It was early, early enough for the temperature outside to be just slightly chilly. Through the cold concrete structures the sun filtered into crevices where it could. Slowly, and almost desperately trying to warm the magnificent, looming structures that seemed to grow so abundant in this city. The chill in the air hardly perturbed the lanky individual walking through the quiet streets on this morning. Snugly fitting clothing trapped what little heat his body produced, as the long coat he donned seemed to stave off the morning chill. Kaisu had one hand upon the collar of his coat, tucking his mouth beneath the rising fabric. He held the collar clenched between his fingers, closing it off, and hiding his mouth out of comfort. His other hand coiled around the strap of his backpack that hung haphazardly from one shoulder.

Thankfully there was a locker he could just throw his books into when he wasn't using them. Technically it was his first day starting at this particular school. Something about it stirred a strong uneasy feeling within the young vampire. He shifted his eyes nervously about the streets as he traversed through them expertly. His boots thudding against the chilly concrete with a satisfying sound. Soon enough the building he was to be stuck in all day, came into his view. Kai paused a moment, gnawing at his lip anxiously as he stared at the looming building in front of him. This was supposed to be a safe place to learn, though he couldn't help but feel intimidated by the sheer size of the academy.

Kaisu looked around, still very early there was few people even hanging around. There were a few adult-types boisterously laughing with one another. Coffee in almost each one of their hands. Kaisu made a beeline out of their site, with his head tucked further into his collar than before. His heart pounded with anticipation. He'd be okay once he got to his first class, but the initial transition was always dreadfully stressful. The young male made his way into the office, the familiar sound of typing came from the other side of he desk.

There sate a pleasant looking, round little woman with rosy cheeks. Kaisu carefully approached the desk, assessing her body language the entire time. She glanced up at him from her computer screen, and seemed thrilled he'd entered the office. "Welcome! I'm going to guess you're new here, since I don't recall seeing you before." Kaisu's anxiety seemed to melt away. He carefully delivered a pleasant smile to the woman behind the desk, giving a quick nod. His hand fell away from his collar, releasing the bunched fabric as he waited for instruction.

Rules. Another thing he abhorred. "Well we'll just have you fill out some paperwork to turn in by the end of the day. Can I get your name, dear?"
Kaisu cleared his throat, still donning his charismatic smile. "<a href='http://159.65.241.122/index.php?showtopic=6986&st=0&#last' target='_blank' rel='nofollow'>Kaisu Okumura.</a>" He uttered carefully speaking each syllable. The woman lit up, and pulled out a stack of neatly organized paperwork, shoving it at him. "Here you are dear! We've been expecting some new recruits, so I've organized them. Here's your map too. Your class list should be in there somewhere, but you've got time to explore, it's still very early." She spoke in a joyful tone, and it had Kaisu beaming.

He always was put into a good mood by energetic people. He gave her a small nod of thanks, and slipped out the door into the hallway. He spotted a bench where he could sit for a few minutes, and hopefully collect his nerves now that he knew they weren't going to be rude.

Marching purposefully, Annaleise stomped through the hallways. She was in quite a good mood, recently having acquired a babysitter that didn't suffocate her every moment. Her soft white leather flats padded across the floor easily, making little noise. She was dressed in her happy little usual, a brightly patterned dress trimmed with ample amounts of lace, ribbons and glitter. She looked every bit the poster child for a children's department store, and she absolutely knew it. Her naturally curled hair was allowed to stay loose, a small ribbon perched precariously on top of her head, keeping her forelock out of her eyes.

Rounding a corner, Anna could practically smell a new student. She had recently started hanging around the admissions office, curious to see what types of people came to her school. She was without Sylvi today, and felt a little lost without her adopted sibling. She had given up looking for her early on, figuring that the elder girl had better things to do than hang out with her all day.
The chirrupy voice of a secretary caught her attention, and Annaleise immediately sped up her steps. Her short little legs worked a little harder as she pushed herself into a little trot. Unsteadily, she pranced her way into the hallway where the voices were coming from.

Her eyes wide, she stopped to watch as a strange man exited the main office, staring openly even as he collected himself to sit on a bench outside the office. He was rather interesting looking, and Annaleise had never seen a trenchcoat in action before. The only place she had seen them before were on the villains in her cartoons. The idea to question this stranger immediately struck her as a good one, and Annaleise jumped at the opportunity.

