Rory was making a habit of teaching Zora. She seemed to need it and honestly, Rory liked the action. She missed simple pleasures like sparring and jumping around. Today, she'd convinced Zora to take her home. Rory had a plan in mind.

"We're going to make sure you can defend yourself in your own home," she'd told Zora. "I'm going to teach you more than just kicking someone's ass when they're going hard on you. I'm going to teach you adaptability. I'm going to teach you to defend your home turf. Remember, this is your turf. You are at an advantage here. Never let someone convince you otherwise."

Zora was glad that Rory had agreed to help her out. She had, in fact, been practising daily and was extremely motivated in improving at getting better. She knew she couldn't, and probably shouldn't, really heavily on her magic, no matter if her powers became stable again or not, because, well, magic was not always reliable and depended on too many variables... like the other person not having stronger magic or being more talented than you.

"Did you want anything before we start? Water? Juice? I think I even have some sports drinks in the fridge..." Zora said to Rory, having already moved the furniture slightly out of the way to make room for them and so they wouldn't get hurt on low glass coffee tables..

"Nah, I'm fine. Er, you're going to want to want to move your furniture back into place. We want this place to look exactly like it normally would."

Rory looked around Zora's home, taking it in. Plans were already formulating in her head. She figured, though, that perhaps she out to bring up what was on her mind.

"I went easy last time. I'm going to go harder at you this time. I doubt your want me to break into your home." Not to mention what a bad idea that would have been considering Zora's bodyguard.

"I'm going to go somewhere in your home and I'm going to attack you, okay? I want you to do the best you can to defend yourself. Remember that you know the layout of this place better than I could. Use that to your advantage."

Taking a second or two to quickly move everything back where it was originally, Zora nodded at Rory's instructions. She actually wondered if what she was saying was true. Did she know her house that well? Oh well, no time to worry about that she realised. Pushing the thought to the back of her mind.

"Okay, I guess I should probably close my eyes and count to ten so you can hide?" she suggested with a smile. She knew it sounded funny put like that. It sounded like a game of hide and seek, though it was far from that.

Rory laughed. "Sure. If you want." And the second Zora wasn't looking at her, Lorelai slipped off further into Zora's home. It was a nice place. Fancy, even. Rory wasn't used to being in places like this.

She was silent enough on her feet, having learned how to distribute her weight in such a way that she made no sound. It made walking a little slower, but Rory could use her flexibility to her advantage where that came.

And then Rory hid away.

She hid until hours had passed. She hid until she was sure Zora would think she straight up abandoned her.

Zora decided to count very slowly to twenty-five to give Rory time to hide. She knew her house was quite big and had a lot of places to hide. In fact, the more she thought about it, the more she came to realise that her house was a perfect place for someone to hide if they wanted to attack her.

Then she started to walk curiously through the house, wondering where Rory had gotten to. After a while, she started to think she might have left, but that seemed odd and so she waited longer even getting up to check the patio area in case she had gone outside.

When Zora wandered back into her home that was when Rory struck, not from the side, not from the bottom, but from the ceiling. Parkour had taught Rory how to contort and get into high places.

She threw a hard hit directly at Zora's shoulder, aiming to knock her down, but being real, with Lorelai's strength there was a good chance of Zora's shoulder dislocating. Rory had experience that before and she knew while it hurt, it hurt even worse to fix it. That hadn't been fun.

Upon re-entering the house, Zora got a very funny feeling - sort of the one people got before a storm broke out - and so when Rory flew down from the ceiling area, she sort of expected it, noticed the blur somewhat out of the corner of her eye and reacted instinctively by diving out of the way, just getting clipped on the arm by Rory's surprise attack.

"Damn. Nice." Rory said before being on Zora again. She didn't let up, and Rory didn't tire. It was a relentless attack of hands and feet. Gripping and tripping and striking for weak points all over Zora's body.

Lorelai could move and twist so she was at Zora's left, then her right. Behind her. In front. Behind her again, a hand going to tangle into Zora's hair and yank her backward.

Zora scrambled backwards on the floor, then got up, but was pulled back down by Rory. Kicking at her, Zora attempted to move away but found herself being tripped as she tried to get up again and run. Falling flat, she put out her arms to break her fall, ignoring the pain, Zora finally managed somehow to break free of her attacker - or so she thought - when suddenly, Rory grabbed her by her hair and yanked her backwards.

"ooff... almost," Zora said, panting, suddenly stopping when Rory pulled her hair, needing a second to regroup.

"Well, at least, I didn't freeze up this time," she said, knowing that that much had improved, her skills, she was not so sure of. She still felt awkward and slow.
