Bracken nodded as he too tried some of the nuts. "I agree, it seems not everything here is that different or unexpected." He didnt comment on the accidental use of the title. In his head he always called them by shortened or nickname anyway for ease.

"I do not mind, if it helps you feel safer. You are right that it helps us stand out less. Besides, if I wanted my arm back I'm sure I could overpower you and free myself."

There was a devilish gleam to his words that didnt quite make it to his facial expression. Keeping the placid appearance that wouldnt arouse suspicion if others were looking his way.

"You could most certainly try," Rho replied back as she smiled at Bracken very sweetly. "But I would then have to defend what's mine," she responded with a mischievous glint in her eye.

"You know, I am really beginning to like your arm, Bracken... In fact, I think I might be becoming "attached" to it," she quipped as she took another spiced nut from his cone and popped it in her mouth and grinned.

Bracken shook his head. "You realize I can't leave that unchallenged?" Truth and status, and fae responsibility. How annoying. He smiled and tucked the cone of nuts between his chin and shoulder as he reached out with his other hand to grab hers as he pushed forward and down with the linked arm. Causing enough pressure on her arm to release the hold but he didn't press enough to actually hurt her. And then he casually slipped his freed arm right back where it had been as if nothing happened.

"As you said, it helps us blend in," he quipped as he retrieved the nuts and popped one in his mouth to chew. "I wonder how ridiculous this might have gotten if it were Val or... Oh no, Tan would have caused a scene for sure if you were 'blending in' like this with them."

Rho had fully expected Bracken to react, and quite honestly would have been some level of disappointed if they hadn't. So when he grabbed her like he did, she didn't resist at all and just allowed him to maneuver her around.

"Nice moves. You didn't even drop your nuts," she deadpanned for a moment before letting out a tiny snort as she tried to control her laughter and failed.

"Oh, lord..." Rho giggled. "if it were Tan, there definitely might have been a few unexpected explosions," she said with a grin.

There were ways that joke could have been interpreted as offensive, but Bracken took it at face value- referring to the cone of snacks at his neck rather than any other meaning. He didn't really laugh at it, but he did offer a halfway decent small smile as he held said cone.

"At the very least it would have been entertaining but problematic. We are quite the group when we get up to trouble. I don't know that anyone here really knows the extent of what we could do had we the inclination." That elicited a bigger grin from him than the jokes did. He was very pleased with what they were capable of- he just wished there were more use for their hunting abilities on the island.

"What have you been up to anyways? I do know where everyone has been, but it's better to ask anyway," he shrugged a little and kept pace with her as they walked together.

"The island authorities probably wouldn't have let us stay if they had known how much trouble we can stir up," Rhododendron quipped back with her own mischievous grin. She was joking of course, though the idea of them being barred entrance because they could be quite the handful amused her.

At Bracken's question, Rho hesitated and almost didn't answer. But since she was fae, she felt compelled to answer, even if it was a bit embarrassing to admit she was worried about everyone to the extent that she was.

"Well, I've been giving private lessons after school to a few kids," Rho said as she watched a child run past them. "And I have been keeping an eye on things, in case, you know, something happens," she replied nonchalantly, deliberately omitting that the "things" she was keeping an eye on were the group itself.

Rho had, despite knowing that the others could probably take care of themselves, had taken to tailing or quietly keeping track of her friends to make sure they were all okay and safe.

Bracken, ever the side-stepper of bullshit, laughed quietly. "You can be blunt- I'm more of a spy than you'll ever be among this party. You all are deeply ingrained in my Meld. I know your minds." It was stated so casually, as if it was a remark on the type of weather they were having. But he really have essentially a low level connection to their minds at all times.

"But do keep sneaking around behind me at the school. It amuses me that at a moment's thought I can have any idiot flanked in the hallway for a nice casual chat about not being... unpleasant." He had glimpsed a scene like that in a movie another student had been watching on a screen secretly in class. Although it was very odd that such a discussion would happen in the lavatory of all places. People here could be so strange.

Rho had to smile at that and glanced sideways as she walked with her hunting companion and friend. "I'd have to say you are a great spy," Rho admitted. "I had forgotten that you can link with us wherever we are."

"Oh, and I'd very much enjoy scaring them off," she laughed unabashedly and quite proud of herself.

Rhododendron had, in fact, done just that a few days ago. She had been tailing Val and had fallen in line with a few suspicious-looking students that were walking behind the prince and had struck up a friendly "conversation" until they were so uncomfortable that they excused themselves and left.

"It's weird how unaware people are of each other here," Rho mused as she casually scanned the ever-growing crowd. "It's like nobody seems worried that they might be mingling with what might be perceived as an enemy."

Bracken finished off the small portion of roasted nuts and half-stepped the both of them to the side to dispose of the cone. "I believe many people here are just complacent. They might even know there are dangerous foes among them but they assume they won't be attacked or troubled often enough for it to matter.

He too was scanning the crowd, though in more ways than one. Someone nearby was apparently thinking quite a bit about wallets and police so Bracken nudged Rho to casually modify their path away from them. It was getting a little more overwhelming with the crowd though. "There are quite a few people here now. I'm not sure how long I want to remain here unless we find something interesting to investigate."

It was unspoken in the moment, but it wasn't exactly a secret among the party that too many minds made things difficult and more taxing on a Melder.

"Let's go somewhere else," Rhododendron said as she looked at Bracken calmly, hiding her concerned at the same time, although she suspected that Bracken already knew what was going through her mind.

"Valerian was talking about going on a hunt soon," Rho said as she maneuvered Bracken deftly through the crowd. "Maybe we could check out a few spots," she suggested as they moved away from the crowds.
