growl

<div align=center>There was something about the way the sea sounded that made calm wash over the silver-haired girl, her ears aeroplaned lazily to the sides and the bright green eyes set like emeralds in her head, gazing idly out over the horizon. It was cold, but she liked the cold, it was a bracing sort of feeling that refreshed her and made her feel good. She held out her hand, little white flakes forming above it, and melting on her soft, pale skin. The girl giggled, it wasn't cold enough for snow yet, but that didn't mean she couldn't make her own. This perhaps was the most innocent aspect of her gift, she'd rather make snow than use it to her full potential, snow was much funner than impaling people with ice spears, besides she might get into trouble for doing that.

Dee Dee yawned loudly, pushing herself to her feet and stretching, she winced as her back clicked. Ow. Her ears snapped forward at the sound of a gull screeching above her, the girl's head tilted back, and she scowled, snapping an insult at the creature, it had ruined her peace and quiet. She wobbled just a little, and hopped off the rock she had been perched on, landing on the sand underneath her with a quiet thud. She stared to the sea again, it was a grayish-blue sort of colour, it reminded her of the way the sky looked when it was just about to snow. Dee's attention was taken away from the dull surface of the ocean, and to a sound somewhere behind her.

A soft growl escaped from her throat as she scrambled back up onto the rock again, jumping across them with ease, the girl could perhaps be likened to a baby goat, though she'd most likely bite you for saying that. She paused when she got to the top, taking a moment or two to catch her breath. The wind picked up, and mussed her hair, causing the girl to squeak and her hands to fly to the top of her head. It was a rare occasion when she had bothered to take care of her silver curls for once, she didn't want the elements undoing all her hard work.</div>

Max raced through to the clearing of the silky soft sands that her feet sank deeply into. She stared shell-shocked at the girl on the rock, her jaw had physically dropped. She wasn't sure if she was a trap and extracted her bow and arrow quickly and nervously lined up her target. Her power stopped her frantic hands from throwing her and her shot off balance.

After several seconds Max came to her senses, she lowered and retracted her weapon back into it's shell casing and warily advanced towards the girl. She shakily rolled her fox print shirt down, shivering constantly creeping closer to the girl. She watched from about 150 metres in silence. Her sneakers were full of the sand that grazed the dry mud that was caked on since the last time she had enough time to brush it off with the stiff fur of woodland animals. Her eyes were fixated on the curious beautiful figure, the delicate features but incredible sharpness of them attracted her in unimaginable ways. She focused all her attention of the soft silver curls floating in the wind and the precision that this girl had taken care of, unlike her own which she tugged at her own scruff of a mess of split and tangled brunette hair, feeling a sense of jealousy overwhelming her, the first proper emotion against a human being for a long time.

<div align=center>Dee Dee's ears pricked forward, and her tail flicked to the side. She slowly tipped her head to one side at the sight of the strange girl, her brow furrowing softly, creasing her forehead. She looked strange, perhaps like she'd just come out of some savage fight. Dee was confused, and it was evident on her face. The girl in front of her had almost a feral look about her, and perhaps the fox-girl could have some fun with that. She wondered if the girl was a student, like her, she'd never seen her before, though perhaps she was one of the more recent students. Dee Dee liked new students, because God were they fun to mess with.

She was going to shoot me. All of a sudden Dee Dee went into defensive mode, her ears flicked back suddenly and she snarled, her own safety came before possible new friendships, and if she thought she was in danger then she would be prepared to fight. The girl stayed in that position for a moment or two, just as a precaution, when Max came to her senses, Dee Dee did the same, relaxing ever so slightly and letting her ears slowly flicker forward again. They stared each other down for a little while, in all honesty Dee hadn't expected to come across another person here, especially one as strange as this. She perhaps would have preferred a cute boy, and personally she had her eyes on that tall Latino boy. "If you try to shoot me, I'll rip out your throat." She hissed, merely warning the girl rather than trying to scare, or threaten her.</div>

Max had learnt enough about animals that if you don't look them in the eye then they wouldn't see you as a threat, and Max prayed to the high heavens that this would work. She cast her eyes downwards still shuddering from the winter chill, she could feel herself being watched by Dee but did not want to look up in case she was sprung upon. She didn't want to look weak either, but looking weak was the safer option against a much larger more threatening opponent.

Her face froze not from the seasonal wind, but from the fact that who knows what powers Dee Dee had acquired, she could be ferocious and toy with her mind like a voodoo charm and this terrified Max to the point of sickness. She only wanted to be safe, make a friend; not an enemy when she had quite clearly accidentally walked onto her territory. A mistake she feared would costly cause herself harm especially by the biting words the girl had spoken a few moments earlier.

