Eliana wiped the cake from her face with a rag, still grinning. She still had bits of frosting smeared here and there. One such smear was right above her left eyebrow. She chortled upon seeing her reflection in the fridge.

"Yeah, no problem. I have a shower in my bathroom you can use. And your forgetting about brunch. Breakfast is a close second in blasphemy compared to brunch. Brunch wins, though, because it was birthed from two things that were never meant to meet. I mean, how could breakfast and lunch do that to dinner? Lunch and dinner worked so well together."

She shook her head.

Chloe was laughing again. "Leave it to a lust demon to turn meal-times into a story about cheating."

She went back to eating her breakfast and watching the news. She tried not to make a mess, being careful to have all her crumbs fall on some paper towels she was using. She may have been a dirty sinner now, but she wasn't dirty.

Mention of cheating got her thinking. She turned to Eliana and spoke. "Do you happen to know if goblins even have that whole... thing, about monogamy?"

Eliana paused mid-bite. She had sat next to Chloe and was watching the news with her.

She set her fork down and looked at her companion. "You mean do they believe in monogamy over polygamy? As a whole, I'm not certain. I've only met a few goblins. Most of my interactions are with humans. I imagine that's an individualist thing. Why do you ask?"

She paused a beat.

"Girlfriend?" She assumed that was why Chloe wanted to know. But if Chloe's girlfriend was a goblin, wouldn't she already know the answer to that question?

"Yup." Chloe said, eating another bite of cake. "I mean, her sister sleeps around like there's no tomorrow. It might be kinda dumb to assume that her culture takes monogamy as seriously as my culture did." she washed it down with some water, then switched over to eating some standard breakfast fare again. "Then again... it would be stupid to assume that they don't, too."

She had a moment of clarity.

"Basically I should just freaking talk to her about it instead of hiding from the problem like a coward and hoping it goes away. My dad's been sort of pressuring me to be more polyamorous anyway, so it's not like this would be coming out of the blue."

The half-demon nodded, staring off into nothingness. "Yeah... that would probably be a good idea. Thanks for helping me talk through this emotional hangup, Eliana. You're the best."

Eliana made a face. "Did she do something to make you think she wasn't into monogamy? Some people just like sleepin' around. Her sister might be one of those people. I was under the impression you two had been seeing each other for awhile, you guys didn't have this conversation sooner?"

Eliana wasn't sure by way of experience how things of this nature worked, but her relationships (whatever you wanted to call them) were based on a sense of communication and trust. Which sounded silly, being what she was.

"What, are you crazy? Bringing up something like that is terrifying in a monogamous relationship."

She sipped coffee. "It's all based on this idea that you're both only for each other. Even bringing up the idea of sleeping with other people could be..." she waved a hand around, trying to find the right words. "It's taboo. And therefore scary, because I'd be worried that I'd be destroying... possibly the most meaningful long-term relationship I have in my life right now. Every time I've brought it up to her before was... like, 'haha my dad has this idea about how I should live my life that's the exact opposite of what other parents expect, isn't that wacky?'"

She shrugged. "Also, I knew Cheeto before I knew my real dad. I started being all exclusive before I realized I had other options."

"Okay, good point but consider this. Not bringing it up is just as likely to ruin your relationship as bringing it up. If someone is right for you, you shouldn't be left sitting there wondering. If a relationship ends because you're trying to communicate, it wasn't a relationship worth having in the first place."

God, Eliana was getting too serious this morning. She was going to have to wash her brain with bleach after this, and then have a healthy dose of partying to rid herself of these weird conversations.

And then, suddenly, she stopped. "I'm sorry, Cheeto? Is that....really?"

"Exactly," Chloe agreed. "I should just sort of... talk to her. About how I kind of want to have a lot of sex with other people. Because this rocks, and going along with a social construct that determines who I can and can't bang is stupid."

She might have been unclear that she was just explaining her old feelings on the matter, and not her current ones. And man, Chloe felt liberated as hell right now. Hopefully that wasn't just the fifteen orgasms and the cake-for-breakfast talking.

Eliana just had to ask about the name, though. "Yep," she said, amused, "When your society lives underground for a long time and does a lot of scavenging through human trash, weird stuff can happen to your culture. They started taking their names from trash at some tpoint, basically. She had a childhood friend called--" She started giggling uncontrollably, and was having difficulty holding it together enough to finish her sentence. "Her parents named him Kinder Surprise."

She was probably making an idiot of herself. It always just killed her whenever she remembered Kinder Surprise. "Like - like the freakin' chocolate eggs." She was having difficulty breathing. The more she thought about the name, the worse it got. It was like the poor boy's parents wanted to commemorate the fact that he was an unintended pregnancy.

If Chloe was making an idiot of herself, then Eliana was looking like an imbecile with how hard she was laughing.

She had been trying to contain the humor she felt over Cheeto's name, but once she realized Chloe wouldn't be offended at her laughter, Eliana just hard to release it. And Kinder Surprise had Eliana in tears and doubling over, forehead to her knees.

"I — I don't think I could have," Eliana whooped she was laughing so hard, trying to catch her breath and not choke. "I couldn't not laugh after calling a name like that out in orgasm."

To demonstrate just how hilarious Eliana thought it would sound, she called out, "Kinder Surprise!" in the sexiest voice, she could muster.

"Nope, even I can't make that sound normal, and that's sayin' something."

That attempt to say the name all sexy left Chloe in tears. It took her a while to stop laughing.

"There is one advantage to goblin names, though," Chloe said. "And that's the number of double entendres for oral sex. I swear, it never gets old."

She sipped her coffee.

"Disadvantage: after a while you start getting aroused by advertisements for shitty processed food." She said it like she was joking, but she wasn't kidding. Those stupid advertisements made by stoners in some marketing firm always reminded her of steamy nights. It felt like a bona fide sexual dysfuction, or perhaps one of the most weirdly capitalist fetishes she had ever heard of.
