Soren sat next to Dyani setting out some plates and setting out tge food, he'd gotten more than enough, "yea LA, couldn't show my wings there....or anywhere in the states." He had hated living over there, where the supernatural was shunnned. "And CSI took up a lot of of their time and..." He trailed off, his dad coming to his mind, he never talked about it, but he missed him so much.
He turned to his food hoping to get his mind off of tge bad memories, he was eating a pasta dish with shrimp. "I like it here, no more moving, no more hiding my wings." He took a bite of his food, chewed and swollowed. "A place of second chances," he looked at his mother, a look telling her that that last statement was for her, he wasn't going to let her bring up Dyani's past as a way of keeping them apart. If his mother wanted a second chance then Dyani deserved one as well.
He looked up from his food to his mother as she asked about her family, it was a fair question, but he sensed something behind it. He took Dyani's hand and gave her a kind look, one with no judgement only understanding. One that silently told her that he would be here no matter what, "I think family is important, but family isn't always people related to you. Family are the people that love you and stay with you no matter what."
