Here... For What Reasons?

Tear walked in the forest. It was calm and peaceful with summer just over the hill. She was heading towards the place her brother was stabbed and nearly killed, by who, she didn't know. She wanted to, she thought the boy, Steel did it, but, she just couldn't bring herself to think he did, because he didn't have any weapon, but that doesn't prove anything.

When she reached that clearing, she saw it looked like any other, any dead bodies were gone, and any sign of a commotion was gone, and all blood. It was like any other clearing, like nothing happened here, but something felt strange being here again, she didn't like this spot, but for some reason she had to come.

Tear closed her eyes, and shuddered. That night gave her bad dreams, and it frightened her, her brother nearly dead. She opened them again and wondered. She remembered going to see Trephas with Eben to the hospital wing, she was there often, when he was recovering his horrid wound, while there, she also saw the boy Kip Flame, who Steel took over, she listened to the boy, and learned that he didn't live two years of his life because of Steel, and how he met the evil boy.

That night seemed long for her, when they got Trephas back, she never left the hospital wing, she had stayed up all night, because of fear, but once she heard her brother would be fine, she was so happy she hugged the doctor, and then Eben, she was so happy that time when she heard her brother was fine.

She leaned against a tree, staring at the clearing, trying to if something hadn't changed, but nothing was there, all evidence of the battle was gone, completely gone. She sighed, closing her eyes again, thinking of home, and her room, and her mother, and father, and her other siblings. She missed them terribly.

Kane wasn't exactly paying attention to where he was going, and because of this distraction, he was moving rather slowly. A tuneless whistle escaped him as he walked, a black scarf obscuring his oddly colored eyes, as usual.

He was distracted so much by the events that had happened that he had completely withdrawn his mind, and closed off his mind from anyone elses. He just didn't follow how all of this had happened. It was slightly amusing, how much Lex got herself into trouble, but at the same time, it worried him, because he wasn't sure if he'd always be there to protect her.

Not to mention her sudden 'evolution'. He had never seen anything like that. Well, not literally, of course, but he could feel the power vibrating off of his sister.

As usual, his thin fram was covered in a long sleeved black shirt, over which was a baggy lime green t-shirt. And then a regular pair of baggy jeans.

He continued walking slowly, white and red striped stick sliding limply before him, since he didn't even spare enough mind to see where he was going. Suddenly, his thoughts were interupted as he walked rather solidly into a tree. He uttered a small 'oof' sound, as he allowed himself to tip backwards into a sitting position, rubbing his forehead thoughtfully. His mind reached out suddenly, and he was surprised to know where he was, as well as feel Tear's mind nearby. He blushed slightly, and rubbed the back of his neck nervously. "Oops.." he muttered in his calm manner, small, nervous smile bringing out his dimples, "I did walk into a tree, and not you, Tear, right?" he asked, his voice never changing in tone, though he did look a little uncomfortable where he was.

When will I see them again? Days? Months? Years? When? Soon? Later?.... I hope soon, I want to see them, I terribly miss them, I wonder, where did those people take them? Tear thought, a bit sadly, and she did wonder further, like, where did they take Fury? Because, a while ago, he disappeared for two months, and no one knew where he went, they thought he ran away from home, but she knew he didn't, Fury would never do such a thing, and when he turned up later, he was... frightening.

He hacked a tree, and later on, that tree fell over into one of their barns, and her parents were terribly angry with that. A smile crupt up on her face slightly. Though, after that he started yelling at his parents, saying stuff she couldn't believe, she thought he was playing a prank or something on them, he jabbered about many different things that didn't make sense, though, when her family were taken, it all became clearer.

He was warning them about this, he said they did experiments, and that they planned to take them or something, but now, she believed him, she tried telling him this at the academy, after the battle and such, but he just yelled at her, and left somewhere, she hasn't really seen him since.

When something hit the tree, she stood up straight, and turned around and saw Kane on the ground, obviously he hit a tree. She smiled a little. "Are you alright, Kane?" She asked, walking towards him, and looked over his face a moment. "And no, Kane, you didn't run into me, you hit the tree." She smiled and laughed a little. She had never seen anyone hit a tree, but he was blind, so she wouldn't make fun of him or anything, if it was her brother, that would be different.