Bouncing towards the stranger as he sat, Annaleise stopped in front of the stranger, her fists clutching at the material of her skirts. Her cheeks puffed out, turning a light pinkish colour as she deprived herself of air while she studied the man. Frowning mildly, she remained silent, inspecting him with an air of authority. "You're new." Stating this matter-of-factly, Annaleise accompanied her statement with a solid nod. With that simple statement, Anna felt perfectly warmed up to the man to interrogate him fully.

"I'm Annaleise ! What's your name? I've never seen you before, so you must be new. Where do you come from? I love it when people come from real far away and bring me back things when they go home. When are you going back home? Are you gonna stay here forever? Lotsa people wanna stay here forever b'cos its good and they don't gotta hide. Do you gotta hide? I gotta sometimes because I am a dragon. Well, I'm not a big dragon but eventually I'll be able to eat people ! I don't wanna eat very many people, though maybe just one or three. Have you ever eaten a people? Murtagh says he eats bad people. Murtagh is a great big wolf, bigger than a horse! He is good. You should meet him one day. Unless you're a bad people, then he'll eat you. Are you a bad people ...?" Panting a little, Anna finally made the pause to resume breathing, and allow the stranger to talk.

There was a faint sound of shuffling across the tiled floor. Sort of a dragging sound, like slippers on a hardwood floor. Kaisu caught movement in his peripheral to notice a girl a bit smaller in stature than him. At least appearing mostly human. He eyed her carefully as she approached, but as she got closer he could practically feel the excitement rolling off of her. His heart began to speed up, and his demeanor seemed to change in her presence. You're new. Was the first thing that fell from her mouth. That's what started a rather long list of questions she prattled off quickly.

By the end of her long winded question speech, she was out of air. Kaisu cracked a warm smile, and fell into a few chuckles at her demeanor. He was feeding off the positive energy she gave off. Her excitement, she felt young. Kaisu's smile seemed to be stuck in place now as he assessed her questions. His eyes peering at her with a vast amount of curiosity. "I am new. I'm Kaisu, Kai, or Mori to most. I'm from the city here, I've grown up locally but recently switched schools." He spoke in a very warm tone, obviously beaming at the interaction with a high spirited person.

Kaisu leaned backward on the bench, sliding over so there was room for her to sit down. He seemed hesitant at her question of a home, though she was so energetic, and he was a pleaser. "I don't really have a permanent home right now. Nor do I have to hide myself much. I'm I guess for lack of a better term, a vampire... But I'm an empath first and foremost. I don't actually eat people." Kaisu began laughing again, the question seemed far too ironic not to be funny. His laugh was full of joy, his emotion obviously genuine.

He began to feel less nervous, but then again he loved bubbly, talkative people. Kai already listed her in his book of preferable company. He listened as she spoke of a wolf that ate bad people, and shook his head very carefully. "No, I don't think I would get very far being a bad person. Empaths have a hard time doing anything that's 'bad.' I'm not sure he'd like me much would he? Don't wolves have this thing with vampires? granted I don't even drink blood... but still... Why do you want to eat people? Or just the bad ones?" Kaisu questioned her with that same warm smile, patting the spot on the bench next to him. His body language as very open, and even inviting. As if his kind demeanor could reciprocate her enthusiasm.

Annaleise fidgeted a bit more, excited to meet a new friend and relay stories of her incredible prowess as a dragon. The new people usually didn't want to be impolite by quieting her, and suffered through her mostly made up stories about her life as a dragon. "It's nice to meet you! I bet it was hard to switch schools. This school is big." She was sure that even she had gotten lost in the wide expanse of halls and rooms. Perhaps if he wanted, she could try to drag him around to her favourite spots.

"Vampire !" The exclaimation came out in a squeak, and for perhaps the first time in her life, Annaleise felt cowed by a stranger. He said he didn't eat people, though, and she was immediately disappointed. Frowning in a petulant pout, Anna's lip inched up in frustration. Eating people was a good trait to have.
"He is a good wolf! He is Sylvi's brother. He only eats the bad people that are mean to her I wish I had a brother like that would you like to be my brother? My family is far away from here." A faint pause for what she hoped was a disappointed expression. "But that's okay! I like building my family, you are my brother now, okay?" Nodding shortly, Annaleise forsook the spot beside Kaisu, wriggling instead on top of his lap.

Feeling unnaturally comfortable on top of strangers, Annaleise quietly and quickly made herself comfortable, scooting and wriggling backwards until she was safely perched on his legs. "Have you been anywhere else on campus yet? It's big, so there's lots to explore !"

