Eben and Trephas sat around a table, and for once Eben was not reading a book, instead he was watching Trephas poke at his new cell phone. Eben wore some plain black jeans and a black long-sleeved shirt of Savatage, one of his favorite bands. His new cell phone was white, as he liked that color. He leaned back in his chair, still smiling, but his eyes remained dull and boring, same as Trephas'.

Trephas stared at the phone, he has never had one, his parents say when he's older. He reached over and poked the phone and stared at it. He wore the same jeans as his cousin Eben but wore a t-shirt that says stuff about duck tape.

"What's the point in a cell phone? They seem boring... What if it gets lost?" He asked randomly, looking up at Eben, who was just smiling.

"Phones are handy, and if it gets lost, I'll blame it on you." Eben said grinning

Trephas just glared at his cousin then sat up, and ran a hand through his hair. "You blame me and I'll break your dagger." Trephas said smiling.

Klay sook peace in the lounge. Bad idea. Two boys were chatting about a "cell phone". But the rest had left. She put down the picture she had been drawing. It was of her home.
Home.
There was that word again. She looked down at the painting. The land was hilly, but flat in other places. But, everything was either a golden yellow or dark orange. Those were the colors of her land. The light. The air. Everything was endless Twilight. Endless beauty.
She sighed and put it on the next chair over. It was really good, thoguh she would probably end up throwing it away.

Eben glared at Trephas, but smiled. "I'll hurt you before you touch my weapon." He said plainly, though he was enjoying himself, he almost always did with his cousin. He tilted his head and turned around to see a girl, and he stared at her. Wonder what she's doing, Eben thought though he turned back to Trephas.

"I'll like to see you try." Trpehas said. He looked over at the girl also, and also thought what she was doing, looked like painting to him. He shrugged, not really caring much. "I'm faster then you right?" He asked his cousin, who shrugged.

"Matters what you mean by that." He answered. "Your fast at reacting, but when you do it's usually stupid, like when the dragon got you, that was stupid." He said smiling.

"It was not stupid. The dragon liked the entertainment till it wanted to eat something." Trephas said smiling. Again he looked over at the girl, and thought. "Hello." He said to the girl she looked a bit older then him.

Klay took a glance at the boy who had said hello through the edge of her eyes. She said nothing but listened to them.
To tell the truth, she was more than a hundred years older than him. At least, Drow's had much longer lives than normal elves. They thoguht of her kind as lesser beings, who never respected or loved anything but themselves and their money. It was (more than half the time) the other way around. She had no interest in these boys but watched them anyway.

He sighed when she didn't answer. It seemed liked no one wanted to speak, well actually this was the first person he had met who didn't want to speak. Trephas who was also looking at the girl, though with slight interest.

Eben stared, though he couldn't find the persons past, but he didn't care, he wasn't looking for it, he was just interested in the girl, he was interested in everyone, wondering who and what they normally are, since not many people here are the same so he likes to know about many people here.

"Do you not speak?" Eben asked, staring at the girl.

"I was going to ask the same thing." Trephas said glancing at his cousin then back at Klay.

Klay's eyebrow shot up. The only reason the boy could not find her past was that she had blocked his powers. Anyway, she might as well go easy on at least a few people. Her eyes darted to her picture. Here, in this school of Nobodies like herself. But, no one was like her. Everything was different.
Looking back to the boys, Klay nodded, her eyebrow going back to it's usual position. At least the boys could not remove her mask. At least, no one had tried.
She hoped no one would.

"So your mute? Or just shy? Or-

"Trephas! Shut up." Eben said smiling.

"Well aren't you in a cheery mood." Trephas said glancing at Eben

"Of course I'm in a cheery mood, ain't I always?" He asked his cousin, who was laughing. "Anywhy, don't mind him. My name's Eben, and this is my cousin Trephas." He said gesturing towards Trephas.

Klay looked away. Cousins? They yabbered at each aother like young ones. She glanced at them through the corner of her eye and looked into the fire.

Trephas tapped his fingers on the table, boredom getting to him, and so he stood. "Well, I'm gonna go up to the my dorm and call home, and then throw my homework out of the window." Trephas said slipping out of the door.

Eben watched his cousin leave, and just shrugged, and he picked up his cell phone and stuffed it in his bag, but he still sat there, thinking. "Do you like winter?" Eben asked randomly glancing at the girl, then out a window, sighing slightly.

Klay shook her head. They never had Winter at home. She was not used to the cold weather here, so she spent most of her tim inside. But at more warm places, like the beach, she went there all the time, though mostly at night. She always went out at night. She was almost nocturnal.
But not completely.
