More like himself? Mallory nodded, only partially understanding. Jude sounded almost grateful for it happening. Maybe it was just the situation where it occured.

Maybe it was possible for her to look older, after all, charms existed that caused people to physically become the other gender. All it took was a little digging.

"Well, I'm not really the school's therapist or anything like that, but if you want, you can talk to me about any trouble you may have."

Maybe he'd made it sound more dramatic then it was. In truth, it was pretty dramatic, but Jude had had time to process it all. It wasn't like it was new, and he'd taken some pretty aggressive measures to help himself adjust. After he'd lost his arm, he'd spent hours in front of a mirror, practicing with his hand and getting used to the look of it.

"No, it's alright," Jude said. "There were a lot of consequences when I took the - okay, it was a gauntlet before it became a part of my arm, for the record - when I took the gauntlet. It was kind of a mess for a while, but I adjusted. It's just kind of a part of me, I guess. Mostly."

Jude couldn't stop himself from grimace.

"I guess the only person I'd talk to would be an amputee, but there's not exactly a lot of those running around."

She didn't know how to respond. Mallory had had no experience with adjusting to an extreme change in appearance, and she had never lost a limb. Staring and sitting quietly on her desk, she tried to think of what to say without sounding insensitive to this boy in front of her.

After a moment, she responded, though somewhat hesitant. "What abilities does your new arm give?"

Jude had a pretty high tolerance to insensitivity. He could manage, more or less no matter what she said, but he was happy to talk, chattering away about his arms and it's abilities.

"It's not technically my arm, so to speak. It's the anchor for an extra-dimensional godlike being, but it kind of shares its abilities with me as it kind of... adjusts me to be a better host, more or less? I have a perfect memory now, for one. I can share mental images with people. I'm a nightmare for mind readers. And they translate for me, so I'm omnilingual."

All good things, more or less. And he'd yet to notice any serious downsides that weren't inherent in the powerset.

Nodding silently at the description of what the arm did for him, She guessed at how it would affect him in the future. Artifacts of a divine background were said to exist for eons. Did that mean that Jude had essentially become an immortal thanks to it? "How did you come across the umm, gauntlet, in the first place?"

That was a question, wasn't it? But it was a question Jude had heard a lot, and one he had a nearly canned answer for.

"Some people were trying to find it and robbed a museum. My friends and I showed up to stop them, and Giltenn was eager to get away, so they picked me as a host."

There were a lot of other details he was leaving out, but that was the big stuff, wasn't it?

Jude opened his mouth--about to ask how did you become a vampire--and then decided against it. Probably a bad question. Definitely a bad question.

Maybe back to a more standard line of thought.

"I'm going to read through those books you suggested," Jude said. "Probably the textbook too. That should more or less catch me up, I think."

So he ended taking it from the museum instead? Theft wasn't usually something he could ignore, but this being from another dimension, was way outside her juristiction as a Teacher. It didn't seem like a complete story though, in her opinion, but she dropped it. this was not for her to judge.

When Jude changed the conversation topic back to the schoolwork, she couldn't be more relieved. "Yeah. You can do that, and if you have any questions, feel free to ask me then"

It had in fact been theft... more or less. He'd never been taken to task for it, and he'd at least make a case of arguing that it wasn't because the Gauntlet had picked him and then more or less attached itself to his arm, but in the eyes of the museum? Definitely theft.

Their time was more or less over, and Jude had what he came for--a list of textbooks, some answers to his questions, and the fact that he was distinctly less ignorant about why people got mad when they got called a Nazi. He was polite about it as he cleaned things up, and at the very end he hold his hand out for a shake, really putting the cherry on top.

"Thanks for spending the time getting me caught up, Miss Willshire. I'm not going to just sit on the knowledge, you can be sure of that."

She smiled, taking his hand in her own. "Not a problem, Jude. Once again, feel free to ask me questions at any time." Well, her job here was complete, and she even got to learn about this strange student. All in All, she found it to be a productive session for the both of them.
