No way this one wasn't supposed to be in the school ballroom. Stepping in time to the music? Watching the stars (like through those big old windows)? Nobody ever went there except for when they wanted to make out, only to bump into a couple of people who were already making out in there. Riley Keegan had seen it happen. And no, she wasn't there to make out with anyone. Shut up or get blown up.

...Oh, and also the room was meant for dancing, at school dances. They did those sometimes. You might even say "occasionally." It was really fancy and bourgois.

Anyway, Riley made sure to visit at night, but thankfully it was a school night, so she didn't think she'd see any high school kids or college kids making out. Since it was night time, she could see the stars.

The ballroom seemed empty, but not abandoned. It had obviously been well maintained, and the wide windows on each side were clean, even if there wasn't much of a view. The skies were overcast that night.

Riley frowned. There weren't any stars in sight. Maybe she had to come back on a different night...?

She had her clue copied down on a scrap of paper in her pocket, and she pulled that out now to study it again.

"Step in time to the music and look to the stars..."

Maybe she had to be dancing? There wasn't any music, but she remembered an old dance from her flashbacks, which she now recognized to be a type of Chinese dance that was over a thousand years old. So she did that, in a poor and uncoordinated manner. It must have looked ridiculous, but she had already come all this way, so she wasn't giving up now.

After a couple minutes of this she started looking around to see if anything was happening. Any glints of light that looked like stars, anyone watching her, maybe something magical? She had a feeling it would either come through the windows or down from the ceiling, whatever it was.

Riley did indeed look ridiculous, dancing all alone as they did, but they didn't feel anything particularly strange, and nothing happened.

Well, now Riley was getting frustrated.

She stopped and looked at her piece of paper again, contemplating it. If she wasn't supposed to be dancing, maybe it had something to do with the stars? or floating in the air

She was pretty sure she had to come on a different day, but she'd already gone out of her way to come here, so she decided to make the most of it. She would start looking around the ballroom, particularly at the highest parts near the ceiling and the tops of the walls. Since, uh, stars were pretty high up, she guessed?

Maybe she'd find something unusual. Something shiny and glowy, or something that would appear out of thin air.

When Riley looked at the ceiling, she'd spot something unusual: A cluster of golden colored balloons floating up near the ceiling.

Riley gasped. Did her dancing summon golden balloons? Or did she just forget to look at that part of the ceiling earlier. It didn't matter now. She was going to grab that balloon, she was going go get that point, and no amount of teasing from anyone was going to change that.

The little goddess had a way to get up there. On the one hand, it was going to be a little loud, but on the other hand, she didn't care, so didn't that even out at the end?

Her eyes began to glow. She jumped. Light and heat erupted from one of her feet, accompanied by a loud crack! as she gained more height. She reached up to grab a balloon -

And her hand slipped. But she got one the second time she tried.
