She wasn't one for books, not really. She liked to read, just as anyone likes a good book, but in all honestly she wasn't one to haunt libraries and hide under the cover of a thick book. Her father, an outdoor man by nature, had not approved of them. Her mother, on the other hand, had had a way with words that Esyllt had envied and suspected that her father did too. Nonetheless her mother had never pressured Esyllt into regular visits to libraries and so she had in her own way kept away from them. While she wasn't a sporty outdoorsy type, Esyllt just wasn't used to libraries.
She had stifled a yawn as she wandered into the library, not because she found libraries boring - more that she found them fascinating but utterly alien- but because she was somewhat tired and this had not been cured by wandering around the school. She was still getting used to the school and it was still new to her...something which kind of explained why she had ended up in the library.
Now she stared at the rows of books neat on their bookcases and the sea of the tables, some occupied...actually...a lot occupied, with the wide eyed gaze of someone who was out of their normal environment before recollecting herself and wondering why and how she had come to the library. Esyllt decided it did not matter and plucked a book at random from one of the shelves before wandering to one of the tables where people where quietly studying and sitting at a thankfully empty one. It occurred to her that she didn't know what she was reading but...did it really matter? She was, after all, only here because she had nothing better to do...