Kaisu watched her expressions change with interest. She seemed to go through a slew of emotions, although overall seemed very consistently enthralled with his presence. She seemed astonished that he was a Vampire. He offered a faint laugh at her description of everything, and could practically feel his heart melt at her question. You're my brother now, okay? Though he had little to no time for a response, she'd wasted no time crawling onto his lap. It was a bit surprising, but he wasn't against it. She was friendly enough that he wasn't perturbed in the slightest.

Kaisu reciprocated by wrapping his arms around her with a slight laugh, giving her a gentle squeeze. "Sure, I can be your brother. I'm not the type of Vampire you're thinking of though. I don't need to feed on blood or anything like that. I feed on something called warmth, which increases my strength as an empath." He remained seated comfortably as she perched herself in a mildly awkward position, listening to her as she spoke about the campus. He hadn't commented on the school switch yet. "Mhm, my old school was pretty lame. Pretty small too. I had to move as they wouldn't allow me to re-enroll myself being under 18."

He wasn't sure she cared much about that information, but he responded anyway. She again grew excited, sending his emotions wildly reeling through excitement. He was growing more, and more upbeat in her presence. "Nope, I came early to explore, and hopefully avoid large crowds. This is my first time on campus." He offered another smile, allowing his arms to rest comfortably against the bench. Just tensed enough to react if she suddenly moved.

Nodding, Annaleise didn't really expect the boy to reject her. No one ever said no to her. In her own mind, she was a princess, and therefore always deserving and always right. Tilting her head down, Annaleise tucked herself into the boy's chest, casually forgetting to check for any boundaries. Certainly, she had never asked, and would probably never bother. "Warmth sounds weird. Does that mean you're cold a lot? You don't feel cold."

"Exploring! I like exploring, it's my favouritest thing to do around here. I'm not 'sposed to go far, really, but no one's been able to catch me yet. Exploring is much funner than sitting in a classroom, anyway." Quiet for a spell, Annaleise allowed the temporary silence to sink in for a moment.

"Okay! This is boring. Let's go exploring. Maybe we can find Murtagh! He liked it when I petted him. He is nice to pet." He felt coarse and brushy, not like a pet dog might, and the foreignness of it excited her, even now when it had happened so long ago.
Hopping down off of Kaisu's lap, Annaleise ruffled her skirt a little, shaking out any wrinkles that might have appeared while she was perched atop her new companion. That settled, she grabbed Kaisu's hand and tugged, an expectant look on her face.

Kai shook his head at her question. It was cute, her entire mannerisms had him captivated shortly. Her emotions were bold, and excited, drawing Kaisu in further. He was almost as excited about exploring as she was by now. "Nah, I'm not cold. It's an emotion thing. I suppose it's easier to say that I feed off of positive emotions, and personalities. Energy." He shook his head once firmly. Watching her as she pounced from his lap and fixed her skirt.

Anna wasted no time gripping his hand, and insisting with her expression, and words they go explore. Kai's laugh fell from his mouth as he stood up quickly. "Well they'll be even less likely to catch you if I'm around. I'm your older brother, remember!?" Kaisu was beaming again, and he didn't want her to just enjoy all the fun. He shot forward with a newfound excitement, his anxiety having all but disappeared.

He glanced back as he tugged her hand towards him, trying to get her to race him wherever. "We could race somewhere, if you win I'll take you somewhere nice as a prize. If I win, you have to hang out with me all week. What'd you say?" He seemed far more excited now. Kaisu flashed his widest smile at her quickly, his fangs clearly visible now.

Anna didn't know what to think about this whole feeding off energy business, and therefore didn't bother to think about it at all !
Nodding violently at Kaisu, Annaleise was happy to see that he had accepted the big brother role easily enough. Usually it took a little bit of force and insistence to make sure that people understood their position in her life. Slowly but surely, she was building her family, and absolutely would not take no for an answer. It wasn't her fault that everyone needed to love her.

Tugged forwards by her newest adopted sibling, Anna galloped obediently behind Kaisu, her small hand clutching his larger one desperately. Her chin lifted as she stared wide-eyed up at the man. A race sounded like an excellent idea. Another avenue to drag an unsuspecting stranger into a caffee in the city." She and Alfredo had attacked one not so long ago, buying sweets and spending time together in the large city centre. She had not been out to the city since then, and was fiercely determined to return back to that friendly little building. "Okay! Where are we racing? Let's race to that door over there" Without really waiting for his approval, Annaleise took off like a hare, running full tilt at that door. She really wanted those sweets again.
