Human Form

Appearance Description: Graham's natural form is without a doubt much more imposing than the human guise he more commonly adopts. He stands just under nine feet tall, with a very muscular and broad shouldered build. His skin is light grey and very sharklike in texture, almost rubbery, little bioluminescent nodes dotting along his veins, which carry pure, brightly glowing water instead of blood. His eyes are deep set, a solid dark red color, and in general the bone structure of his face is severe and angular. Fins along his arms, legs, and back aid in mobility, as well as smaller ones on his shoulders and a few other places. Graham has visible gills on his neck, a number of small tendrils protruding from the sides of his face, and two eye catching, expandable finds on his head that when compressed look very similar to horns. His teeth are seemingly made of water, extremely long and thin, needle like, much like an anglerfish, and his the top of his skull flares back into an almost crown like shape.

It goes without saying that Graham's human form, which he tends to prefer, is far less eye catching in the scary sense. That being said, this form is actually quite handsome, with strong and angular (but much less so) bone structure, particularly his jaw, and deep chocolate brown eyes. He's still quite large by human standards at 6'4", with similarly broad set shoulders and a fair bit of musculature in his build. His hair is naturally dark brown and shaved on the sides, longer and messier on top and dyed blonde. Graham has medium-small gauges in his ears, but doesn't typically wear any other jewelry. His clothing style varies a bit, and most of it is pretty worn and beaten up, but typically he just dresses for comfort and practicality.

Personality Description: Once, not all too long ago, Graham was a reasonably happy and content person, not typically overthinking things and letting life take him in whichever direction it decided to flow. Now, however, his carefree nature has been severely dampened by the recent mistakes of his past, the repercussions of his actions haunting him. Graham finds himself uncomfortable in his own skin on a daily basis, or rather feeling that he's undeserving of having said skin in the first place, among many other things, even the simplest of courtesies. As time wears on, he finds himself in an ever deepening hole of self loathing and regret, and he's perpetually afraid of causing further harm to anyone at any level. He's constantly on the lookout for an escape from these invasive thoughts and feelings, willing to chase distractions to potentially dangerous lengths as long as it pushes the guilt to the back of his mind.

Active Abilities: Nature's Shape - Graham is able to shift his form at will to any animal that lives in or directly around the various lochs, rivers, and other waterways of Scotland. Just to name a few, this includes all manner of fish, frogs, turtles, otters, and much more. This does, in fact, include the legendary loch monsters Scotland is known for. He's also able to shift into a human form. All the shapes Graham takes adjust his physical abilities accordingly to be the same as the normal animals, and he's able to communicate and understand other members of the species he shifts to. As a loch monster, he's roughly fifteen feet tall and forty five feet long, weighing three tons, and is able to lift four tons. This form is amphibious, and he is able to go on dry land for roughly an hour before needing to return to the water. Graham is still able to speak and understand English regardless of the form he takes, and while the transformations are both instantaneous and indefinite, remaining shifted for longer than four hours induces severe nausea and headaches.

Water Mastery - Graham is able to freely manipulate the flow and shape of water in any form, be it liquid, solid, or vapor, as long as he can see it. He's able to control roughly as much water as is contained in an Olympic sized regulation swimming pool at maximum with relative security, but his control is much finer in smaller amounts; he's simply able to influence flow and direction in massive quantities like that. In any amount, Graham has difficulty controlling water that's been polluted, with chemicals or other harsh things.

Passive Abilities: Loch Lord - In his natural spirit form, Graham is able to lift a ton and a half. He can reach a sprinting speed of forty miles per hour, and a maximum swimming speed of two hundred and fifty miles per hour. He has both gills and lungs, and can breath properly on both land and in the water. Additionally, he has stopped aging, and is immortal as long as there's a body of water within one mile of the spot that he died. In such an event, his soul will travel of its own accord to said water, and his body will reform over the course of a week.

Fluid Evasion - In response to physical damage, Graham's body, regardless of form, automatically shifts into water at the point of impact, allowing the attack to pass relatively harmlessly through him. However, this is strictly for physical, kinetic impacts. Additionally, he can only shift to compensate for damage at three separate points of impact, and anything further than that will damage him normally.

Weaknesses: No Heat, Please - High temperatures, such as fire or even just particularly hot days can dry Graham out regardless of the form he takes, and while he already is required to drink quite a bit more water than average to stay comfortable, he'll actually get physically sick when dehydrated to even a moderate degree. Generally, this consists of intense dizziness and lethargy, but severe pain can occur in more serious circumstances.

Biography: Graham is a water spirit, part of a moderately small sub species that has tended to the various waterways across the United Kingdom for countless generations. At an early age, he inherited the position of the patron spirit of the loch and river Murdoch, to which he owes his surname. He was quite curious and playful, getting along well with both the fauna of the water and the humans that lived in the town nearby. He frequently visited these people in his human guise for many of his early years, but as time stretched on and the previously quaint village steadily industrialized, he retreated more and more into his familiar territory.

Graham was quite nervous about the progress of the town into a more manufacturing oriented one, especially when construction began on a textile factory right on the loch's edge around his eighteenth birthday. Utilizing his human shape, he made persistent, frequent attempts to dissuade the townsfolk from allowing this factory to be built, warning them over and over again that it would be disastrous for the water they relied on, but each time his words fell on deaf ears. The factory was eventually completed, and to Graham's utter horror, the business people that oversaw its operation saw no issue with taking the most convenient route and dumping their waste right into the loch. All throughout his nineteenth year he worked tirelessly to try and convince the town to shut it down, bringing more and more evidence of how harmful it was, but they were blinded by the short-term benefits of new jobs and revenue.

As the patron of those waters, Graham's health was directly tethered to that of the loch and the river, and he got progressively more ill throughout the year. Eventually, it proved to be too much. Countless animals were dying, and so would he soon, if he didn't directly put a stop to this. Mere days before he would have succumbed to the pollution and faded away, and fueled by long-building anger at what they had done, he flooded the factory after it had closed down for the night and the workers had left. While it did in fact disrupt the machinery inside enough to permanently halt operations, he hadn't accounted for the wastewater tanks held outside the building. Affected by heavy electrical damage from systems inside, the tanks burst, flooding into the town.

The sheer loss from the accident resulting from Graham's flooding of the factory was astonishing. Twenty-five people had drowned, including six children. Thirteen more were seriously injured. Graham, needless to say, was distraught beyond words at what his lack of foresight had caused. Scouts, suspicious of the circumstances of the flood, arrived to find a catatonic Graham at the center of the still dying loch. He went along with them with no resistance, his bond to the waters there breaking permanently during the journey to the island. It took him nearly a week to finally speak and explain what had happened, just after his twentieth birthday. He was pardoned for what he had done, as is customary, despite pleading to be put on trial. Instead, he was referred to a therapist, though he hasn't yet been willing to see them. As of now, Graham is simply trying to make it through each day, drifting through his new life on Manta Carlos, utterly purposeless.

Resources: Makes enough to regularly eat through busking, but declines welfare and housing assistance as he doesn't consider himself deserving of it.

Additional Information: Always carries a worn acoustic guitar with him.
