"I thought we had, but I was always worried. That I was a reminder of the bad stuff she did. I dunno, sorry. I was just asking..."

Dalia weakly reached up and scratched at her eyes, feeling like she was going to cry but far too dehydrated to actually manage it. "I'm glad though. I don't think I could stand it if you hated me. You were the only person who understands what it's like when she steps on your heart."

"But good. I'm glad you're doing better. You look good. Handsome," she joked with a weak grin and a chuckle. "When I get out of here, and when I find who did all this to me, we need to hang out again."

Riley forced a smile at Dalia. The fact he had to force himself to care about Dalia was just messed up on so many levels right now. He wanted to care, he should care after all they went through. "You know....I only stayed on the island because I promised you I wouldn't leave. You remember that right? Cause I do."

"And here I am, still here despite the fact I literally don't care about you right now." Riley frowned but just shrugged it off. He wasn't sure if that was rude to say but it was currently a fact they both knew.

"When we find who did this to you. You aren't going alone next time. I don't have any powers but....I'm still smart. From getting Nasci arrested and the whole riddle thing the gods did."

Dalia was about to cry when Riley mentioned that he had promised that he wouldn't leave her. Why did he have to be such a sweet guy? What did she do to even deserve these people? And now he was going to join the Scouts and that just made Dalia swell with pride and she couldn't wait to cheer him o - wait a second.

"Wait," Dalia said, looking firmly over at Riley with her eyebrows furrowed. "Nasci is in jail? For how long? She was the one who sent me the letter that got me to go into the sewers..."

Riley blinked and then stared at Dalia oddly. "Yeah? When she was staying at my place-" Riley stopped and shuddered. "She apparently attacked one of her kids? So I called the cops. They went and took her. She's been in jail since late april?" Did he not tell Dalia this? It seemed like something he should have or at least anyway in her family should have known giving past history.

"I thought....you knew..." Was this his fault? "I should have told you. You wouldn't have went if you knew it wasn-" Wait. Even if it was Nasci why did she go anyway? He shouldn't really be thinking about that right now. "I'm sorry."

"No don't blame yourself, Riley. I just..." Dalia frowned. Late April? Then who could have sent the letter? No one knew about her sewer talks with Nasci. At least as far as she knew.

"No it isn't your fault. I would have gone anyway. The note said that I had to go alone if I wanted to fix... all this..."

Riley sighed. They at least had one place of interest to search which was the sewers. So he get to go explore the sewers again, great. Riley didn't think he would ever need to go down there again after all the Nasci stuff. Too soon, way too soon.

"And nothing was fixed. They tried to kill yo-" Riley stared at Dalia as if realizing something. "They don't want you dead. They had you alone in the sewers and nobody knew where you were. If they wanted you dead they could have easily just killed you there right?" Riley thought more on it. "Or uh....something interrupted them." He honestly wasn't sure which was the better reason.
