Nora was no stranger to Manta Carlos. Having lived here since her late childhood. She and her family had moved to the islands when her powers had manifested at age ten. She had full support from her parents who had put their own lives on hold for her. She loved her parents dearly, but she missed them even more. It had been nine years since she last saw them, it wasn't for lack of trying, it was simply that they were too busy to visit, of course stories told in detail via letters meant they were still connected and as close as ever. "Distance never does determine closeness." She sighed with a smile as she walked about the town. It wasn't so much that crime was at a high or low, there wasn't lack of crime, but there wasn't much in the way of mystery. Of course she knew being a detective wasn't as glorified as it was in books, and in no way did she regret choosing this as her career, it was just a nice cruising pace.
Although, said pace didn't put money in her pocket and food on the table, so she worked hard at every little odd job she did get, even if the majority of them were petty thefts that only required a short court hearing and a fine. Lack of action was nice. This conflict of fast pace vs no pace was not uncommon in the young woman, as her personality was sometimes all over the place. And in the years she had spent on MC, she had found it to be a pretty common trait among people. She had fond memories of Starlight and the city life, so it was nice to see it grow and change, viewing it in a different light as she got older. Even now the city seemed vibrant and colourful, and busy, bustling with new products and new people since last year. It made her happy seeing how MC evolves with each passing year, especially with having grown up.
