked like bone finger tips coming out of a normal hand. They had improved some since the walk over but his finger tip would fully heal with-in the hour. " I've got to eat something and then I'll happily return to see how you are if you are still awake. "
He gave her a light smile and a wink then headed out of the infirmary to go get himself something to eat.
