Tomo lowered the violin for a bit more as she walked over to Dalia and leaned to look at her phone and check out the song. Tomo thankfully knew that song and knew the melody well enough to play it.
"Coming right up."
Tomo said with a small grin and after giving Dalia's hair a slight ruffle she stepped away and raised her violin one more time.

Tomo started the song kind of slowly, testing and seeing how well she managed. And as she gained confidence Tomo quickened her pace, and there was an expression of concentration on her face. Tomo looked almost serene. Dalia's beat mixed in with Tomo's violin, and when Tomo looked at the girl and their eyes met she grinned and winked playfully, messing around.

Dalia couldn't manage a ton of different sounds on the desktop, given that she only had her hands to work with. But she helped keep the beat, humming the lyrics to the song under her breath. It was an upbeat song, but one with a sad story hidden in the words. She liked it, felt like she connected with it.

Grinning at Tomomi, Dalia felt her cheeks go warm and knew she was blushing a little as the two of them played. She lowered her head, looking at the corner of the table so maybe her hair would hide some of her embarrassment. Probably not though.

The kind of songs Tomo liked when she was sad were usually angry ones, ones where she could scream and kick and jump and beat the strings so they could mirror what was inside. Or then ones full of dread, and darkness and snark. Listening to happy songs when she was sad made Tomo feel sick. But to this one Tomo could get into, probably because she saw how much Dalia was enjoying it. And something about this song made Tomo feel like she connected with Dalia through it. It was a nice feeling.

Tomo could tell when Dalia blushed, and weirdly that blush transferred to her along with the embarrassment. Tomo's pale cheeks turned pink and she looked away as well, staring at the strings as she played. And when the chorus came Tomo sang, because that was the only part she remembered. Her voice was doing good today, and though it wasn't phenomenal Tomo also wasn't a bad singer, and when she finished singing the chorus Tomo glanced at Dalia bit shyly and chuckled.

Dalia found herself lost in the music, smiling and laughing and kind of losing the beat sometimes as her exuberance overcame her. This wasn't complicated, one of the rare moments when no nonsense was kicking down her door. It was just her and her friend. Playing music. Singing, albeit off-key on Dalia's part. She definitely should not have quit her day job to become a singer. But she wasn't trying to impress.

Neither of them had to worry about performing excellently, thank gods. The mood became casual and relaxed after the initial embarrassed moment, and Tomo began swaying and laughing along with Dalia, starting to feel a lot better. It was a weird feeling after being down in the dumps for so long.

But all fun times came to an end, and the song also had an end. Tomo ended it with flair, letting the last note stretch, and then looked at Dalia with a small grin.
"That wasn't really that edgy, but I have no complaints."

"Sorry, I don't do edgy as much as some people do. I'm too strong to get kept down for long," Dalia admitted with a grin as their impromptu duet finished. She was smiling, showing her slightly sharp teeth.

Leaning forward on the desk, she puffed out her cheeks and slowly let out her breath, deflating against the desk as she did. Thinking. Tapping her hands against the sides of the table. It only took a second and then Dalia jumped out of her seat, clipping her knee as she somersaulted over the desk and landed on her feet on the other side. She winces a bit, but kept smiling.

"You wanna get out of here? Go get something to eat? I could eat. Like. A whole arm. Or maybe just a burger. Two burgers. I've got cheer practice later, I can afford two burgers."

"That sounds exhausting."
Tomo commented on Dalia's proclamation, and snickered a bit. She lowered her violin, and fetched the case she had left on another desk as Dalia did her little somersault trick. Tomo rolled her eyes and shut her violin case.
"Showoff."
Tomo said and stuck her tongue out at Dalia.

"Yeah, break the cliche and eat like a pig despite being a cheerleader. Fight the system."
Tomo said and laughed a bit, flinging her violin case to her back. She had Mystique practice today as well, but at least she didn't have to watch what she ate.
"I could go for a chicken burger or two. Or three. Or five."
