Colette had been on her way home when she stumbled upon the injured bird. Well... dying was more like it. She was pretty sure it was dead -- the scent of death was fresh on the bird when she found him, slumped over the dumpster's lid, possibly attacked by a stray cat or something. He hadn't been bleeding too much, so she could guess the cause of death was trauma?
Anyway. That wasn't her problem now. She had him patched up and repaired his... er... life strings before it broke of completely. Now the issue at hand was patching up his physical injuries. He didn't seem in too much pain but after some moments of observation, she found a few cuts. More importantly, the poor thing had a broken wing and she didn't really know much about first aid for animals.
One option was going to a vet but.... she wasn't really sure if she should? She was a little worried what they would say if they somehow found out that the bird was half dead. Undead? Not really; she was pretty sure that he still had a pulse, although very, very weak. They'd probably tell her they'd put him down or something!
The little reaper slipped the macaw into her bag, careful not to hurt him as she did, before she rushed home, looking for some help from the family. Her brothers hadn't been there when she arrived to their little home, she realized, but she immediately sniffed out her dad.
Her mood sprung up, gently taking her new friend out of the bag before as soon as she got past the doors and found a place to set her bag down.
"Dad!!" she called out, running to her father in the next room, clutching the bird in her arms. "Dad, Dad, I need help. He's hurt!"
