Set before November 11th, AKA, before Sela becomes an official student.

This place was strange. Too strange. There were too many people everywhere. Even here, in the woods, too many people resided for comfort. And no matter how far Sela flew up or to the side, they somehow always came back to the island. They were stuck. But this forest was the quietest place they had. It was easier to hide from the eyes of many people, and there was plenty of food. By eating the animals around here, Sela had managed to learn a bit more about the island.

Maybe life here wouldn't be so bad.

Sela hopped off the branch of the tree they were sitting on. It would have been preferable to use their larger form, but it was easier to stay hidden when small. As long as they were careful, they shouldn't accidentally find themself on someone's property or taking the prey from werewolves on the hunt. However, life was getting lonely here. They had their dream world, which they had plenty of time to learn the boundaries of, but if this was going to be their awake world, some company would be nice...

Zeke didn't often come to the forest, but on occasion they'd come here when they wanted to get away from things. So they'd wander into the forest, glancing around and adjusting their sunglasses. It was always so quiet here, a good place where they could sit and think without interruption.

As they wandered further in they noticed something a bit further ahead, or maybe someone. He'd squint a bit and continue ahead. "Hello?" he'd say as he neared, they appeared to be a child. "You ok?" he'd ask as they reached them.

"You lost?" it wasn't uncommon to see beings out here, hunting if they had animal instincts, this person didn't really look like what you'd expect though.

It took some time for Sela to register that they were being spoken to. They ignored the feminine voice, yet as footsteps approached in their direction, they turned their head. An... adult? Or a teenager. It was hard to tell from a below perspective sometimes.

"I'm not lost," they said in a voice that sounded like a chorus of children. "This is my home. I'm okay."

She'd blink in surprise when she heard the multiple voices, that was strange and unexpected indeed. "Huh....wait you live here?" she'd ask, raising an eyebrow at that. "As in you and your guardian have a house out here?"

The nightmare girl glance around, confused and now concerned for the small child. "How long have you been out here?"

Sela tilted their head at the girl. "I don't need a guardian." They knew enough to know that young of a species often had parents, but they also knew that not all needed on. Sela firmly considered themself to be in the second category. If they could be considered a child at all.

That must have been where the confusion was. Sela's body became formless. They stretched to become seven-foot-two when they reformed. This time they had two pairs of arms and pecs, and their voices were more mature.

"I don't know. A few days? I haven't been paying attention. Why?"

"I.....," she'd blink in surprise when the person seemed to suddenly increase in age. "Did.....did you just...shift your age?" she'd ask, raising an eyebrow, obviously confused. "You even sound older," she was used to shifters on the island, but age shifting wasn't something she'd seen before.

"Uh...anyways, it's not always safe out here, with wolves and all that, plus winter is coming." She had no idea if this person was immune to temperature changes or not. "Plus you really don't want to accidentally wander into the forbidden forest."

"Shit, sorry, I haven't even introduced myself," she'd clear her throat. "I'm Zeke," she'd offer a friendly smile.

Sela was a little... slow. They weren't dumb by any means, but they had very few interactions where they weren't the one who initiated conversation. A small part of them knew the people they were speaking with weren't having a good time either. So this person was a new experience. One that they had to take some time to figure out.

"Zeke," they repeated back, all the while mimicking Zeke's smile. "I'm Sela. I'll be okay here. Things can't hurt me and I don't feel anything."

They paused for a moment before continuing. "Your first question... I changed because I wanted to match you. Is that okay?"

"It's good to meet you too Sela," she'd say, offering a smile.

Yeah it's fine, was just unexpected," she'd tilt her head, wondering what kind of being their new acquaintance was. "You don't get cold out here or hungry?" that wouldn't be unusual for this island, but she couldn't help but he concerned about someone living out there by themself.

She'd take a seat on s log. "Theres a school nearby, it'll give you a free room if you go to it," she planned on informing the school that they were out here, but if she managed to get them to school now would be best.

Sela was about to answer Zeke when the school was mentioned. They paused, their face turning blank while pondering the idea. All the while they dropped eye contact to look around the forest.

After crossing their legs in the air, they finally said. "I know about the school. There are too many people there. And I have a home here. Annnd I don't need to learn stuff so school doesn't matter for me. What do I need school for?"
