"YOU DONT FUCKING UNDERSTAND ME....." Phaedra screamed before slamming the door to her room. She Stomped over to her bed, her eight legs clicking loudly as she skittered over the floor. She let out another frustrated shriek before throwing her pillows across the room. They landed neatly in a web she had spun the night before. Looking around her room, it was plain to see that there were webs everywhere. Much more than normal in fact. While it wasn't uncommon for her to have a hammock, now it looked as though she had never stopped spinning. In some places, the webs were so thick that they blocked the light from entering some of the far corners of the room.

She couldn't explain why she was doing this other than a compulsion for privacy. Each strand helped to isolate the young spider from the outside world. She just wanted to be alone, why couldn't her mom understand that? Why did she insist on spending so much time with her? That's why she had been screaming, they had just had an argument about that exact thing.

She sighed loudly, throwing her body onto the bed. Everything hurt. Her entire body had been aching for a week now. It hurt to move, to breath, even laying down like this hurt. Shifting hurt the most though. She had been shifting no problem for a month and all of a sudden it started to hurt. Her human legs had felt weak and unstable again, and her back would be so sore. She had been trying not to bring it up simply to avoid unneeded conversations with everyone. She just wanted to be in pain alone.

Strangely enough, she had even pulled away from her sisters, getting mad at them for coming into her room. They had used to all share a room, and were so close, but lately, she had felt them as being immature. No one seemed to be on her level anymore. She felt alone.

Phaedra groaned loudly as she stood up. She had no idea what was going on, all she wanted was it to end. Somehow, as if by instinct, She knew that relief would come from curling up and sleep. She looked to her corner, or rather what she could see of it through all of the webbings. She had constructed a tunnel of sorts leading into the corner. She had spent all night making it. And now she was going to use it.

"IM GOING INTO MY WEB AND IM NEVER COMING OUT." She yelled before skittering into the tube of silk and curling up. Sleep would come quickly to the spiderling.

((OOC: This marks a life event for Phaedra. When she emerges from the webbing she will have aged 6 years.))

Phaedra did not sleep well this time. She spent much of her sleep tossing and turning, plagued by nightmares and awkward pains that she could not explain. Her only saving grace came from her isolation. No one bothered her when she moaned and turned. No one asked if she was ok when her eyes shot open and she sat up. No one was here, and that was just what she wanted.

The nightmares were odd to her. Most of them seemed to be of her mother before she was their mother. She had figured they were a result of the fight she had had with her mother early. In truth, they were memories of her mother's time in hell. In truth, these were memories, new thoughts, skills and intelligence unlocking in the young spider. Her mind was adapting to the changes her body was going through.

Her body still ached, even while she slept she was aware of her pain. It was like there was no escaping it. She spent nearly 48 hours tossing and turning, feeling restrained, and tight in her little bed. Everything around her felt smaller, but She assumes that she had simply twisted her webs tighter.

After a while, however, the pain stopped. She would wake up feeling refreshed, and alert despite the constant tossing and turning. For the first time in a week, she wasn't hurting. She actually felt good. Better than she had expected to feel. Amber was right. She just needed a nap.

Emerging from her webbing she skittered over to mirror, prepared to brush out what was sure to be a tangled mess of hair. Instead of her in the mirror though, the reflection looked almost as though it were her mother staring back at her. She let out a scream in surprise as she fell over and skittered away from the mirror.

She was older now. And she didn't understand why.

((OOC: It is now Friday in thread time.))

Chloe heard the scream. She fumbled with a pencil, setting it in her book and closing it so she wouldn't lose her place, then bounded into the hallway.

It sounded like Pandora. Either this was something funny, and Chloe would be laughing about it in a moment, or this was something absolutely horrible. Pandora wasn't the type to scream like that.

Then she saw her. "Are you okay Pan... dora?" Concern gave way to confusion. Pandora really didn't look like herself.

Phaedra looked up as Chloe entered the room. She wasn't sure what was going with her, or why she looked like this. it didn't help that Auntie Chloe had instantly mistaken her for her mother. Tears stained her cheeks as she turned her gaze to the floor. "I... I'm Phaedra Auntie Chloe. I don't know what's going on." Her voice was full of confusion.

She was larger now too, almost as big as her mom. Her clothes that once fit now clung tightly to her frame impeding her breathing and cutting off circulation. Phaedra stood awkwardly, and skittered over to her bed, pulling the comforter over her body. "Auntie Chloe? What happened to me?" She asked through sniffles as she used her sharp fingers to cut herself free of her old clothes while keeping herself hidden under the blanket.

"I think you might have just gotten another growth spurt," Chloe said, sitting down on the bed next to Phaedra. "Like you did when you were younger."

It was just what Pandora thought it could be. Chloe had hoped she was wrong. It might have worked in hell, but it would be so hard for the girls here, growing in such violent bursts.

She reached over to where she thought Phaedra's shoulder would be under the sheets, resting her hand there. An attempt at a comforting gesture. "You're going to be okay. While you were... hiding in here, your mom said she went through something like this when she was growing up. Are you still... hurting anywhere?"

Phaedra popped her head out from under the blanket to look at Chloe. None of this made sense. She didn't want to grow like this. She looked so much older now, like a teenager. Everything had changed now, So much of her had grown, and she didn't understand it. "I don't understand? Why Did this happen? Did The others have this too?" She would feel a sense of relief if the other had had similar occurrences.

Under the blanket, Phaedra's legs had been working quickly, pulling her silken threads together so that she could knit up her coverings. She was learning everything all over again now, as her old sizes no longer fit. On more than one occasion she needed to place the slowly forming articles of clothing against her body, and start working on it again, sizing it inch by inch. She was suddenly more self-aware of her body than she ever had been. She had new things that stuck out awkwardly. Hips, and breasts. Making clothing to fit these new additions was tricky.

"No... I'm not hurting anymore. I feel... Good... But it's so different." She was still trying to fight back tears as she spoke and worked. "What are... What are my friends going to think?"

"Well... It probably happened for the same reason you all became ten-tear-olds in under a week. It's just... how you all grow up, I guess. You're the first of your sisters to do it, but you're not the only person on this island to ever go through this."

She didn't know what to say about Phaedra's friends. She was also being distracted by all of the movement under the covers, and eventually, she figured out what Phaedra was doing. "Um... Would you like for me to get you some clothes to borrow? That way you won't have to work blindly, at least."

There was probably someone they could talk to. Maybe that aging specialist could give them a referral to a counselor, or a mentor, or a group or something.