Kane dipped his head slightly, standing up and brushing himself off. "Well I'm glad it was the tree and not you." he remarked calmly, placing a hand on the tree he'd run into. "Terribly sorry, tree." he added, a slow grin finding it's way onto his face for just a moment.

He ducked his head and crouched to look for the white and red cane with his hands to hide this grin from her, and in the few seconds it took his hand to slide over the cane, he'd gotten himself under control again.

His calm 'poker face' so to speak, was back in place, and he jerked a hand through his hair. "So, I haven't run into you..ahem, pardon the pun.. since that night... How are you doing?" he asked, cocking his head slightly to the side to emphasise the question, since there was no change in the tone of his voice.

He knew she wasn't doing too well. He could feel the emotion flowing off of her. In the deepest, most guarded recesses of his mind, he wanted to give her a hug, and comfort her. But he didn't. He just waited for her reply.

Her smile widened a bit when she saw his grin, and when he apoligized to the tree. "I am also slightly glad, but did you get hit, I mean, you must have been out of it for running into a tree." She said a little, again with a small laugh.

When he bent over to look for his cane, she narrowed her eyes a moment, and when he stood up again, she was reminding slightly of Eben for always trying to hide most of his feelings. Eben was quite good at it, though, he was basically as looking dull instead of anything else, she always called Eben dull.

When Kane spoke, she looked up at him, and her smile left, and she closed her eyes again, and bowed her head, thinking a bit. "I-I'm fine, better then what I thought I'd be like... I'm... mostly confused... I don't believe they stabbed Trephas... but then again, I don't know who else would." Tear said, a little quietly.

Kane watched her, and against his better judgement, moved forward. He left his mind open for her, so that she would see there was no alterior motive, and then he placed one arm over her shoulders, drawing her in against him in a brotherly hug. "I have this deep, gut feeling that everything's going to be alright." he said, in complete honesty. His calm, peaceful voice never changed in tone, but he didn't like seeing (pardon the figure of speach) people so sad.

"At least Lex was there, right?" he added, not releasing her from a hug. "Everyone who was involved will be brought to justice eventually." he added, being as gentle as he possibly could. The big brother instincts were equipped in his genes, apparently.

When he pulled her into a hug, she did not pull away or anything. She felt like she needed to be comforted these days, after what she had been going through and her twin. She knew he was mostly likely right, that everything will be alright, but she couldn't seem to make herself think that, she keeps thinking something else bad would happen.

"Oh god, I wouldn't know what to think if Lex didn't help him..." She whispered, a tear slipping down her cheek, though none followed it. "Eventually... but what would they do during the time they still roam about taking my family slowly from us... we were so stupid not to listen to Fury, he told us of the danger that will come, he said they will take us, but he made no sense, I thought he went insane after those two months of his disapperence." She said a bit angrily, though, that was to herself basically, and her family for not believing her brother.

Kane nodded, releasing her. "You'll be taken care of here." he told her, calmness never leaving his being. "And if you tell your family what's happening, I'm sure they'll be alright too." he shrugged.

Tear thought a moment. Yeah, she would but she was afraid that the people who attacked her brother may know that they are hiding here. "I... hope so..." She said, silently, and she looked down a moment, but calmed herself before she grew sad again, it was time she forgot about that night. But she then felt a urge to go to the battle place that was just behind her, she didn't know why though.

"I know... I should, but I'm afraid my letters will be taken by those people, and then they may found out where my other family are at..." She said, wondering about that, and then turned around and walked into the middle of the clearing where the battle took place.

Kane smiled a soft boyish smile at her. "I wouldn't mind sending them." he offered. If he sent the letters, then there would be no connection between her and her family.

When she moved away from him, he did a quick scan of the surrounding area, looking for concious minds and finding only those of the animals. He kept his mind on constant awareness, though his activity was blocked from Tear's mind.
