A’laya waited patiently outside the Academy, just as Chloe had texted them to. They checked themselves in their phone camera to make sure their makeup was pristine, and smoothed out their cute sweater dress. They wanted to look nice and worthy to Chloe. The two had only recently met after A’laya had joined the DSU, but Chloe had expressed an interest in helping A’laya out with the student elections. Made sense—as the leader of the DSU, Chloe would obviously want to encourage her fellow demons to be in higher positions within the school. To have visibility and to bring a positive influence.

Which meant A’laya had to act like they actually knew what they were doing. A'laya pulled out a little notepad and started going over some of their ideas: some they came up with on their own, while others were brainstormed with her girlfriend. The ones her girlfriends helped to come up with were a bit more...professional than their own. They wanted to try and remember these ones.

"A'laya! Sorry I'm late," Chloe stepped out of the school building. "Had to help clean up a mess in a dark arts lab. Long story. Sorry about the smell."

Chloe's shirt had a weird stain on it. She was looking forward to a shower and a change of clothes.

"Anyway. You're running for office! I'm excited. Have any plans for the campaign yet?" Chloe already knew that she was going to help A'laya get elected. She already had her poster-making materials together at home.

“Hell yeah I am!” A’laya replied with a laugh.

“So, my campaign…I’m sure it is not a surprise to you that I am kind of scatterbrained and all over the place.”

Yes, a surprise to no one. A’laya talked fast, made constant hand gestures when they spoke, and always seemed to have energy at 110% somehow. No one who knew A’laya expected calm and collected.

“So I need to, like, smash all my thoughts together and tighten it up into something more coherent, you know? At least, that’s what my girlfriend keeps telling me. Since you've done this election stuff before, I'm sure you can help me out with that, right?”