<div align=center>Dee Dee felt her shoulders relax a little, this girl was no threat to her. She leaned forward a short way, tail twitching curiously and head tipping to the side again. She studied the girl for a little while, she was terrified. Dee couldn't help but wonder what on earth had happened to her to make her so nervy. Dee Dee might often have jumped to the most radical conclusions but of course that didn't mean she was a bad person. Arrogant and obnoxious maybe, and just a little mean spirited, but malicious? No, she merely enjoyed a joke now and again, whether those jokes are intended to ever cause harm is up to the victim to decide, perhaps.

"Are you alright?" She asked, a slight tone of suspicion in her voice. If anything this girl needed cleaning up, she perhaps might make an attractive girl at that if Dee were to clean her up a little, and all of a sudden a hoard of ideas rushed through her head that were perhaps very similar to Wicked The Musical. She could be Glinda and this poor ragged girl of course could be Elphaba. Minus the green tinge to her skin, of course, Dee Dee perhaps would have run a mile if she'd come across that.</div>

"Mhm," she muttered under her breath, not wanting to raise her eyes. Her voice wavered and she had to cough a little to clear her throat and make it seem as if she was not about to cry, she needed to show that she was strong and fearless. She was masking her true emotions, she was terrified of anyone apart from the wilderness.
She could feel Dee scrutinizing every little detail about her, the way she had acted, her appearance and most of all her feelings. Max worried that Dee was judging her, thinking awful things and being prejudice against her and her blood rippled inside her.

<div align=center>Dee Dee relaxed visibly, her ears flicked up from her skull and her tail kicked it's self into motion again. She wasn't going to hurt Max, she didn't understand why the feral-girl was so frightened of her, she didn't exactly think she looked scary, she thought she was cute. For a very brief second she was offended at the thought that anyone would be scared of her, but then she remembered that she'd just told Max she'd rip her throat out if she tried to shoot her, which in all honesty, she probably would, but this girl wasn't dangerous, she was merely frightened.

Dee sighed, "I won't hurt you." She mumbled lazily, shrugging as she did so, she wondered what the girl was doing here, and asked her so. It was strange to see someone this beat up, even around here, where strange sights were no longer strange. If Dee thought about it, this was perhaps more worrying than strange, and she'd decided that the poor girl at least needed a wash and some new clothes, not that she'd donate any of her own, she wasn't quite that generous. Dee Dee was scrutinizing her, that's what teenage girls did, but she wasn't as bad as she came across as, merely a little obnoxious, and incredibly full of herself.</div>

"Do you mean that?" Max looked up meeting Dee Dee's eyes. Max took a wary few steps closer so that she could feel a soft sweet waft of perfume aromatically floating over her and overwhelming her senses. She listened to the way Dee spoke, a hint of leadership, arrogance but so much of ignorance, a formidable type. The personality type that made you feel like you were nothing compared to her but deep down Max could feel that Fee had a heart, wasn't cold and heartless like the wind that whipped and blew through their hair.

<div align=center>Dee shrugged, and nodded, why wouldn't she mean it? The wind might have made others shiver, but not Dee Dee, she embraced it, she enjoyed it, though it mussed her hair to an extent she disliked. "Where are you going?" She chirped, it was strange to see students to far away from the school, especially when the weather was like this, she was an exception, she liked to skip classes and teachers couldn't find you if you weren't on the premises! Her eyes narrowed a little, maybe she was the same as her, maybe she just like the cold, and the salty air that came along with the ocean.

The girl yawned widely, she seemed disinterested, lazy. Her thoughts seemed to be elsewhere, though she couldn't help but feel curious of the girl, she was so strange, she was so different. Dee would have liked to bombard her with odd questions, it was strange for her to be so curious of a person, it was strange for her to even want to know about another person. She was generally disinterested in other people, for the most part, it depended on who her knight in shining armor was that week, it changed frequently.</div>

"Away... as far away as possible," Max grunted sharply. She didn't want any interference from people who think they knew her better than she did herself. The only thing she would accept is polite persuasion, but even then she was of stubborn nature, it took a lot to twist her arm in a metaphorical sense. She felt exposed not only to the harsh elements of the sea but also to Dee, the feeling of danger and threat began to wash over Max and she could see that Dee wasn't as bad as she first thought. So much for Max scared of being judged when she went full speed ahead and went and judged this girl.
Max felt tired, extraordinarily tired. 'New place tiredness', she thought. Hadn't felt this in a while, always tied to the same place and same scenery as much as it was nice for a change she really wanted to be back in the comforts of the woods where she could fend for herself and creep back into nonexistence and no one would worry if she got hurt or not. Max didn't believe herself to be selfish or egotistical but she did wish to have a little bit of attention now and again, though she had never had it for such a long time and she was grateful for Dee Dee spending particular attention to her although she was still wary and naive.
